AMAZING! Enough said. Okay I guess I will say a few things. My daughter and I stopped by here for lunch one Saturday. We had the veggie roll, California roll, and pot stickers. I didn't know you get soup and salad and let me tell you the salad dressing i sweet l, but delicious! The pot stickers surprised since they were deep fried. They parked it with what i believe was the dressing they used in the salad. Oh and you get cold noodles to. Both rolls were amazing. Everything was really fresh and refreshing. I never thought about stopping here, but I'm glad I did. We will be going back. Soon! read more

Watch your bank statements. They charged me on top of the tip I already gave them. I go there almost once a week. Total is always the same. I always tip the same amount. This time they over charged me. Keep an eye on your bank statements and keep receipts. read more

First time coming here and loved the sushi rolls. The server was attentive and helpful. I definitely recommend this for a filling sushi place. I left here feeling full with a happy belly. The restaurant has a nice quiet Asia ambiance. Staff are alert and professional. There is both, tables, and sushi bar seating. The food is very fresh and great. This is my second time to this restaurant. Kind of in an out of the way place but gotta respect that the sushi is fresh. Some of the sushi titles are just funny. Yes there is a viagra one and multiple names echoing rock bands. Odd given the decor is pretty classic Japanese style. Still service was prompt. Our waiter teased us and his own menu a bit, all in good fun. Our large group was seated immediately and ordered across the menu. Sashimi. Sushi. Rolls. A salmon teriyaki plate. Ronnie 2 always comes with fresh and delicious sushi and foods. The bento boxes are huge (especially lunch box) and great prices. We always get good service as well. Some of our favorites are the Kanikama appetizer, lunch bento box, open your mouth roll #2 and the Alaskan Girl roll. Ronnie 2 is the best deal in Anchorage for the best sushi lunch. $23 for the sashimi lunch plate, which is 12 slices of four types of fish, usually ahi/tuna, salmon, sea bass or hamachi, and a firm white tuna (escolar) topped with crunchy garlic (my favorite!). ALWAYS get the Ronnie Roll, a sweet "Japanese BBQ" almost Mongolian beef tasting atop a tempura shrimp crunch roll ($18). It's then topped with sriracha and slices of fresh garlic. This occasion we feasted and also ordered the Open Your Mouth Roll, which was almost two bites each, but melts in your mouth with California roll inside and fresh tuna, tempura shrimp, and sauce & tobiko on exterior ($17). read more

Great sushi! Made a quick stop before heading to the airport. The Alaskan Girl Roll was fresh and came with a bunch of tuna piled on top. It was a bit spicy but definitely worth it. First time at this location - I've been to the Jewel Lake place many times, but never the spot on Muldoon. I got the sushi lunch which comes with a crunchy roll and seven pieces of nigiri. The seaseme chicken was also great! The sushi was fresh and the service was prompt and friendly. read more

Where to begin...... Let's just say that I've spent enough money on sushi here to put one of their kids through an entire doctorate program. I'm usually not a creature of habit, but when you find something as perfect as their sushi lunch plate, it's hard for me to change it up. That said, I've eaten most of their menu items and never, not once, been disappointed. Their ingredients are always fresh. Their food is made with such care and precision, even during peak hours. The staff is incredible. This place takes an immense amount of pride in what they do and continues to be my go-to for sushi in Alaska. Thank you for all the airline miles!! read more

WHY HAVE I NEVER BEEN HERE?! I have literally lived down the street for years and always drove by because it never really caught my eye! BUT OMG. If you have read my reviews I say Yama Sushi is my favorite in Anchorage.... but this place... Wow.... customer service is great(even on a busy Valentine's Day night) they are courteous, accommodating and attentive. Atmosphere is clean, personal and great. Really what more can you ask for in what looks to be a hole in the wall. Ohhh and did I mention the food?! Spectacular sushi. Firstly, don't just walk out if you don't see someone at the counter to seat you, they are probably in the back making all the appetizers you get with your meal. I would just say seat yourself, preferably at the sushi bar if their is room. Erisio (?) is the sushi chef who catered to us and he did a great job :) I ordered the Chicken Teryaki roll as I have never seen this before. Definately was not my favorite, but that doesn't mean I won't come back, I will definitely try something else. We got miso soup (just okay, normal taste, nothing to wow), a salad with a weird type of dressing on it (not my fav) and some sort of rice noodle vinegar taste that was pretty good, we even got edamame. All in all the service is great here, just very busy! I will update my review when I get to try something else. read more

