Play space
Stephanie B.

I took my son to Bluebird Play for their free play / holiday event. I came right when they open at 9am, afraid it would be super packed, but to my surprise, there were only a few other kids there at the time. We signed the digital waiver, confirmed we had grip socks, and went right into the play space. The play space was adorable, fun, and perfect for toddlers! The staff prioritized safety and limited the space to 25 kids. It did get pretty crowded and a bit chaotic around 9:45/10am, but that is likely because of the free day and that Santa was coming at 10am. They also had a guitarist who mentioned he gives music lessons there weekly on Saturdays. I imagine it wouldn't normally be at max capacity on a regular business day. As far as regular business, it is $25 for the whole day (can leave and return) which seemed very reasonable. They are open for birthday parties as well. My son had an absolute blast! They had five main areas to the space - two princess like area with dress up outfits, a pink house with play kitchens, dolls, a pirate ship, a treehouse with legos, and a fenced in baby area. Three of the play structures had slides from the second floor. All of the structures were made of wood, as well as the toys (play food, cars and trucks, etc). The floor was foam padded as well. They have nice couches for parents to sit and a cute bookstore in the lobby and also some snacks for purchase. They have a parking lot, that to my surprise, was also not full! They are located on the second floor above the OB Noodle house. A perfect location to grab a bite after or check out the beach. Really loved this concept and the space. We will definitely return!

The sweetest and most intentional kids play place! We've gone a few times for open play and hosted our daughter's 4th birthday party here - the fairytale theme was perfect for her princess party! Amanda and her team and so kind and easy to work with when booking the space. We also found their rates to be very reasonable - both for the open play and the party packages. We love Bluebird and would highly recommend it to others!

Imaginative play room. Ever cuter space in person.

Highly recommend this kids play space. We brought 5 and 7 yr old kids to this indoor bookstore and play area. The kids LOVED it and so did the parents. For kiddos who enjoy imaginative play, this space is fantastic. There are beautifully crafted castles, costumes, slide, tree house, ship, etc. with lots of bright light, a kids bookstore, clothing and snacks for sale, and a small outdoor patio area to eat. There is also a small parking lot below the shop. Dan is one of the owners and he was super kind and patient with the kids. Also, they allow you to purchase your day pass admission without any strict timer. You can use the full day pass till closing and then return if you step out. We will recommend to our friends and also return. Thank you.

One of the best indoor play spaces in the city! Always clean, inviting, and so much fun. My crew is all smiles at Bluebird Play. Sanitary for new crawlers, safe for new walkers, and endless entertainment for the seasoned toddler. Bluebird is where the careful imagination and rough and tumble personalities can find a common ground. We love it!

It's like if someone crossed a SkyZone Trampoline Park with a McDonald's Playpen and slapped it with a coat of pastel paint and candy stickers. Sorry, CANDEE stickers. I will say that the prices are very reasonable. $25 buys you two hours of playtime. Grip socks are extra, food is extra, some of the games are extra. And the area itself is impressively clean, especially considering the number of young children traipsing about. On the negative side of things, however, the list is a bit longer. First, there's not a ton to do. Candeeland has limited space to work with and much of it is taken up by sitting areas for parents. The empty space could easily house 2-3 more small activities without sacrificing any existing areas. Still, what activities they do have are pretty intricate, with the multilevel play area having a nice array of padded areas for children to crawl through and a toddler area with nice pneumatic tube setup to delight the young. Next, even though the place is less than a year old, there's already some breakage of some of the area. There's a floor made up of touch screens that displays numerous games for kids to step on a play with. However, it's apparent that some larger kids have smacked a number of screens, causing them to go out or flicker. Which leads to my biggest issue. There are not that many people working here. This means that there are usually people minding the gate and checking if your kid is leaving with the right person. But, there aren't enough people on the floor to ensure safety or police older kids from doing things they shouldn't be doing. Candeeland really is a place that caters to those between 3-8 years of age. Older kids either don't fit on some of the slides or play a bit too rough with the environment. More than once, a screaming 12 year old almost barreled over my kid, knocked her off a slide, or hit her with one of the nerf axes. Sure, they balk when you glare at them. But, they just go back to screaming and thrashing about while their parents sleep oblivious in the corner. So, does my seven year old like Candeeland? Yes, she loved it and wants to come back. Did I like Candeeland? M'eh, not particularly. Still, I'm sure I'll be back eventually...

