My son started this…read moreclass when he was 12-months-old, and it was one of the first social things he was able to do after COVID cases started to slow down. I am so glad we found this class. My son completed all three sessions, as well as the storybook 4 week class during the summer. At 20-months-old, he can sign about 47 words, and about half of those are words he signs regularly (i.e. more, food, water, milk, diaper) and the other half are words he signs occasionally (i.e. crocodile, owl, flower, stars). Not only did this class help with socializing (for both of us!) but I noticed that once he started signing, he also started to speak some more as well, and is now up to about 25 words verbally. And now that my son is almost 2-years-old and becoming more "moody," signing has helped to decrease a lot of the frustration he feels since he is able to communicate what he needs and I can pick up on it faster than had we not taken this class. For instance, one day he was inconsolable and finally signed "pain" and pointed at his foot, and sure enough, there was a cut underneath his toe. I was able to take care of it and soothe him, which helped the crying to stop. We completed all of our classes outdoors at Morely Field in North Park which our family really enjoyed, but I believe the classes will eventually transition back indoors. If you are wondering if this class is for you and your baby, wonder no more. Monta's Baby Sign Language class is a great investment of your time and money, and being able to communicate more with your baby is absolutely priceless. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed, supported, and truly cared for. Each class feels so creative and intentional. You can tell how much time, love, and effort Ms. Yuru puts into making every class engaging, interactive, and developmentally meaningful for the kids. As parents of a preemie, watching our son grow and thrive in her class has meant so much to us. We've seen him build confidence, reach important milestones, and become more curious and engaged week after week. He genuinely lights up during class, and as parents, there's nothing better than seeing your child so happy and excited to learn!! What makes the experience truly special is Ms. Yuru!! She is incredibly warm, patient, caring, and genuinely loves every child in her class. She creates such a positive and encouraging environment where every child (and parent) feels included and supported. It's so clear how much heart she brings into what she does, and we are beyond thankful for the impact she has had on our son and our family. Seeing so many parents return and re-enroll their children session after session is a true reflection of how meaningful, impactful, and beneficial Ms. Yuru's class has been for our children's growth and development. 1000/10 will recommend this class! A little bit of the structure of the class. The class meets once a week for 45 minutes, and every session is so thoughtfully planned. At the beginning of each session (which runs for 6 weeks), we receive a box (like the size of a medium sized shoe box) with instructions and materials of what to bring to class each week. Ms. Yuru does a great job of warning us of the potential hazards some of the materials pose so that we are extra careful when playing with our children at home. There is also a warning on the instructions inside the box for reassurance.

The classes are held in a colorful, carpeted studio and led by warm and welcoming teachers, many of whom have some form of early education training or experience teaching or working with children in their fulltime jobs. The program at Nightingale has been running for over 20 years, and Jennifer has it dialed to perfection. Each 8-week session has its own theme ("Hooray for the Holidays"; "Mother Goose Rock & Rhyme"; "Wonderful World of Music" to name a few) and its own theme-related songs, but the rhythm of the classes is consistent from week to week and session to session, providing an ideal environment for this tender age whose brains thrive on routine. The school also has an incredibly generous makeup policy to allow for any planned family vacations or unplanned family illnesses, and visiting family members and friends are always welcomed to watch or participate in class. My daughter attended her first Nightingale Music session when she was just 7 months old, and has been consistently enrolled since she was about 14 months. Now at two and a half, she can sing her solfege scale on pitch, and understands the fundamentals of rhythm, tempo, and dynamics. She stops and dances whenever we hear music out in the world (or asks me to play music on my phone so she can dance in our backyard), and sings constantly. She's made friends with some of the other kids in her cohort, imprinted onto a few of her teachers, and Jennifer has made us feel like part of a larger Nightingale family from the very start. As a 70% SAHM, I've tried out a lot of Mommy-and-Me type classes around San Diego, but Nightingale is the one that we've stuck with, and the one that I would most recommend.

It teaches kids not only the "standard" yoga poses, but also dives deeper into the history and meaning behind it, to give kids a fuller picture of what they are doing. Sünje also includes breathing techniques and reflection as part of the yoga class, to give kids tools on how to regulate themselves. They also have a little booklet to add their connection with yoga through drawings or journaling. I thoroughly enjoy seeing my daughter being her happy little self when she does yoga at home now, "teaching" me how to do it. We are already looking forward to the next yoga class with Sünje and her team!

I appreciate that they teach not only drawing but used different mediums such as water colors, oil pastels, and colored pencils. Monart is also offered at her school for after school programs. It's been very popular and another great addition to her school curriculum. I can't write enough good things about Mozart. From the kind, patient and helpful staff to the ace instruction they provide to the kids. This is a perfect place for Mommies with young children. Bridges Connect! offers fun, stimulating classes/activities for kids and great Zumba, Pilates and Yoga classes for adults! My 4 year old son loved the Kids Dance adventure class. He had so much fun and used so much energy that he actually took afternoon naps on the days he went to class (which he rarely does anymore)! While he had fun in class, I could sit in the beautifully decorated, comfortable Connect! lounge, read a magazine, check emails or just relax! My 18 month old son loved the Kids Connect! Club. He played in there happily with the wonderful, trained and caring staff while I took Zumba or Pilates. He actually cried when it was time to leave!! You don't have to have kids to come here. The adult fitness classes are great and reason enough to come! The space is gorgeous and so CLEAN! The staff is great! They offer activities for the whole family. The best part of coming here is that my kids are having fun, learning (through play and dance) and I even manage to get a little time for myself at the same time! I love it here!
