Place was great! The service was fantastic the woman who helped us was very kind and helpful in helping me make my decision on what I wanted. The place is set up very nice and definitely has room for you in a few friends. Not a huge area to sit and eat but more than enough. The food itself was fantastic and the portion was huge. I only was able to eat about half of that box and drink part of my suit. It was very enjoyable the next day as well for breakfast. If I'm in this area, I will definitely be back.

I'm a frequent customer and usually have no complaints, but this is the second time the quality of the food has been disappointing. For a dish that relies on fresh, visible ingredients, it's surprising how this was overlooked. Every avocado in my California roll was visibly not fresh. All pieces were browned, making the roll unappetizing. It's frustrating to receive something like that, especially as a returning customer.

I really enjoyed the food from here! Great addition to the area, and perfect for people in Eagle River/Chugiak to have another take out option that's not super far into Anchorage. The location is mainly a take out operation, but looks like there will be some counter seating post pandemic. Very true to a Japanese izakaya. The food is reasonable priced, and their menu has a great variety of items. It's not a huge sushi menu, but for a small operation they offer a good variety of rolls as well as other dishes like katsu, udon and yakisoba. They also have an awesome lunch special deal during the week. We have mainly tried the sushi items from here, but have also gotten the bulgolgi bowl, which I feel is always a generous portion. The bulgolgi is pretty tasty, and included a miso soup. For sushi they have spicy tuna on crispy rice, which I feel is a rare find in Anchorage for some reason! It is very tasty, and I always order it! All their rolls have always been prepared well, and the fish is fresh. Their jalapeño bomb appetizer is delicious, and I think it's one of the more unique items on their menu. They also offer a variety of Japanese cheesecakes. I tried the yuzu one, and it wasn't my favorite. I'd give another flavor a try though. Ryuu Bowl is a great take out spot for sushi and other Japanese dishes. They also provide delivery though I'm not sure if the radius. I also know they deliver onto base, which I think is a huge draw for those who live near the Muldoon Gate. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area!

I've gotten take-out twice from Ryun Bowl and both times did not disappoint! Big portions, delicious flavor and very fresh. Very nicely packed and utensils were very nice for take out. It's the little things ;) Staff is very helpful and pleasant to talk to on the phone. Quick wait time and pick-up.

Very disappointing! I was excited to try this place. Menu looked great and nice (but small) interior decor. More of a takeout place. A lot of door dash and grub hub people coming through. I ordered spider rolls (ok. A little hard to screw up deep fried anything including soft shell crab). Spicy tuna roll was just ok. Same for rainbow roll. Wasn't the best quality sushi and prices were still around $14 a roll. I also got 2 bowls - the bulgogi and bibibimbop. First, they both looked and tasted exactly the same. The meat was of low quality and stringy. I did not find the staff particularly friendly. Prices are steep for the quality. I would rather go to an actual sushi restaurant for a couple dollars more. You can stop at the Starbucks a few doors down while you wait for your food to be ready. Cheesecakes looked good, but I didn't try. I won't be back unfortunately.

Everything is made fresh, beef/chicken teriyaki rocks, large portions, killer spot for hot meal when it's cold out.

The price is decent and the service was good but the bulgogi was incredibly salty and the rice seemed pretty old.

The space has a modern Japanese minimalist aesthetic--clean lines, warm lighting, and a refined calm that feels both welcoming and quietly upscale. It's thoughtfully designed without being cold, striking a balance between contemporary elegance and comfort. Shabu-shabu here is on the pricier side, but the portioning justifies it. The small shabu-shabu easily feeds three to four people, especially when shared properly, and nothing about it felt skimpy or rushed. Three visits in, it continues to deliver!