It could be an amazing space for families. Unfortunately, the facility feels very neglected. The mirrors are covered in fingerprints, some of the equipment is ripped or heavily patched, and overall the place feels worn and unloved. As a parent, I found myself seriously questioning the cleanliness and upkeep of the environment. A children's gym should feel clean, cared for, and safe. Right now, this place feels like it needs attention, maintenance, and pride of ownership. With some deep cleaning, repairs, and regular upkeep, it could easily become a wonderful community space again.

I observed Tommy coach a group of older elementary students on Thursday evening and he not only had excellent control of a group of 6 kids, he also designed exercises and courses that were not only well thought out they were effective in keeping kids engaged and on task. On the following Saturday I brought my 6 year old grand son to his level two ninja class where Tommy was his coach. My grandson was feeling nervous but Tommy quickly and effectively encouraged him to do his best in all he did. Tommy devised back to back activities to not only challenge my grandson but also encourage and develop needed skills for my grandson to continue to advance in his Ninja training. I appreciate the time Tommy took to reassure my grandson and help him gain confidence. As a teacher, I'm well aware that not all coaches are able to manage a group of children and I'm grateful KidWonder has found an excellent coach like Tommy!

My friend held her daughter's 1st bday party here. The party was beautifully decorated (my friend…read moretold me that they handle set up and breakdown), so you don't have to worry about anything other than attending! I will say the only downside of this venue is that it's not really optimized for parties (which makes sense bc their main gig is the play area for the kids - and they have plenty of room to run around). Seems like you can bring your own food/drinks in which is really nice! There isn't that much space available for the adults/bystanders. The staff were really friendly, and welcomed us right when we walked in. Checked us in and explained the rules of the playground (shoes off, socks on), restrooms were outside in the hall (keys available at front desk).

The only positive is the indoor playground. Everything else from customer service to the baking activity was a complete letdown. The front desk staff was extremely rude to multiple guests while checking waivers (who gave us feedback afterwards). Instead of welcoming families, they acted irritated and dismissive. From that moment on, it felt like they were more focused on catching us break rules than providing even basic customer service. We paid $17 per child for 20 kids for the baking activity, and it was terrible. Several parents shared that the staff told children to "stand still or you won't get your cake pop" . Only two parents were allowed inside to supervise 20 kids. All kids were crammed around one table despite several empty tables sitting unused in kitchen. Kids were shoulder-to-shoulder while staff watched sternly. My daughter even said it was the "worst birthday ever," which was heartbreaking. On top of the $500+ facility fee and $340 baking charges, we agreed on $150 cleaning fee because we decided to bring outside food. We were provided only (1) table for food, and when we asked for additional tables for food and kids art, we were told they "didn't have any." They suggested placing the kids' artwork right next to the food. The nickel-and-diming continued nonstop... In addition, we paid: $20 each for two toddlers who stayed in the playground $50 extra for five adults (we exceeded the capacity of 40 guests) We had to push our guests out (it was embarassing!!) since we were told we would be charged $50 per 10 minutes if we went over the extremely tight 10-minute cleanup window. They do not allow decor on wall or even outside balloons, which is absurd for a kids' party venue. They sell the decorations in house though. By the end, I felt like we spent the entire party being watched, policed, and corrected rather than supported. Staff members hovered pointing out "rules" instead of helping create a good experience for the kids. BOTTOM LINE: The playground may look fun, but the staff, policies, and overall experience are terrible. Save yourself the headache, frustration, and unnecessary fees. Book your party somewhere else!!
