We've been back to LimeLeaf a couple times recently and it appears that they've reverted their Pad Thai back to the original recipe and this is a great thing! No more red pasty sauce that stopped us from going there. We didn't need a reservation on a Tuesday night, there were only a handful of tables occupied at 6pm, which I didn't mind one bit. We only saw our actual server one time and it was when it took almost ten minutes to come by and take our order. The hostess was running her tail off doing the servers work... water, bringing out plates, to go boxes, clearing plates. Thinking back I wish I would have thought to tip her cash rather than leaving it on the cc receipt for the server. Regardless, hot, fresh food that we had come to love early on and pleased to be back to enjoy the dish I like so much!

Was in Anchorage for a few days and wanted some variety in food, so decided to give this place a try. I wouldn't say this restaurant was very authentic in the taste of the food, as I thought the food was kind of bland and overall lacked depth of flavor. But it scratched the itch that I had for some Asian food. We ended up getting the Thai curry with rice, shrimp cakes, and the dinner combo meal. As mentioned, everything was so-so, but might be good for the area that it's in!

Ka-Nok-Karn Roll and house fried rice in the middle

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Thought that this place looked very good and the pictures also looked good online.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was nice amd very clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], food also came out very fast. The server seemed timid, he came by a few times but forgot to fill our waters. I ordered the Ka-Nok-Karn Roll and house fried rice. The roll was good, but the house fried rice was interesting. I don't know how else to put it, but the beef tasted like game meat to me. The onions also were spotty like they were going bad, not just grill marks. Husband ordered the Mongolian beef and made it level five spicy. He said that it was very good and also flavorful.

Finally was able to check out Limeleaf! They opened in 2021, and closed just months after opening due to a family emergency. They just recently reopened in March of 2023, and I dined with them a few week ago. This is the sister restaurant to Basil Ginger in wasilla, and the space is very similarly decorated. It's the most upscale & prettiest restaurant that we currently have in Eagle River. I wish they had a sushi bar though! Service was excellent. Staff was super friendly, and helpful. Our server did a good job describing the sake to me. We arrived around 5:30 since we did not have reservations, and the restaurant filled up very quickly. The staff was great at working as a team since our server seemed to have a lot of tables on their hands! We ordered the Susa combo which was 12 pieces chef's choice sashimi, 5 pieces chef choice nigiri, a California roll or a spicy tuna roll, and choice of soup. This combo was $55 & I thought that was a fair price for the amount of food especially considering the prices of sashimi & nigiri when priced out per piece. The sashimi & nigiri was very fresh, and a good sized portion of fish. They gave us a great variety of different fish. The spicy tuna roll was good as well, but I was most impressed with the sashimi. We were two people splitting the sushi, and were able to get an additional soup for an up charge. We both ordered the hot & sour soup, which was delicious. Definitely one of the better hot & sour soups that I've ever had. We also ordered 1 specialty roll--the sunny roll, which was very light and refreshing. It had lemon & yuzu sauce. I also ordered a dinner special for my son as they have no kids menu. I got the sesame chicken & spicy tuna roll special, but I was able to sub jiaozi for the sushi roll. The sesame chicken was ok. It was overly breaded, and had a ton of sauce on it. The jiaozi were deep fried and also just ok. I probably would stick to the sushi here rather than the Chinese food menu, but I am open to trying more. I typically don't go for the breaded dishes, but completely forget sesame chicken is typically breaded. For dessert we ordered one of the kastle kreation pies that are on the menu-the peanut butter pie. I think she puts out some great desserts, and the pies are definitely scrumptious! Overall I think this is the best sit down restaurant in Anchorage. The food was delicious, and it had a great ambiance. Definitely think this was some of the better sushi that I've had in the Anchorage area.

What blew me away about this place was the SERVICE. It was SO EFFICIENT. I had multiple people waiting on me and all were perfectly coordinated. I ordered a beer and it was at my table in 2 minutes. I ordered food and it was there in 7. I got my tab right when I asked for it. All these functions were carried out by...different members of the staff! How do they do it? I don't know, but I wish more places took this team approach to service! They had a few tasty brews on tap. I don't normally like imported lagers because they are always in a bottle and oxidized or skunked in some way, but the Sapporo on tap here was crisp and clean just like a good pale lager should be! I got a Mongolian beef and eggroll dinner plate and it was also excellent. This is the best place for sit-down dinner in ER, even if you're strapped for time!

I had such a great experience here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Right upon walking in the smell was amazing. Restaurants should smell great and it already had me ready to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] First off we came on a Saturday evening at almost 8pm and they close at 9pm. Sometimes you would expect subpar service because they're just trying to get out of there. But on the contrary the service was excellent. Attentive & fast. We got the coconut prawns and calamari to start. Calamari was great, it wasn't rubbery and overcooked, the breading was lightly seasoned and wasn't oily or over fried. The coconut prawns though - probably my FAVORITE. The prawns were perfect, breading was light and crispy with a hint of coconut that wasn't overpowering. The sauce was delicious with notes of citrus. I would seriously go back and just eat those. I got the Pad Thai, which I loved. My sister got the curry and that was also very good, chicken was tender and moist not overcooked as some chicken can be in soups. I will also note that we got curry chicken to go for our husbands, I ate a portion of mines 2 days later and it was still BOMB.COM. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was great, quiet enough to have an intimate coversation but not so quiet that it was like a cemetary.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10/10 super recommend and will be going back for date night!

