So I dropped off my car here for an estimate on brakes. Rafael was on the phone behind the cashier…read moreregister and did not want my business. He was saying they are very busy and I saw zero motivation by him. Within 2 hours he called me saying I need $800 repair for brake leak, my caliper, brake hose and parking brake motor needs replacing. My pregnant wife went to pick up our car and Rafael started harassing her for $60 diagnostic fee. I would have loved to pay $60 fee had anyone told me about it. Not mentioned even once, when I was there to drop off my car. I refused on the phone. Told my wife to never come there. This is the reason why shops get a bad name. Rafael was on the phone the entire time I talked to him. He doesn't want this job. Took the car to another shop down the road, guess what only thing that was needed to be replaced was a single caliper. $225 job only and they bled the brakes and everything. Avoid this place.

I had an overheated engine and pulled in last minute just before they close. Raphael was very…read morepolite and explained that they will not be able to do anything that day as they needed to wait for the engine to cool down. He explained to me their diagnostic fee and that he will let me know if it is a big repair. Fortunately, it was not a big issue. He did point out that I should look at other issues and recommended what I need to look out for, he did not pressure me into fixing them immediately. He even pointed out the business next door for a rental to help me get home. I was about 50 miles from home so I felt very thankful for this upfront and honest service center.

Wow. What can I say other than they definitely exceeded my expectations. I had to come in because…read moresome lady sideswiped my Honda Civic a couple months back, as I don't drive the car often I didn't feel the need to get it replaced until a friend of mine recommended them for their lower price. Definitely didn't expect the car to come out looking as good as it did. I'm a very worrisome guy when it comes to leaving my car at shops because of bad experiences in the past, but wow, my car looks brand new again. I called on a Saturday to ask for updates and the manager Herzel answered, and told me that the car was just coming out of paint and he'd send a picture of it. I was completely shocked to see the side that got hit looked completely new! If you want top quality work, from an honest professional who will absolutely accommodate you when you have worries, without a doubt come to ACI Auto Body. You can definitely tell that they care about attention to detail, and even fixed an extra dent in the rear that wasn't on the estimate after asking me about it, for a very small fee! Never going to another shop again after the wonderful experience I had here.

I would recommend following up over the phone for updates, but they did a great job of working with my insurance (GEICO) on necessary repairs beyond the original estimate. I was happy with the final job!

Introduction to why I was here:…read more About to wrap up the 2nd of the two 2024 runner-ups now with C is for Carbody Collison Center, in alphabet series and will be getting to 2025 picks + runner-ups simultaneously. In October 2023 while on 495 on near the PG/Montgomery County border, hundreds of motorcyclists were causing chaos and very slow traffic on that Sunday gathering on the side blocking lane and lane splitting between the slow cars. This was insane and incredibly annoying. One of the motorcyclists rammed into my car while lane-splitting. He flipped his motorcycle. He picked up his motorcycle stumbled off to the side, and I tried to get the heck out of there as I didn't want to risk my safety with this awful motorcycle gang. Once I got to where I was going about 45 minutes later, I saw the damage, which wasn't horrible, but it wasn't just some minor nick. Visits here: That next day or two, I shopped around a bit in Laurel & North Laurel, and Carbody Collison had a better rate than the others. Also, Bob was kind and empathic to what happened. It wasn't urgent, but it could become a problem more so in winter because of snow/road salting as bottom part had to be replaced. I wanted to wait to see if insurance would go through, but they refused to cover it. Ultimately, that January 2024 we started the process, but it was going to take some time to get the part needed and would take them some time to do all the repairs. We agreed I'd drop the car off when I was going out of town; I rideshared to BWI airport. A week later I got back to town. Although they had agreed on finishing by then, there was something that was delayed even though we had agreed I come back that Friday afternoon, which I took a rideshare to get from my place to there, which isn't that far. Bob was nice enough to at least let me use a loaner car as I had a couple of other things I was doing, drove home, and then came back in the late afternoon. There was a bit of a tiff over windshield wipers they had replaced, which I thought was going to be cheaper, which I said I didn't agree to that much. He didn't want to continue to too much arguing and credited for either free or nominal price. I drove off to Columbia where I was going that evening. As I was driving back on MD-32 at US 1, I heard a loud noise like something was scrapping on the road. I got off at the next exit and went to the Savage MARC train station parking garage to see what was going on. I saw the piece hanging down. I snapped back in place, which got me home. But then the next day, I went down again, I stopped at a place in Laurel that I knew was open on Saturday. They did a temporary fix to get me through the weekend. I revisited on Monday, explained what happened. Bob apologized seeing what was going on; some screw was missing. He quickly got the staff to put back in while I waited there. In summary, Bob was overall nice & empathic except for a bit of heated discussion over price of an unrelated windshield wiper. I liked the price relative to other places (although I still didn't like as it wasn't cheap). They did a good job overall, but the missing bolt issue was annoying. They did a good job on timelines, but still a bit off on that, but at least got the loaner car for that afternoon as they were wrapping stuff up. This was mostly positive, and while there were some negatives, Bob did do a good job alleviating the negatives.
