What I got: Beef bop (5/5): beef bulgogi with a mixture of veggies and rice, I got the level X sauce on the side and it was spicy! I loved it!! Would recommend for sure. Spicy pork bop (4/5): classic spicy pork, could taste the gochuchang, sooo much flavor- sweet but spicy. Dynamite bop (3/5): Mixture of imitation crab, shrimp, and scallops. I was not expecting this to be hot, but it was surprisingly tasty. Not sure if I would order again though Thai tea: loved it! Overall 4/5! Absolutely love this place! The food is so fresh and delicious I could eat here every day. I still enjoy the Poke Bop, try getting it spicy, it's amazing! Their Korean spicy chili sauce is the best and really enhances the flavor. The Sashimi is still fresh, cold and perfectly diced. I've been on a low carb kick so I asked for more lettuce and no rice and they did it! My boyfriend gets the teriyaki chicken bap. It's really good too, the amount of chicken in there satisfies any appetite and the sauce is perfect. Love the kimchi (very fresh!) and miso. Service is friendly and helpful. I still can't get over how much trash I make every time I go... But it doesn't seem like using only take-out containers is changing any time soon. I was searching Yelp for cheap sushi or poke, and came across Top Bop. Usually, poke runs between $12-$14 a bowl at the majority of restaurants. Top Bop's poke is $8.99 and they give you a generous amount! If you love teriyaki and beef, or are a meat eater, they have plenty of that. Vegetarians & vegans, you may be able to ask for no meat in these delicious bowls. My experience was very pleasant. The workers were very friendly and attentive. Poor quality of fish! Picked up Poke Bop to go and the cuts of fish were not good. The salmon was so freezer burnt that edges/parts were white and tasted very fishy. It was also obvious that time was not taken while cutting the tuna as large stringy chunks were in the bowl. Underneath that was undercooked rice. TopBop is an Asian-Fusion(? I think) but mainly Korean fast-casual restaurant in Muldoon. Ordered the BeefBop here because it had the highest default spice level. Please note: a 6 is still not very spicy. The ingredients were fresh, but the composition of the flavors in the BeefBop was unremarkable. It was good, but nothing to write home about. I frequent this spot on the regular so I figured it's time for a review. I've been coming in for a few years and I will say the food has suffered somewhat during the pandemic. This place could easily be a 4-5 stars now as they were in 2019 with a little work and attention to detail. I usually get the chicken bop regular which comes on a bed of rice with vegetables and chicken topped with sauce and other goodies. The issues, from my view, is the dry, clumped rice that I often see as well and the poor selection of chicken cuts. I continually see pieces of fat and connective tissues in the chicken, which just isn't appetizing. The taste is good across the board, just needs some minor adjustment. As far as service it's not bad but it could be better at times. I have waited 15-20 minutes for a bowl when they're busy. Why not do more than one bowl at a time? Like I said before, this is a good spot, but it could be a great spot. read more

This was my first time at this place and I don't recall being greeted when I walked in. Though I could be wrong because I was with a party of 6. Seemed as if not much people go here though I don't see why because it's like a hidden gem. On the menu you have about 11 meals if I can recall correctly. They each have a spice level ranging from 0-10+. I'm not much of a spicy kind of gal so I settled for the Teriyaki Bop Bowl with a spice level of 1. In this bowl you get a layer of teriyaki which is at the top and then a layer of vegetables and the bottom of the bowl is a layer of rice. It is so delicious! What a great meal especially for someone who is on the go or doesn't have time to make lunch or dinner! They have a variety of meats such as beef and chicken also an ahi bowl (fish) I have yet to try the other bowls but I really enjoyed their bowls. & for those of you that don't like the meals they've already set up you can build your own bowl. A few years ago this place used to be a fairly decent place for Asian fast food. There was a decent amount and variety of crisp tender vegetables in the bibimbop and the sauce was decent, flavorful and plenty of it. Over the past 2 years, it has cut down on the amount of vegetables and the sauce. Today is the day that I told myself never to give them another chance. My bowl of bibimbop was mainly white rice, a few pieces of meat, a few chili flakes, and no sauce and no vegetables. Basically, it was inedible. I am now in search of better, flavorful, fast food Asian kitchens. read more