Stopped here with a friend after a hike around 2pm. Was surprised to see "dinner specials" handed out with the menu. It was only 2pm.... I ended up getting the pad Thai. It was really good! The portion was huge and I ended up boxing about half up. The service is friendly, but I had a hard time getting my soda refilled. The location is kind of odd and easily missed if traveling North bound.

It's the first little box you're probably gonna open and it's gonna make you mad. They're $10 for two eggrolls the size of your finger. They were unremarkable and should've been two dollars. I was ready to be pissed off about the rest of the food, but I was pleased. I got the chicken lo mein, and it was absolutely delicious. The noodles were the perfect consistency. The chicken was tender, and I was not expecting that, and the veggies were perfect. It was so freaking good. I was also ready for the sesame chicken to be meh. Or at least hurt my mouth. It was soft, perfect battered covering perfect amount of sauce. Perfect amount of sesame seeds. White rice doesn't always grab me and there were two big scoops in the container and it's the best rice I think I've ever had and it went really well with the chicken. And the last item was a roll that had tempura shrimp, crab, avocado, eel, and then your standard spicy mayo and EL sauce. It was outstanding. The only thing I didn't like was the prices. I understand they're inflated for Doordash. I also understand that Doordash provides consistent and constant business to these places and I still don't like the prices. They are comparable to every other place in town though so understand that if you're gonna blow some money on DoorDash and sushi at least get the good stuff at Jimmy's.

Always look at newest reviews!!!…read more We saw the 4.4 red stars and thought this was gona be an amazing place. The first red flag was 1pm on week day and there was only 3 parties in the place. The one and only server was very nice, but being the only one, twice when new parties entered he would walk away. Wife ordered chicken katsu rice plate. The overall theme is everything is bland. EVERYTHING.. Her cabbage slaw/salad had a white creamy sauce, my best guess is mayo mixed with ranch but only if both was every kind of free there is, fat, sugar, carb, keto, and most importantly, taste FREE. Her rice was purple, there were purple chunks, not sure if it was potato, the rice was mushy, wet, and Bland. Her kutsu sauce was made from the same everything free ingredients. Come on man, Kutsu sauce is 3 ingredients and all three are bold flavors, how do you mess that up. But ok, they want to be fusion, maybe add some cilantro or chili. She asked for soy sauce and salt to try and add some flavor. Half way through she has me hold out my hand and pours a handful of the "salt" from the shaker. It was not salt granules, almost looked like a salt substitute. I honestly don't know what it was but when I tasted it I would be extremely generous by saying I got a 25% salt flavor. Normally, you put 2-4 tablespoons of salt in your hand and lick your finger, when you taste that, you get a powerful punch in the mouth of dam, that's salty. I was dumbfounded, if they are using that "salt" to cook with them makes since why everything is so bland. I don't want to repeat the Bland Bland Bland theme over and over. I had bulgogi, kutsu, and BBQ chicken tacos. I will skip to the end- yep, you guessed it, Bland. We did have the bulgogi egg roll, I do want to touch on this only because I was so mad at myself once we left I dug Into the reviews. These are one of the most positive commented items, BUT those comments are from over a year ago. Overall, 11$ for two small egg rolls cut in half is ridiculous. Then if you bite/taste just the egg roll, there is a 5% taste of bulgogi sauce. Which again is so explosive of a sauce. But, If you drown the egg roll in the creamy mild sriracha sauce then the egg roll is ok. If you forget what it should taste like and just concentrate on how did they make the sauce with no heat, then you could get at least a 2-2.5 star. Server deserves 5 stars, Food deserves 2 stars.

As expected, the restaurant was crowded. After thirty minutes, it was hard to find an available table. Food is ordered at a counter, then a waiter takes it to the table. Portions were large. Fried rice tasted just right. It was piled high and I special ordered it without peas. It was prepared correctly. Five stars! Pot stickers were good. 4 stars. For clarity: this rating is off the dim sum and dim sum-type dishes alone. Did not try the baked goods (aside from dan tat) or the rice plates/noodle plates, which seem to make up most of the menu. And the dim sum is... hit or miss. The bok choy is a generous portion, properly cooked, not the most interesting, but not bad. Spicy shrimp won tons are on the small side but tasty, although lacking in the umami that their better-known competitors (especially starting with a "D") begin with. Shu mai (shrimp or chicken, I got shrimp) were the most average/solid of the bunch, which to be fair, is entirely adequate. Har gow looked very pretty, but the skins were too thick, both skins and filling decidedly missing in flavor. The bean curd wrap was giant, super-sized vs. what you'd normally see, and while the bean curd wrap was on-point, the pork filling was pretty plain. This extended to the lo mai gai (sticky rice), which was ENORMOUS, like triple the size of what you'd see at normal dim sum, and similarly plain filling. To their credit, the quality of the stick rice itself was quite good, and the amount of filling was ample. Finally, the dan tat. Crust was a bit too crumbly and lacking in richness of the better ones, and the filling was oddly wrinkled, like it'd cooled too fast. However, the filling quality was good enough. They were busy when I walked in for dinner and were completely full a few minutes later, so much kudos to them-- they clearly are appreciated by the community, and it shows. Some diners at the table next to mine got the usual rice/noodle plates and many left quite full, so portions are good. Kitchen, as busy as they are, is both fast enough and a bit uneven. Short version: you're in Alaska, you can't expect what you get in 415 or 626. However, don't get too carried away either.
