Food was very flavorful. Service not what I expected. Was hoping the server would have stopped by to ask how everything was going. New to the area. read more

Went with a large group for dinner. They have a robot that zips around with drinks. We opted for the AYCE A. The side dishes that you can get refilled were things like macaroni salad, tofu, and pickled cucumbers. Those were all just ok. I believe we ordered every single meat option we could. It was a little hard to tell what was what. I did figure out that the Vietnamese pork chop was my favorite, although they limited how many you could order. Everything was tender. You get a couple of dipping sauces, but I didn't know the names. There were a few people that were taking our orders and changing out the grill. A couple of them didn't seem friendly. We probably should've kept track of the time but it seemed like we were cut off early. I would definitely come back to try lunch and not an AYCE. read more

My husband and I have been meaning to visit this place and I am so glad we did!!! Had to do a taste test before we brought the family over, and oh my goodness did we leave not able to have another bite. The food is fantastic! Their menu is advertised in package selections. Depending on what kind of meat you want and how many people are in your party, determines the price of your package selection. You will definitely have more than you need for sure. Drinks were great, family friendly and very clean! A special treat, there's a robot that come and delivers your appetizers and drinks! Go and enjoy! read more

Service to start was slow. In my opinion, since this restaurant is new... maybe think about asking, is this your first time here? Or can I explain how the menu works? can help a customer. Our first server took a bit to get to us. Our second server was great. The soju drink was delicious but spendy. Made by human, delivered by a robot. Now on the the food: I love hamachi so I had to order it. It was pretty good. Nice flavor with a little crisp to the skin. We ordered the Unami hot pot special bc it was just simple, and the 3 of us didn't have to agree on or decide what to add. I did not care for the soup base, but the meats and fresh veggies were good. Overall, it was o.k. I would give another try for the grill side of the food. read more

My boyfriend and I drove down from Fairbanks to visit the area and saw this place on tiktok. I missed asian food so much, so we decided to try this out. The food and service was amazing, the ambiance was great too, good song selections. Not too busy on the weekends for lunch, we were seated right away. Will come back if we're in the area! read more

Didn't go for the bbq after we saw the pricing, so we got the other dishes. Was mid and overpriced. Ordered 1. banh xeo - not bad, crispy 2. Mushroom pot soup - taste like pho broth but with a huge lack of flavor. There were no condiments to add into the broth to enhance the soup other than siracha and soy sauce. 3. Ramen stir fried - decent, noodles felt like it came from a pack not much happening 4. Steak egg and rice - wasn't bad had some depth of flavor with a random piece of corn Overall it wasn't terrible but for cheaper and better taste I would go to those hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant. read more

Happy to have found Umami. The vibe is laid back and yet the service was fast and the wait staff friendly. We had the Lemongrass Beef Stir Fry and the Beef Sizzling Plate. The servings were well presented and portioned though not massive... just right. Tasted great, too. We felt the prices were very reasonable and have often paid more for less. Overall for what this is, a casual Vietnamese BBQ, we will come again, and will recommend Umami to friends. read more

Authentic Asian food and amazing service. We ordered the hot pot and the meat is high quality. Highly recommended!

Food was top tear, we had an arming service and when we got thirsty a friendly robot appeared

The service was not great at all, they dropped the food off and quite literally did not check on us until we're finishing. We ran out of sauces & had empty drinks. We had 5 adults and 2 children under 5 and we were charged 18% gratuity (which was $55) when she changed my card came back we clicked no tip and some how another $10 got added. Overall food was decent I was disappointed we ordered the biggest bbq plate that's $295 and you get one tiny bowl of lettuce and one tiny bowl of salad was not enough for even everyone to have some. Don't think I would return in the future read more

Something was off about the sauces and texture. The popcorn garlic chicken was overcooked and not juicy. The spring rolls were ok but out of the 4 dishes we tried it all tasted and smelled like sour feet. Not worth $70. The robot is cute. read more

I think they need a lot more work and time before they can start to serve people. I had to wait more than an hour before there was food on the table and I went during a not-busy time. I was a party of 3 and was told to put my name in the waitlist. There was no one in the waiting area and I was happy to plug my info in the machine upfront. Soon a party of 6 arrived after us and they were taken in to be seated first right away. Then they had us wait for another 20 more min at least. No explanation. Even after being seated, we had to wait 20 min to have anyone coming to us the table. Then waited 30 min until we got our drinks after that. I had to call someone who looked like a manager to check on our drinks. The big table of 6 was already feasting by that time. After waiting for the food over an hour, everyone at our table was upset and I felt bad for choosing this place to try. Once our foods arrived, it looked very underwhelming (you can see it in the picture). We ordered their Dinner beef broth special with supposedly lots of meats and vegetables for $79. It had a tiny little ox tail (like one tail end) and a few shreds of beef tendon tribes deep in the bottom of the soup. Beef ribs were mostly bones and very chewy. It was different than what I would normally call the Chinese hot pot. I couldn't believe I was paying $79 for this soup. Vietnamese coffee looked like someone took a big sip before giving it to me. Too much ice and not enough juice. I ended up adding water to it as I drink it. Appetizer chicken was tasty. I expect it to be tasty for 6/$18 though. Foods overall was yummy. Green herb sauce was pleasant and overall flavorful. The flavor profile for the entire place was more in Southeast Asian like Vietnam, I think? Definitely not Korean bbq, not Japanese or traditional Chinese hot pot. I was hoping for something more like Haidilao style because the ambience was on point. It felt like an elevated (and over priced) pho restaurant. It's going to be a while until I would go back to try again. read more

