How do I give this spot 10 stars?!? I couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. This new distillery in Anchorage was just opening for it's summer hours recently. While still limited, it will be open every day of the week for your enjoyment. I came here with a Groupon for a tasting + cocktail. The woman behind the bar was so incredibly personable and knowledgeable. The flight was three types of vodkas (again, they are new, so nothing aged): blueberry, fireweed, and a third kind. I was super skeptical about the blueberry one (usually they all seem to have a sweet taste or a syrup-y after taste), but this one was so delicious it actually was the reason behind why I chose the aurora borealis as my cocktail of choice. If you haven't seen my pics of it: check it out! Flavored/colored ice... whaaaaa? :D The drink list was plentiful and vibrant, the seating was comfortable, the patio was just about to open, the bathroom had one way glass (just remember to turn it on!), and the distillery was gorgeous. What a true hidden gem where you wouldn't think to look. Well done!

This was our first visit here, we had a very pleasant experience. Cece gave us some background about each vodka prior to pouring our tastings. The ambiance was relaxing, it wasn't crowded for a Saturday evening, just what our group needed to finish a fun-filled day and cheering at the Iditarod race earlier today. Will recommend this place without a doubt! We are happy that this small gem is overcoming the challenges of the distilling industry in Alaska. Keep it up!

Aurora is the best.

What a great place to relax and have a great drink. Stop by on my way to the airport and will definitely be back for more.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff. The place has a warm feel, kind of an Alaska meets contemporary look - very well done. You have the opportunity to walk around to see the distillery process. We ordered a couple of drinks. The staff was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their products. We had the opportunity to sample three different vodkas. I'm not one for drinking vodka straight but the blueberry vodka was yummy. I would recommend the Midnight sun - a strawberry basil drink. Not too sweet and very good. Table snacks were a plus. Definitely recommend stopping in here.

Mandy was our "intoxicator". Great knowledge of the products and great drinks! Did the Groupon and stayed for some cocktails. All were great! Will definitely come again.

I highly recommend visiting! The owner is super nice and passionate about what they do. They are all about supporting local owned business and staying a locally owned company! AND THE PRODUCT IS AMAZING! I will definitely be back!

I had such a wonderful experience here! I found out about it because of their Groupon and upon arrival it was a very personable and fun experience. we got the vodka tasting and not only was the liquor itself very good, the cocktails were very unique and delicious. The atmosphere and the customer service made the experience even better. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

I was searching for a nice cocktail bar for a date night with my husband. I am so glad I found this hidden gem in Anchorage. This place is located in kind of a weird spot with little parking. When you walk inside, the door to the right is to some insurance place and to the left is the distillery. We walked in and were immediately impressed by the vibe and decor. It was small and intimate and the staff were very friendly. We tried the cocktails from their cocktail menu-- midnight sun, Aurora borealis, and sex in the snow. They were all very tasty but the midnight sun was my favorite, it tasted like a strawberry shake. My husband like the aurora borealis. The sex in the snow tasted flowery, which is why we didn't like it-- but someone else might!! The music was great, the ambiance and vibe were great. The music wasn't too loud so you could actually talk to your date instead of yell at them. Their restroom is so amazing, the tiny little details make it so chic. They have a see through door so you have to turn on the privacy switch so the glass can frost over so people can't see you doing your business. I thought that was pretty neat. Overall, definitely recommend this place for an intimate date night. It will definitely be our new go to spot for cocktails.

I've been here twice now, and on this last visit I was really reminded about why I should come here…read moremore often. This place is cozy, cute, and has an absolutely mind blowing craft cocktail selection that frequently rotates. I am big into mixology & craft cocktails. Sadly the scene in Anchorage for cocktails is pretty bleak. We only have a handful of places with a truly decent bar program. With liquor licenses being absolutely insane to purchase I understand why most restaurants opt for a beer & wine only license, but it still makes me sad. This is a distillery first so they are producing their liquors on site. They honestly don't have to have the cocktail program that they do seeing as they aren't a bar, and yet they are absolutely killing it in the creativity department. On my most recent visit I convinced my new yelp friend, Jasmine, to head over here for some Black Friday libations. She entrusted me to be her first espresso martini drinking partner so I had to deliver. When I saw Anchorage distillery had one on their December cocktail list I knew we had to try it. I was not disappointed. It was an extremely well balanced espresso martini. I also got a cinnamon moonshine cocktail called ugly Christmas sweater. This one had toasted marshmallow & maple syrup. The flavors were a bit more watered down in this one, but I think that's just because it was over shaken. Overall this cocktail program is impressive. The bartenders are knowledgeable & efficient. The space is also cozy. Next time you're looking to try a new spot head on over to Anchorage Distillery!

