This is my first time to Get Air in Poway. I live in Riverside a Co. and traveled all the way down just to attend a party. I was amazed at this experience tonight. Without a doubt, I believe this is absolutely not a good place to bring children with the management issues that they have. In fact, I've come to write this review hoping others think before they act. And sadly, reading some of the other reviews just before this, I'm amazed that the management continues to do business in the manner they do. Please have the patience to read all about the manager YELLING at the children in another party and causing a scene and closing her party and calling the cops on her parents.
First, I saw tonight seven parties going at once plus randoms. A older gentleman got hurt, I think broke his thigh bone, and we all watched as the paramedics came in to care for him, strap him to the thing and roll him out after maybe 45 mins. During this time our kids were all escorted upstairs to eat and have cake. There were three families upstairs at this time. After all of the children in our group were served, we adults went to eat our pizza off to the side against the way where there were a set of couches. These couches were perpendicular to the last area where another family was celebrating.
They had about ten little girls, age ten or so. There were the parents and a couple other parents in that group, maybe five adults. One male, the father. As we ate our pizza I saw him begin to serve his girls pizza. Half of them had their pizza when all of a sudden a young worker female, maybe 17 yrs old came up with her manager and shouted he pushed her. This happened in front of our party as well. We sat and watched what happened. The father was like "what? No. I didn't push her." There was discussion about pizzas. He said they paid for four pizzas. He walked away from the girl and came towards our group, his face in his hands. He said "what is going on?" Irregardless, we stayed out of it at this point. The manager Amanda came in very harshly. She did not "talk" to him or any adults there, she was angry and loud and harsh. She wanted them out. No discussion or quiet adult talk or anything. She literally told them they needed to leave and the mother and other mothers of the group came over and asked what was going on? The manager went over to the table where the children were and literally bent over the table, closed the pizza box very fast and rough, grabbed it off the table and YELLED at the little girl, "blame your parents!!" The little girl literally stood up, the parents were trying to gather all the food and freaked out obviously at the surprise of things, and the little girl backed to the wall and began yelling " you're ruining my birthday!!!! What are you doing? Followed by, "I hate my life, she ruined everything!" Now there's about six girls crying, the manager meanwhile is roughly yanking, and I mean, yanking things off the table and telling them to get out. So there's another mother trying to help get the girls downstairs, the parents are hurrying, and seriously, I was like, ok, this is enough! That girl (manager) went over the line! My cousin agreed. We followed them downstairs after a couple minutes because the manager also followed this family outside while they had to wait for the cops and parents to pick up the children. I felt that once this manager began yelling at the children, it almost didn't matter what she claims happened. Frankly, there were nearly forty other adults up there. I'm not sure what was claimed happened or what did happen. What upsets me is how this was handled.
We went down, asked the plain clothed woman with multicolored hair if she were the manager. She said she was. I thought it inappropriate that she was yelling at the child and that if dealing with children is her business she handled this wrong and I didn't want to see her arguing her yelling at the children anymore, which she was outside doing still, or at their parents. She said she would speak to me about my concerns later. My cousin and I then told her no, she should take her concerns with the parent away from the children. I told her it was completely inappropriate for her to yell at the children. She denied it. So I told her what she exactly said, and she admitted, "yes I did say that" unapologetically. I further said that threatening the child and yelling at the girl and her parents and basically yelling to the girl she was calling the cops on her parents needed to stop now. Honestly, this "girl" lost her mind and had no right to be managing a place for children and parents. FOUR police did show up in front of all the children. Of course, we went back down to share how the manager escalated and threatened the children and parents, in front of everyone. Obviously, risk your own party to go here under this persons management. If she'd yelled at any child in my own party....??????? read more