I don't like to do bad reviews on new local joints and I really wanted to like it because the ambiance is very nice but sadly we were let down by the food. I think they can really improve on the portion size or price, we ordered chicken wings which i thought were pretty good (8/10 good flavor) The drinks were great highly recommend the mango passion fruit tea (10/10) It was the actual grill portion that was disappointing.. we got an order of pork, and got 5 small slices that costed $25 The chicken thighs were also smaller and we got 2 pieces for $25 The veggies were just a small amount of mushrooms, zucchini & a quarter corn. + you don't get rice so you have to pay for that separately as well. There was only one dipping sauce and small side of kimchi.. The beginning of our meal was great, customer service was good, drinks were fantastic really hope they can get it figured out i know its early on so plenty of time to adjust. Sorry no pics to post phone died read more

Underwhelming honestly... If you plan to eat here (at this time).. expect a loooong wait to be seated and for food to arrive. Approx 30-40 min to be seated (its a new resto so thats fine), then it took ~45 minutes for the uncooked meats/seafood, our server never offered to explain the menu (gave us 4 sheets + the lunch menu?). Perhaps nextime I'll just try the lunch menu and appetizers. Anyways, My table tried the BBQ grill which was sadly not flavorful or savory (where's the UMAMI?!) and too pricey for the amount of meat and seafood that you receive. $20-$36 range for the meats/seafood... so kind of expecting a platter right? Naw, there was 5 small slices of pork belly for $25. So of course we ordered more meats and scallops for 3 of us. Also, the sauces?! Chimichurri (their signature green sauce) really?! for everything to dip in?! Where are the choices? It wasn't flavorful either! Then a bowl of chopped lettuce and a small side of "pickled veggies"--- aka kimchi. I was lost with what was offered. The cocktails were good, but extra small. This place still needs work... great decor though! I'll give it another 4 months. Then possibly check it out again, but for now. Definitely holding off on the BBQ grill. read more

Their food was delicious and incredible. I loved all the different options they had. My whole family everyone got different appetizers and we all had the hot pot and everyone loved it all . The waitresses and servers were so kind and right on point we needed anything they were right there. The time they took to make my day so special!! My husband surprised me with my dinner reservation and they surprised us with the magical decorations and a beautiful bouquet of flowers and card as a gift for me from them! Tried the bbq here. We ordered one serving of pork belly, pork shoulder and the beef short ribs. When I asked how many oz per serving we got (it's like 5 or 6 slices). Take that for what it's worth. Overall good experience/meal, however there was something real weird about the pickled cabbage, it tasted like it was soaked in fish sauce, as opposed to vinegar which we were told. The rice was old/dry, and we also weren't sure how to eat the cut up romaine lettuce. (Too tiny for wraps although we tried) Our waitress and the server kept turning the heat down and up respectively so our bbq wouldn't cook fast enough and then the next minute be burnt to a crisp. The $6 Vietnamese coffee was literally like two sips. Nothing special and you could easily replicate this at home. read more

Great Food & Service I've been to this establishment for lunch and had a wonderful experience, so I wanted to try it out for my Dad's 72nd birthday dinner. Once we arrived at the restaurant, the owner, Tan, greeted us and immediately seated us at our table. The restaurant was very clean, the staff was polite and professional, and their service exceeded our expectations. My dad thoroughly enjoyed his meal, as did the rest of my family. We ordered items from the hot pot menu and enjoyed the Popcorn Garlic Chicken with the Signature Green Sauce (amazing!). We also ordered Lavender Lemon Ube Lime and Lychee Guava soju cocktails, which were yummy. It was a wonderful experience all around! We will definitely be back to try out the rest of their menu. read more

We ordered the combination. And they did not bring out all the ingredients according to what is written in the menu. The vegi plate was small without brocolli. They even tell us extra sauce would cause extra money. What a disappointment. read more

I've come here 5 different times and I've never experienced this type of service, ever. We ordered the largest meat combo $295 for 5 adults and 2 small children under 5 years old. The food came out pretty quickly but we were not given enough sides. Everyone had a rice but we were only given 1 small lettuce, 1 small salad, 1 small Mac salad, I small tofu and 1 small pickled veggies. We ran out of sauce very quickly and were waiting for our waitress to come back to ask for more sides and sauce and she didn't check on us until we nearly finished with all our food(30-40 mins). We cancelled a drink because it took over 15 minutes to get. They added a $55 gratuity and then asked us if we wanted to tip on top of that and we said no but we're charged an extra $10. This is my first review I've ever written because I'm so dissatisfied and disappointed in the service tonight. The food was good but I won't be recommending this place to anyone else. read more

I have been 3 times. Food is always great, but this last experience was not good. They started doing karaoke at 7 on weekends and it was way too loud. I took my date there and we had to yell each other to chat. Not a good place for a date right with the karaoke blaring. read more

Foods great, clean restaurant and helpful service throughout our time dining. Definitely recommend trying. We will definitely be back

Price is extremely high for the lack of flavor and amount given. Probably the saddest hot pot my family and I have been to.

Things could be better. We got seated pretty quickly but had to wait a while for water and the menu. We got the umami hot pot special($79) and the crispy pork lettuce wrap ($24) which was pretty good and had a nice flavor but for the price I would have expected more. I had ordered a side of noodles for my soup but they had forgot about it and had them cancel it. We also ordered a side steak and now that I think about it we never got it. Oh well lesson learned double check your order before you pay read more