I don't usually eat sushi, but when I do I go to Ronnie 2! First time at Ronnie 2 and I was very impressed with the service and food. I ordered the lunch special for $13.95 and as you can see on the photo, you get tons of food. The sushi was made with quality ingredients and rolled properly. They also served free starters like salad, rice noodles, and miso soup. The server also brought out complimentary tempura sushi which was crunchy and tasty. Ronnie's sushi is so unique and delicious. All of their sushi rolls have unique twists that work well! The atmosphere seemed nice from what I saw. We took sushi to go, which usually disappoints me but this was awesome. We tried three rolls; Ronnie Roll, Open your Mouth Roll, and the Megadeath roll. They were all awesome. Over priced Carrs/Fred Meyers sushi. Soooo much rice, you can't enjoy the sushi because it takes over everything. It's awful... I look forward to ordering sushi every Friday and decided to try a new place. Bad decision. Sooo disappointed... I wasted $30+ 20% tip for grocery grade sushi and one cheap packet of soy sauce . Super friendly staff and owners and delicious sushi. They offer a free kids meal as well. Once you've sat down, you are given a small salad, edamame, soup, and a noodle salad. Yum! I also really love the sweet potato dessert they give you at the end of your meal. The sushi is always fresh and a great amount of food for the price. A favorite spot to pop in for sushi in a relaxed atmosphere with fun (think dance) music. Their menu is extensive and has something for everyone. You can even ask to have a customized roll, but expect to pay a little extra if you do. My only 'gripe' is that their rolls are usually heavy on the rice. read more

The booth seats were also cracked. Luckily I was wearing long jeans so it didn't bother me too much. Normally, I don't mind a little noise, but the restaurant was extremely loud. Everyone around us seemed to be talking at full volume, to the point where we could hear entire conversations from other tables. It definitely took away from the overall dining experience and vibe. As for the service, it was underwhelming. Our drinks were never refilled, not even once, and we had to go without refills for the entire meal. I also noticed some of the staff eating behind the sushi bar while they were still working, which I found a little off-putting and unprofessional. We started with the garlic edamame, which was loaded with garlic, something I personally love. Unfortunately, the edamame itself was mushy and overcooked. We also ordered a shrimp tempura roll, combination fried rice, and a bulgogi bento. The shrimp tempura roll was decent and ended up being the best dish we ordered. The bulgogi bento, was VERY sweet, a little too sweet for my preference. The salad dressing wasn't anything particularly special, and the tempura was just okay. Overall, I really wanted to love this place, especially because I'm always on the hunt for good sushi outside of Hawai'i, but unfortunately, the food and overall atmosphere didn't quite meet my expectations. There were some decent dishes, but I don't think this will be a spot we rush back to.

My husband tried the fried chicken thigh with tartar sauce, which was delicious. The chicken was super flavorful and the tartar sauce was like egg salad but worked with the flavors which was a nice surprise. We like splitting a large 22 oz bottle of Sapporo, but we have also liked ordering a small bottle of sake to share in lieu of dessert. The last time we went I got the gluten-free chocolate cake which was pretty good but laughably tiny in size ($10). Wait times can vary depending on the day you go and time, we've been seated immediately (party of 2) as well as waited an hour for a table. Speaking of which, you may be seated at their largest table which they also seat other parties, so it feels a bit communal as opposed to private. Sakura has maintained their quality in food over the years and their waitstaff are excellent each time we go. I always look forward to time spent here and you can't go wrong with anything you choose on the menu.

Not My kind of Sushi. Rice had very little flavor and to much rice for Sushi. The rolls looked very good but didn't deliver on flavor. I recommend Samurai Sushi just down the road. The most authentic ever. I wasnt expecting the rush I got, I almost died!!! Their sushi menu is ENORMOUS. I decided to take my sushi loving kids back with me soon and try theirs and ultimately I chickened out and bought the only ramen offering they had. I suspect that was a mistake because it wasnt very good... it was very... Random tasting? Im searching for a word because it seemed unprofessional and like an attempt like I would do at home rather than what you would get at a Japanese restaurant. I didn't like the low quality of chopsticks though, I hope they improve on that hopefully for ones that don't splinter and tear so unevenly.
