AMAZING! Enough said. Okay I guess I will say a few things. My daughter and I stopped by here for lunch one Saturday. We had the veggie roll, California roll, and pot stickers. I didn't know you get soup and salad and let me tell you the salad dressing i sweet l, but delicious! The pot stickers surprised since they were deep fried. They parked it with what i believe was the dressing they used in the salad. Oh and you get cold noodles to. Both rolls were amazing. Everything was really fresh and refreshing. I never thought about stopping here, but I'm glad I did. We will be going back. Soon!

The restaurant has a nice quiet Asia ambiance. Staff are alert and professional. There is both, tables, and sushi bar seating. The food is very fresh and great. Our family has frequented Ronnie's 2 for 13 years. They have sampler plates and sushi boats. If a family member doesn't like sea food their is a very good deep fried vegetable dish.

First time coming here and loved the sushi rolls. The server was attentive and helpful. I definitely recommend this for a filling sushi place. I left here feeling full with a happy belly. The only thing I don't recommend is the tap water. Pay for another beverage, and you will enjoy everything. Favorite cooked sushi rolls: Ronnie 2 and Pantera

Ronnie 2 always comes with fresh and delicious sushi and foods. The bento boxes are huge (especially lunch box) and great prices. We always get good service as well. Some of our favorites are the Kanikama appetizer, lunch bento box, open your mouth roll #2 and the Alaskan Girl roll. They give miso soup, salad and cold noodles as a free appetizer and they are delicious as well. We will be back soon!

Seems to be pricy, but fish was fresh, stuff is in a hurry and not very friendly, I guess typical for AK

Great service and large portions for a reasonable price on a Saturday afternoon They have a huge selection and I like what we tried.

Ronnie 2 is the best deal in Anchorage for the best sushi lunch. $23 for the sashimi lunch plate, which is 12 slices of four types of fish, usually ahi/tuna, salmon, sea bass or hamachi, and a firm white tuna (escolar) topped with crunchy garlic (my favorite!). ALWAYS get the Ronnie Roll, a sweet "Japanese BBQ" almost Mongolian beef tasting atop a tempura shrimp crunch roll ($18). It's then topped with sriracha and slices of fresh garlic. This occasion we feasted and also ordered the Open Your Mouth Roll, which was almost two bites each, but melts in your mouth with California roll inside and fresh tuna, tempura shrimp, and sauce & tobiko on exterior ($17).

First time at this location - I've been to the Jewel Lake place many times, but never the spot on Muldoon. I got the sushi lunch which comes with a crunchy roll and seven pieces of nigiri. The seaseme chicken was also great! The sushi was fresh and the service was prompt and friendly.

Great sushi! Made a quick stop before heading to the airport. The Alaskan Girl Roll was fresh and came with a bunch of tuna piled on top. It was a bit spicy but definitely worth it. We were also surprised to get a bowl of miso soup, a little bowl of noodles, and a small salad before our meal came out. The house fried rice was also very good and a large portion.

Good sushi if you're on the northeast part of town. (The original Ronnie on Jewel Lake is better.)

On a cold day, this…read moreis exactly the kind of meal that makes sense--warming, steady, and satisfying without trying too hard. The space has a modern Japanese minimalist aesthetic--clean lines, warm lighting, and a refined calm that feels both welcoming and quietly upscale. It's thoughtfully designed without being cold, striking a balance between contemporary elegance and comfort. Shabu-shabu here is on the pricier side, but the portioning justifies it. The small shabu-shabu easily feeds three to four people, especially when shared properly, and nothing about it felt skimpy or rushed. Three visits in, it continues to deliver!

We used to come here when this place was Peter's Sushi Spot, the inside has not changed hugely…read moresince then, except maybe for the hot plates on the tables, should you wish to have shabu shabu. The hot plates are spotlessly clean, I did notice, and there were instructions on the wall on how to cook shabu shabu. We used to come for the Tempura Udon which was spectacular. We were seated very quickly, and water was brought out. I decided to go with my benchmark dish, which always gives me some idea of whether I will return or not, and ordered chicken fried rice, husband got the tempura udon, so he could compare with the previous Udon we used to get here. I noticed that their soft drinks are only $2 which is an excellent price in my opinion. I got a Canada Dry as I love ginger ale. His Udon came out quite quickly, and we could instantly tell that the broth did not have the same depth of flavour, as when we used to come here, (it was quite smoky and very umami) and this one has a distinctly seaweed tang. Thats not to say that it's bad, it's just different. The noodles are also not quite so dense, chewy or toothsome. Additionally the tempura was somewhat of a letdown. The shrimps were very slimline compared to the display on the tv. There was an onion ring, that was also quite thin. Just not a good representation of tempura. Also, comparing with the Udon that used to be here, you also got a cup of miso soup, and a small salad with a carrot orange dressing. Those are gone. As for my chicken fried rice, well the presentation was excellent, it came on a beautiful plate, and looked very appetizing. The first couple of bites were really nice, plenty of carrots, broccoli, chicken, however I soon started encountering tender crisp onions. Which I cannot eat. They give me violent stomach pains. I can only eat onions that have been cooked down to almost mush. Anything raw or that has any element of crunch to it is a no-go, as it will make me ill. I found it somewhat unusual, as I get fried rice all over town and have never encountered chunky onions before. I'm sure I could have asked them to leave them out had I known they were going to be in there. It tasted good, for sure, but having to continually move the onions aside (and there was a lot of onions) was offputting. Normally when i get fried rice, I eat some, and take the rest in a to go box. I did not take the rest home this time which is very telling. Anyway, service was excellent, and they were very attentive - for instance our server saw that my husband was giving me a spoonful of his udon, and without being asked he came over with an extra spoon, small bowl, and a ladle, which I thought was very thoughtful. I cannot fault the staff.

We've tried the seaweed salad, a couple of their sushi rolls, and an assortment of other items. My new favorite thing might be the crispy spicy ahi bites. Each bite a perfect size, so crunchy and with a thin slice of Jalapeño on top. I also enjoyed the steamed pork gyoza, each one super succulent and tasty. My husband tried the fried chicken thigh with tartar sauce, which was delicious. The chicken was super flavorful and the tartar sauce was like egg salad but worked with the flavors which was a nice surprise. We like splitting a large 22 oz bottle of Sapporo, but we have also liked ordering a small bottle of sake to share in lieu of dessert. The last time we went I got the gluten-free chocolate cake which was pretty good but laughably tiny in size ($10). Wait times can vary depending on the day you go and time, we've been seated immediately (party of 2) as well as waited an hour for a table. Speaking of which, you may be seated at their largest table which they also seat other parties, so it feels a bit communal as opposed to private. Sakura has maintained their quality in food over the years and their waitstaff are excellent each time we go. I always look forward to time spent here and you can't go wrong with anything you choose on the menu.