I've never seen a fast food bop joint before, but this place is pretty damn good. I feel like you can finally grab some fast food that's actually healthy without costing an arm and a leg, which is hard to do in Anchorage. Tonight was apparently their Grand Opening. I found it on Yelp and saw they did a Poke Bop that looked REALLY good, so that drew me in. Happy I came. My son and I got there later in the day so the place was very quiet. The people working there were very helpful, accommodating, and nice. We got the following to take home: My son got the Burrito Bop: It's the one thing I didn't get a pic of because the kid dug in as soon as it was in front of his pie hole lol. He ate about half of it. Looked pretty good and I did taste it. Lots of veggies made it appeal for me. Tasted pretty good but could have used some cilantro and a little more sour cream. 7/10 Bibim Bop: Had to try this seeing as bibimbap is a signature dish and the pics looked really good. I made the mistake of asking for extra sauce, of which they happily obliged, but I didn't realize the sauce was a chile sauce. Should have asked for the stuff they put on the Poke Bop. 5/10. Rating would have been higher probably without my screw up. Poke Bop: I love sashimi and Poke is a natural extension of it since it's marinated. I first tried Poke while we were still living in the Seattle area and loved it then as I do now. My ideal Poke looks very similar to the way they served this Poke Bop....flavorful sauce, lots of cucumber, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes all over rice. Their Poke Bop did not disappoint and it included my favorite varieties of raw fish...salmon and tuna. The only thing it was missing was pickled ginger, but maybe that's just me. Cilantro would have gone really well with this as well. Still, I give this 9/10. Will be back for mo' fo' sho' lol Mac Salad side: Was sort of hoping this would taste like the hawaiian style I see served at all the Hawaiian joints around here but it was a little too sweet for my tastes. I added mayo and salt to make it better but I probably won't get this again for myself. My son would like it, though. 5/10 Kimchi side: It was only about two years or so ago I tried Kimchi for the first time and it shouldn't surprise me that I kind of like it. It's impossible to screw cabbage up lol. This stuff went great when mixed into the Poke Bop. 9/10. Service: Everyone was very nice and they were quick to get our food out to us. 10/10 Cost: Great by Anchorage standards. Every Bop bowl they serve is under 10 bucks and enough to fill you up for the most part. Sides are also reasonable. 8/10 Ambience: Brightly lit as would be expected for any fast food joint. It was very clean, though. 6/10. Think I found my new Poke joint. Will also try their Top Bop next time. ETA: Came back 11/19/15 and tried the Top Bop. Very tasty! Lots of sauce and veggies and the meatballs themselves were very flavorful. Easy 9/10. If you're hungry, don't want to spend scads of cash, and are looking for healthy food that's fast? We were excited to try Top Bop - it's always great to see new restaurants pop us, especially ones that are reasonably priced. We stopped by last Saturday, and immediately the service was really friendly and attentive. I got the Top Sandwich with a side of macaroni salad, and my husband got the Bibim Bop. I was surprised at how reasonably priced my sandwich was. When it came, I was pleased to see that the bread had been toasted, and that there was a decent amount of vegetables to go along with the meat. The flavor was really good, except for the fact that the meat texture was that of boiled meat. It was not that nice seared texture/flavor that I was hoping to taste. My husband's Bibim Bop was the same - it was good, but could have been great if the meat was cooked correctly - seared, not boiled in it's own juices. If they just cooked it longer (or at a hotter temperature, they would have achieved this. The mac salad was sweet - not a fan. It wasn't bad, just not what I was hoping it would be - I like the Hawaiian-style mac salad. This place could be great if they get figure out how to sear their meat. Not quite sure where all these 5-star reviews are coming from as our experience was awful. There were 3 teenage girls behind the counter. 2 of them actively avoided eye contact while the 3rd was taking an order on the phone. We waited awkwardly to be acknowledged. Finally, I asked if they could take our order and 1 girl said, no, she (motioning to the girl on the phone) has to do it. Another couple of awkward minutes. Then, a young Asian woman approaches the counter. The 2 teenagers immediately jump into action. "Hi! What do you want today? Your usual??" As we watch them start to prepare the bowl, my blood pressure rises. Then, as realization sets in, the 1 girl says "oh, what would you like" to me. After this strange exchange, I go to use the restroom. It was dirty and out of hand soap. I hoped the workers were at least washing their hands in the sink behind the counter. Finally got our food. It was boring, uninspired Americanized Korean bowls. The regular patrons here must lack refined taste or actual Korean heritage. At least it was cheap. Beverage dispenser was broken, so our choices for drink were in a cooler in front of the counter. No tea, coffee, etc. Given the dismal service, atrocious decor, broke down equipment, and lackluster meal, this place will be gone within a year. And nobody will miss it. read more

Just purchased food from this place. This place is located right across the street from us and we thought we should try out this new spot. I ordered the seafood bibim bop and poke bop w/ a side of Mac salad. The prices were about 8.99 each and the Mac salad was 1.99. Let's start off with the poke bop. The look of it on the menu was what made me purchase this. Plus I love sushi. The poke bop was pretty good. I think that it had way too much rice at the bottom for my liking but overall the taste and presentation of the food was great. Now for the seafood bibim bop. I was disappointed when I opened the bowl because if you see what it looks like on the menu it does not look like that at all in the container. To me it looked like just a bunch of shrimp and some pieces of squid tossed in a lot of this reddish sauce. The taste of the sauce was OK. To me it reminded me of ceviche for some reason or when you toss seafood in a lot of cocktail sauce. At the bottom of the container again was a bunch of rice that I didn't really care for. I liked the poke bop instead of this dish.. Macaroni salad for $1.99. I liked the salad very much. Just disappointed with how small the container was. I've purchased sides before from other restaurants for this price range and it was not that tiny. Your basically paying $2 for a really small container that maybe gives you about 2-3 bites depending on how much you can put on a spoon,but I'm using chopstix so its a little harder lol. Definitely would love to try the top bop next time and maybe some of the other stuff on the menu and hope to give this place a better rating. But overall I would recommend trying this place out! read more
