This review was for the Laurel location, placed here by accident.... But I do support this company for it's quality. Shoutout to our local community heroes! We are truly thankful for our continued experience with Gerber over the years. We have already been treated so professionally at this location for several of our car repairs. Today is a no exception, we were taken great care of from the receptionist to the quick inspection. Pictures were taken of our truck and then the information went into the computer. I waited comfortably in the lobby area safe from the weather and elements. We just need to come back for the repair and car rental. Enterprise Car rental is conveniently next door which is so nice! Phenomenal customer service. Unfortunately two other cars hit mine within a two week period. Insurance issues aside, Gerber was great. They worked directly not only with all of the insurance agencies; they also worked with the local car rental place so that I simply dropped my rental off at Gerber and drove my car home when it was finished. How cool is that?? Gerber's communications are wonderful. They call Tuesdays and Thursdays with updates, assuming your car is in for the long haul. I also got numerous text messages with updates. Their staff is polite and professional. They answered every question I had, regardless of the level of stupidity. They also managed to figure out which damage was for which claim, as it got slightly confusing due to two crashes at once. Cannot say enough good about this place. Highly recommended ... but I honestly hope you never need them!! read more

I went to laurel location first and had some issues, but was sent to this location in Jessup and dealt with Tammy and she was amazing. They fixed all the issues without a complaint and was super nice and did it all quickly as well. Very happy with this location even going to have them work on a second car of mine they did such great work. Ask for Tammy and she will take care of you for sure!!! I initially was going to another Gerber location but switched to this one because they were able to get me serviced faster. So glad I made that switch. The only reason they get two stars is because my car looked good when I finally received it. They're communication is terrible. Almost everyone you speak to gives you a different answer than the last person. They talk to you like you don't know what you're talking about and it's not until you begin to get frustrated or irate that they even make an attempt to answer your questions. Do Not Get your car repaired HERE!!! They stole my employees reading glasses. I was sent here by liberty mutual as a referred vendor after accident. Yes I was asked to remove valuable stuff as we did but to steal a customer reading glasses is down right TERRIBLE! They has since made no attempts at replacing or reimbursement. Would never recommend and I'm following up with insurance company today to get them removed from vendor list!!! read more

I got there about 10 mins before my "appointment", filled out the obligatory paper work and sat down to listen to the "show" . Nobody working but maybe half a dozen staff members smokin' n jokin' in then next room shouting about F*** this Customer and F*** that customer and F*** Geico... Waited about 20 minutes for some one to come out and do some work (meaning my estimate) But I guess I was one of the F*** You customers... No thanks...Will use someone more professional read more

Unfortunately we hit a deer along interstate 70. Gerber in Ellicott City did an outstanding job with our minivan. The process couldn't hace gone any better. They worked well with Usaa and helped coordinate us getting a car with enterprise.I appreciated the good communication throughout the process and they turned it around pretty quickly. If you need collision repair this is the place to go! Everyone here goes out of their way to put the customer first and to be flexible understanding that when people are without their car it is very difficult. They take every action to make things as painless as possible. I must say that Tammy the general manager is absolutely fantastic! She really went above and beyond. Taylor at the front desk is fantastic as well. She is a great communicator and communication is crucial. Nick who worked on my vehicle and test drove with me was detail oriented and you could tell he really cared about doing getting my vehicle to top running condition. Separate from the customer service aspect, the repairs on my vehicle made it look new again. I am grateful for their service and will be using them in the future should the unfortunate need arise. I never thought that a car repair process would be so stress-free and pleasant. Obviously, the experience was stressful because I had just started work and now my new car was damaged. However, the people at Gerber Collision were efficient, professional, and friendly from beginning until the end. When I first walked in, a female receptionist, a man (whom I didn't catch his name), and Ben were polite and assessed the damage quickly. Jeff from Geico and Jerald from Enterprise were both present promptly at 8am. I secured an excellent weekly rate from Enterprise (located on Assateague drive) and Jeff didn't downplay the damage. I was out within 30 minutes in a rental car. As my car was being repaired, Gerber called me once to give me an update while the Geico rep called me the very first day to give me an estimate of the repairs. The lady on the phone was very polite and informative. Gerber was able to honor their original time frame estimate and was even able to meet me early (right before 8am again) so that I could get to work on time. In terms of the quality of the repair, I may have to give an updated review months or years down the road since the true quality of the repair cannot be assessed during the short term. However, upon careful inspection when I picked the car up, the car looks just as good as new. Gerber also offers a lifetime warranty, which gives me a piece of mind. I recommend Gerber to all Geico customers who are in need of an honest and efficient body shop. read more