We used to come here when this place was Peter's Sushi Spot, the inside has not changed hugely…read moresince then, except maybe for the hot plates on the tables, should you wish to have shabu shabu. The hot plates are spotlessly clean, I did notice, and there were instructions on the wall on how to cook shabu shabu. We used to come for the Tempura Udon which was spectacular. We were seated very quickly, and water was brought out. I decided to go with my benchmark dish, which always gives me some idea of whether I will return or not, and ordered chicken fried rice, husband got the tempura udon, so he could compare with the previous Udon we used to get here. I noticed that their soft drinks are only $2 which is an excellent price in my opinion. I got a Canada Dry as I love ginger ale. His Udon came out quite quickly, and we could instantly tell that the broth did not have the same depth of flavour, as when we used to come here, (it was quite smoky and very umami) and this one has a distinctly seaweed tang. Thats not to say that it's bad, it's just different. The noodles are also not quite so dense, chewy or toothsome. Additionally the tempura was somewhat of a letdown. The shrimps were very slimline compared to the display on the tv. There was an onion ring, that was also quite thin. Just not a good representation of tempura. Also, comparing with the Udon that used to be here, you also got a cup of miso soup, and a small salad with a carrot orange dressing. Those are gone. As for my chicken fried rice, well the presentation was excellent, it came on a beautiful plate, and looked very appetizing. The first couple of bites were really nice, plenty of carrots, broccoli, chicken, however I soon started encountering tender crisp onions. Which I cannot eat. They give me violent stomach pains. I can only eat onions that have been cooked down to almost mush. Anything raw or that has any element of crunch to it is a no-go, as it will make me ill. I found it somewhat unusual, as I get fried rice all over town and have never encountered chunky onions before. I'm sure I could have asked them to leave them out had I known they were going to be in there. It tasted good, for sure, but having to continually move the onions aside (and there was a lot of onions) was offputting. Normally when i get fried rice, I eat some, and take the rest in a to go box. I did not take the rest home this time which is very telling. Anyway, service was excellent, and they were very attentive - for instance our server saw that my husband was giving me a spoonful of his udon, and without being asked he came over with an extra spoon, small bowl, and a ladle, which I thought was very thoughtful. I cannot fault the staff.

Antonio greeted me at the door and sat me in just a few minutes. I was seated at the bar counter downstairs. A dark intimate hip place. The guys behind the counter were Cory, Kendrick, and another young gentleman I didn't get the name of. They were happy people and it showed. I saw from the yelpers they had Tsukemono (Japanese pickles) and my second favorite Tsukemen (dipping noodles) . I ordered both and was pleasantly surprised to see the pork belly was perfectly roasted, the 6 1/2 min egg was on point, and the noodles and broth were absolutely amazing. I am a Tsukemen fan and this place did it right. I then ordered the matcha pancetta dessert. Whoa! Completely knocked on the floor with the flavors. This is my favorite restaurant having spent two weeks here and finding this one on my last night. Can't wait to come back. Don't hesitate to eat here.

However this was my birthday dinner so I was particularly disappointed. I reserved a table for three in the whisky bar area. We arrived about five minutes early and were told by one of the hostesses that the party at the table just paid and should be leaving soon. About 20 minutes passed before another said the party still had not left even though one of them talked to the server. Eventually I agreed to have us seated in the main dining room. Almost immediately afterward I saw two parties leave the whisky bar so I asked to be moved there, which according to one of the hostesses is where we originally supposed to be. It was over 30 minutes later when we finally got the table I reserved. This left a sour taste in my mouth and I considered leaving at one point, but I was really looking forward to this dinner. For dinner I ordered the Komorebi Old Fashioned and the Dark Horse as I often do, We also shared the whisky pork buns and everything was delicious. Dessert was not as enjoyable. I ordered their espresso martini, the Electric Stolt, which was decent enough. Lacking on the coffee flavor in my opinion. I also ordered the chocolate birthday cake which, aside from the cherries in the cake, tasted like any generic cake you would get from a grocery store. Their other desserts, like the matcha panna cotta and goma silk bar, are much more flavorable. Service overall was fine, but we got the check before my boyfriend could order another drink so we felt somewhat rushed out. Considering this is the only time I've had issues with being seated for reservations, I would go back, but this was my least pleasant dining experience here, unfortunately.