Antonio greeted me at the door and sat me in just a few minutes. I was seated at the bar counter downstairs. A dark intimate hip place. The guys behind the counter were Cory, Kendrick, and another young gentleman I didn't get the name of. They were happy people and it showed. I saw from the yelpers they had Tsukemono (Japanese pickles) and my second favorite Tsukemen (dipping noodles) . I ordered both and was pleasantly surprised to see the pork belly was perfectly roasted, the 6 1/2 min egg was on point, and the noodles and broth were absolutely amazing. I am a Tsukemen fan and this place did it right. I then ordered the matcha pancetta dessert. Whoa! Completely knocked on the floor with the flavors. However this was my birthday dinner so I was particularly disappointed. I reserved a table for three in the whisky bar area. We arrived about five minutes early and were told by one of the hostesses that the party at the table just paid and should be leaving soon. About 20 minutes passed before another said the party still had not left even though one of them talked to the server. Eventually I agreed to have us seated in the main dining room. Almost immediately afterward I saw two parties leave the whisky bar so I asked to be moved there, which according to one of the hostesses is where we originally supposed to be. It was over 30 minutes later when we finally got the table I reserved. This left a sour taste in my mouth and I considered leaving at one point, but I was really looking forward to this dinner. For dinner I ordered the Komorebi Old Fashioned and the Dark Horse as I often do, We also shared the whisky pork buns and everything was delicious. Dessert was not as enjoyable. I ordered their espresso martini, the Electric Stolt, which was decent enough. Lacking on the coffee flavor in my opinion. I also ordered the chocolate birthday cake which, aside from the cherries in the cake, tasted like any generic cake you would get from a grocery store. Their other desserts, like the matcha panna cotta and goma silk bar, are much more flavorable. Service overall was fine, but we got the check before my boyfriend could order another drink so we felt somewhat rushed out. Considering this is the only time I've had issues with being seated for reservations, I would go back, but this was my least pleasant dining experience here, unfortunately.

In the future I think I'd come for an appetizer and a couple of drinks and that's it. I felt the veal was tough on both ordered plates and potentially I would have preferred chicken. That being said the sauce was great. The grappa sauce had amazing flavor and the Marsala sauce also had great flavor. Plus the funghi appetizer was great with the bread. All of it was enjoyable enough for a return visit. This spot has very friendly staff, they move at a classic Alaska pace. Meant for sitting down and enjoying the company of someone you're eating with but not designed for getting in and out the door quickly. The atmosphere feels like a neighborhood hangout -- relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for anything from brunch to dinner. One big improvement since last year is the menu -- it's expanded and gotten so much better. Kudos to the kitchen! We started with appetizers, and the steamer clams were delightfully well-seasoned.. buttered garlic in the white wine-- yum. For mains, the (not pictured) ribeye steak was cooked to perfection requiring no added sauce, pairing perfectly with my rose wine. The ahi tuna was another hit-- the wasabi-mixed sauce with every bite made it better! Portions are generous, and prices feel fair for what you get. Drinks are also a highlight -- solid cocktails (cold & hot), good beer options, and a nice selection of wines by the glass. Service was friendly and attentive, even though the place was busy. It was late in cruise season so ended up just being 4 of us which made this an even more amazing, intimate experience. I cannot say enough about what an incredible experience this tour was. To even call it a tour seems inaccurate since it felt more like we were picked up by an old friend that we hadn't seen in a while who wanted to show us the best of Alaska. I highly, highly, highly recommend this as an alternative to a simple bus transfer to Anchorage. The initial 2 hour drive through "postcard Alaska" was breathtaking and Bryan shared a ton of information about the area, including the earthquake that altered the area topography in amazing ways. The tram to the top of Alyeska was stunning and lunch was tasty among such a gorgeous backdrop. The first brewery in Girdwood was by far our group's favorite stop. Every beer was delicious, our host, Jake, was fun and knowledgeable, and they made us feel like family. We could have stayed all day. The second stop at the Anchorage Distillery was super informative, the staff very friendly and the cocktail was superb. Throughout all of this I cannot stress enough Bryan's professionalism, kindness, and depth of knowledge about Alaska. You can tell he takes immense pride in what he does and that he's forged deep and meaningful relationships with the vendors on the tour.