DO NOT trust this shop to work on your car. The mechanics here are completely incompetent, and I very narrowly avoided a major accident due to their "repairs." My car had significant suspension damage after it went over a median in an accident. Originally, I took the car to National Tire and Battery, which estimated the repairs would be $2100. When we decided to go through insurance, we had to take the car here because they're partnered with USAA. Gerber estimated the repairs would be $230. Based on NTB's estimate, we knew this couldn't be right. We called Gerber and told them everything NTB had told us about the damage. We spoke to a mechanic, and told him that the strut had gone through the housing, the upper and lower control arms were bent, and the strut fork needed to be replaced. He told us he had been doing this for 27 years, he knows what he's doing, and he "disagreed" with NTB's assessment. Gerber insisted the strut fork was the only part that needed to be replaced. They replaced the strut fork and... surprise, surprise, it still didn't work. I waited a week for them to order and replace another part (they didn't tell me which one), and it still wasn't fixed. Then they decided to replace essentially everything on the left front suspension, just like NTB had said. So I waited another week for that to happen, then got my car back. It seemed to drive okay when I got it back, except when I accelerated from a dead stop you could tell there wasn't any traction in the left front tire. I didn't want to take my car back to Gerber and have no transportation for another month, so I decided to keep driving it and just keep an eye on whether it got any worse. Five weeks after I got my car back from Gerber, the suspension suddenly failed while I was driving on the highway. I didn't go over a pothole, I didn't run over anything, it just gave out. My front left wheel locked up and wouldn't turn. I somehow (miraculously) managed to pull my car over onto the shoulder without hitting anyone, although I came within inches of doing so. I was forced (by USAA) to bring my car back to Gerber since the repairs were under warranty. They admitted that the suspension failure was their fault, due to a loose bolt on the lower control arm. The manager spoke to my parents about the repairs (since they are the policy holders on our insurance), but never bothered to call me and apologize for what happened. (He claims my parents told him not to contact me, which is a lie.) I never spoke to him until I came to the shop to pick up my car, and he acted like the whole thing was a joke. He told me I should be smiling. I guess they don't care that their negligence could have seriously injured me, as long as they don't get sued for it. I will update this review when this round of repairs inevitably fails, assuming I don't end up in the hospital next time. read more

I visited this establishment after reading the reviews here on Yelp. They have exceeded my expectations. John Lasher kept me informed every step of the way, and walked me through the process. He is the reason I gave 5 stars. His communication was impeccable and very professional. I received general text, but John also went out of his way to call to let me know exactly what was taking place with the rebuild of my car. I wished they did more than collisions because I would make them MY auto place. Hopefully, I would not have to visit them again, but if I am ever in need of this work again, I am going back to Gerber in Jessup, MD. Someone rear ended my vehicle. The offenders insurance recommended this place for service. So I decided to take it here for repair due to the close proximity to my home. John Lasher assisted me. He was very polite and professional on the offset. He took ALOT of pictures of my vehicle. Not just the damaged portion the ENTIRE vehicle. I was okay with that. So I go to pick up my vehicle and there is damage to one if the rear tire rims. It was some type of plastic that looked like it had been dried to the rim. I told John I dont recall seeing that particular damage on my rim prior to bringing my car to the shop. He kinda shrugged his shoulders and said damage did not come from shop. I asked him to go view the pictures he had taken, he refused. I did not want to stand there and argue with John and thought this was something that could be washed off. It did not wash off. It is permanent, I have even had detailers try to remove it. John knew they had damaged my rim and did not want the company to be held responsible that is why he refused to go back and look at the pictures. He also "told" me not asked me to leave a positive review. He told me if I was thinking about leaving a negative review not to do it because it affects their rating. I dont give a rats behind about your rating. You didnt give a rats behind about my damaged rim and refused to go back and look at the 100+ pictures you took to squash my claims. If you must use this place make sure to take your own before pictures. read more
