Highly recommend this Anchorage distillery. We were the only patrons for most of our visit. We enjoyed their selection of vodka spirits and samples. Their menu is innovative. Loved their fireweed alpenglow, although the spiciness of their blueberry naughty was the best! Their bartender during Christmas week couldn't have been friendlier and more knowledgeable. Fun little place that is squared away on King Street in industrial park. But don't let the outdoor decor fool ya, the tasting room is fun little place. Found this place via other Yelp reviews - so thanks for that! We stopped in on a Friday night around 6:30pm. One person was working and there was a 4 person line to order drinks. First impression: it is dark and small. The drinks were okay - I didn't care for the Fireweed drink I got, but the color and presentation was really nice. They do have a free popcorn machine - so that is always a plus in my book. I think they should have had two staff working on a Friday night, dirty glasses were piling up, and the one female bartender was getting overworked with a line of 6 people - not to mention each drink is very unique and takes a few minutes to make. read more

How do I give this spot 10 stars?!? I couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. This new distillery in Anchorage was just opening for it's summer hours recently. While still limited, it will be open every day of the week for your enjoyment. I came here with a Groupon for a tasting + cocktail. The woman behind the bar was so incredibly personable and knowledgeable. The flight was three types of vodkas (again, they are new, so nothing aged): blueberry, fireweed, and a third kind. I was super skeptical about the blueberry one (usually they all seem to have a sweet taste or a syrup-y after taste), but this one was so delicious it actually was the reason behind why I chose the aurora borealis as my cocktail of choice. If you haven't seen my pics of it: check it out! Flavored/colored ice... whaaaaa? :D The drink list was plentiful and vibrant, the seating was comfortable, the patio was just about to open, the bathroom had one way glass (just remember to turn it on!), and the distillery was gorgeous. This was our first visit here, we had a very pleasant experience. Cece gave us some background about each vodka prior to pouring our tastings. The ambiance was relaxing, it wasn't crowded for a Saturday evening, just what our group needed to finish a fun-filled day and cheering at the Iditarod race earlier today. My boyfriend and I stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff. The place has a warm feel, kind of an Alaska meets contemporary look - very well done. You have the opportunity to walk around to see the distillery process. We ordered a couple of drinks. The staff was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their products. We had the opportunity to sample three different vodkas. I'm not one for drinking vodka straight but the blueberry vodka was yummy. I would recommend the Midnight sun - a strawberry basil drink. Not too sweet and very good. Table snacks were a plus. Definitely recommend stopping in here. read more

I was searching for a nice cocktail bar for a date night with my husband. I am so glad I found this hidden gem in Anchorage. This place is located in kind of a weird spot with little parking. When you walk inside, the door to the right is to some insurance place and to the left is the distillery. We walked in and were immediately impressed by the vibe and decor. It was small and intimate and the staff were very friendly. We tried the cocktails from their cocktail menu-- midnight sun, Aurora borealis, and sex in the snow. They were all very tasty but the midnight sun was my favorite, it tasted like a strawberry shake. My husband like the aurora borealis. The sex in the snow tasted flowery, which is why we didn't like it-- but someone else might!! The music was great, the ambiance and vibe were great. The music wasn't too loud so you could actually talk to your date instead of yell at them. Their restroom is so amazing, the tiny little details make it so chic. They have a see through door so you have to turn on the privacy switch so the glass can frost over so people can't see you doing your business. I thought that was pretty neat. Overall, definitely recommend this place for an intimate date night. It will definitely be our new go to spot for cocktails. read more

This has to be my favorite distillery in town! From the relaxing environment to the amazing employees. If you're from out of town and want to experience a local distillery, this is the spot to go. When we first walked in the young lady working was super nice and helpful. The set up of the distillery was very relaxed and looks like it would be a good place to have drinks with friends. However the female owner was not very personable when she walked in and didn't seem to care about the customers who where there as she set up a real estate seminar and took up the entire building. We were rushed to get our cocktails and We never received a tour that was included and where told to come back a different day. We were pushed to a back room as the owner said she did not want to bore us with her real-estate seminar. We no longer felt welcome in the building and left. The drinks where good but I would prefer Anchorage Distillery over this one. First impressions matter and I don't think the owner cares much for the distillery business or the costumers that enjoy it. I'm disappointed we took our out of town guests here. read more
