Great spot in Eagle River clean and fast service! Every employee was friendly and helpful we stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and it wasn't packed but had a decent amount of tables. From the outside it looked more like an office than a restaurant but it was well decorated and great ambiance. Rolls were delicious we got the spicy ebi and spicy tuna. Maguro nigiri was fresh and the portion of fish was large I wish I had snapped a picture. Overall recommend for a nice quick meal read more

The ambiance in this Asian/Sushi restaurant was so inviting and relaxing. You could tell right away that the food was authentic and most importantly it tastes and looked so amazing as well! The Asian decor made you feel like you were stepping into the Asian culture. The staff was very friendly and helpful in choosing the appropriate dishes. I was happy that they served local brew on tap and that it was served in a tall glass! The sushi selection was very diverse, which as a sushi lover made me very happy! I was able to choose multiple sushi dishes with Eel and spicy rolls as well. I got the fireball which was spicy but from a spice lover, I'd say it was a medium amount of spicy and perfectly balanced, I loved it! Next, is the deep-fried da bomb roll and I'd say it was named appropriately because it was fantastic! First time eating in at the Lime Leaf, we were greeted by the hostess who was very pleasant, we were seated very quickly. Looking around the restaurant I noticed a beautiful finishes, lighting and authentic Asian inspired decor. The wait staff was equally pleasant and expeditious to bring drinks and take our order. I ordered an app of egg roll and an entree of broccoli beef while she had the shrimp tempura and beef broccoli also. The egg roll was very crunchy in the outside while perfectly cooked on the inside. The beef broccoli came with a rice ball, had good flavor but the sauce was very salty. Overall good but could have been better with less salt. Overall a good meal and experience. read more

So excited Eagle River got another great Asian restaurant! We ordered takeout and everything went smoothly. The hostess on the phone was incredibly polite and the food was ready to go quick. Here's my food breakdown: I got the spicy ebi roll and while it was really good, I don't feel that it's worth 21$. I've had specialty rolls from other places that are just as good and go for 13-16$, so not worth it for me. My husband had the Mongolian beef, and I tried a few bites of it and it was great. The beef was so tender and saucy. It was also a huge portion size, definitely enough for 2-3 servings, so that in I'm opinion is definitely worth it. This place just opened here in Eagle River. I am always so excited when something new opens here in our small town! I have been to Basil Ginger out in Wasilla which it is affiliated with. I was hoping the prices would not be as unreasonable as there...I was wrong. Here's the good things: it's brand new and beautiful. The prawn appetizer was good. The end. Service was fine, nothing special. The sushi pairs are almost if not double the price as other places locally. We opted for the fried rice and kung po. If I'm being honest, the same dishes next door at Panda Express are better. Disclaimer: I will pay good money for good food. Paying these prices for less than mediocre food is just not ok. You can go to Kim's or Jimmy's sushi in town for better sushi and way better prices. read more

Valentine's Day was our third visit to Limeleaf, and I think the best experience so far. Our reservation for two on a major holiday was for 6PM, and we were seated perhaps ten minutes early at a four-place table, with perhaps 50% occupancy of the restaurant (it got busier later on). Our server made an excellent suggestion of a cold Nigori sake, which proved delightful, and our appetizers of chicken lettuce wrap and coconut shrimp were heavenly. I had a sushi/sashimi combination, she the Mongolian beef special, and these, too, were highly enjoyable. MINE, of course, was better--fresh, neatly prepared, of FINE quality. As usual, service was prompt, attentive, yet unobtrusive. All in all, Limeleaf has become our 'go-to' restaurant in Eagle River. Our sole complaint isn't really under the control of the restaurant, I expect, and that's the parking situation. The lot is cramped and poorly lit, with bunches of sharp right-angle turns and little space between rows of vehicles--which explains how our truck got backed into while parked. Ah, well. read more

Recently, July 2023 one of our family members suggested trying this place. Our visit was a very pleasant and surprising experience. It is nice looking from the outside with plenty of parking. The interior decor was so different than most places we've visited in Alaska. The place is beautiful and the aromas coming from the kitchen smelled amazing. We were greeted right away and seated quickly. Our server came over, welcomed us and introduced himself. Erickson was great and he made us feel welcome. Once he learned it was our first visit he offered some suggestions. We had heard about how good the lettuce wraps were and decided to try those as an appetizer. We also had one of the entrees and one dinner special. Everything looked, smelled and tasted amazing! We will be back soon to try some of their other choices. read more

My jumbo shrimp prawns where burned in the walnut mix, I could taste the burned oil. My wife's shrimp cakes where undercooked and too greasy. I hinted my food was burned/overcooked and got no feedback. Overall the staff and waiting was a very un organized young group of girls. Lime Leaf is one of the best restaurants in the pacific west! The service is great! We ordered a lot of food and did a family style, they were quick to remove empty dishes. Went there for the first time today to check it out. Interior. 5 stars. Beautiful Food. 3 stars. I didn't like some of what I got. Super disappointed in the Fresh Roles. Twice the price and full of lettuce and too little shrimp. Basically tasted like lettuce. Didn't care for the General Tso Chicken but the Chicken Lo Mein was good. Service. 4 stars. The atmosphere in here is beautiful. I love the peaceful ambience. The food was exceptional. We enjoyed the freshness, creativity on presentation and the flavors. We tried the chicken curry. The broth was sooooo good. We got the paid Thai with shrimp and it was yummy. We got the rainbow roll and that was devoured immediately. That was fresh and flavorful. I'm so mad that it took me so long to go here's. To be fair, the sign doesn't look like a restaurant sign so for a long time I thought it was a health food store. I'm mad at myself for that. The food is delicious!!! I like dining alone here in off hours so I can take my time and enjoy some sake. The service is always great and fast. It's a little expensive but not out of line. Based on our first visits I would have given Lime Leaf five stars. Unfortunately, first impressions are not always lasting ones. While the ability to make reservations, be seated promptly and served courteously and efficiently are all pluses, the food has to be good, too. Lately the quality has declined, and it seems like there's always something slightly off. Whether it's getting otherwise perfectly cooked vegetables with exclusively asparagus stems, rice that's too mushy or chicken that seems to have been hacked randomly rather than cut to be eaten easily with chop sticks, the perfection that we came to expect initially has evaporated. We'll keep trying, but the trend is not encouraging. Basically, attention to detail may have been sacrificed to serve more customers while maintaining prompt service. We want them to succeed because they are in our neighborhood, they have beautifully appointed premises and their staff appears to be uniformly well trained. At the same time, the only way to succeed is to get honest feedback and fix issues so expectations don't exceed the actual experience. I'll update if future visits reverse the current trend. read more
