Yelp helped me find Galvin's on a recent business trip through KY. So it is only appropriate to post a review of my own. Menu is straightforward -- sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups, made-to-order pizza and calzones. I had a cup of tortilla soup -- which was not prepared in the traditional way with a chicken-based broth, avacado, chips and pulled chicken. Nonetheless, it was homey and delicious. I also had their chicken salad salad with grapes and dried cranberries. The negative was the heavy use of iceberg lettuce. But the serving size and balance of veggie to meat was perfect. The waitstaff were all friendly and welcoming. There are TVs over the bar, so if you want to watch the game, you certainly can. The vibe was family friendly and people seemed to know each other pretty well. Kids walked (sometimes ran) between tables. Prices are completely reasonable. Only con: when a burger is on the menu, I am going to want fries (not chips). read more

This is a restaurant that I can honestly say, I've never had a bad experience with! The food is always on point- whether it be the dagwood, the pizza or those amazing jalapeño poppers! The service is always speedy and courteous, even when they are slammed- and, trust me, they do get slammed! They always have a decent beer selection and the atmosphere is great. It's definitely a place where you can bring the family to eat, after church, or come to hang out with friends, during a basketball game! Best place to eat in Georgetown. Great sandwiches and be sure you get homemade chips with cattlemen's sauce. Parking can be difficult when its busy. Great place to have a sandwhich, pizza, or beer and watch live sports. read more

First of all the service was fantastic. Great atmosphere. We had fried pickles that were fine but would have been better if they were hand breaded. Philly Cheese Steak had a great flavor. Barb's side salad was just ok. Galvin's serves more bar atmosphere type food. Not exactly fresh recipe items. read more

Great Black bean burgers, veggie nachos, and awesome fries. The space was clean and trendy. We stopped during the lunch rush on a weekday, so didn't really expect the speediest service..... and I'm thankful we didn't expect it. Nice restaurant in down town Georgetown. This restaurant/bar, almost pub feeling place serves pretty good food, drinks and has TVs for sports. The seating and booths all give a nice classy feel to it, and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Most of their foods come with chips which are great, but it is easy to ask for fries if you would prefer. I had their Philly cheese steak and was quite happy with it. Galvin's is a great alternative to chains in the area. read more

Such a great spot! My family stopped here while traveling from Lexington to the The Ark Encounter. Food is fresh and all my picky eaters enjoyed their selections. The Buffaleta was wonderful - crunchy coating on the chicken but still juicy. The Dagwood and the Philly Cheese Steak were also enjoyed. And the homemade chips were fabulous too! read more

My favorite thing at Galvins is the Gertrude Burger. It is mess, but delicious. Galvins carries typical bar food. Nothing special, but it's usually very good and if the game is on it's a good place to watch as they have a bunch of tvs. Can be very loud in there due to the open floor plan. Otherwise it's very well constructed and has good bar type food. read more

Would recommend for food and drink at a local place Lots of different beers on tap against to try for .25 Homemade potatoes chips!!! Very delicious!!! Yummy sauce tasted like honey mustard BBQ or smoker honey mustard My boyfriend had the; Taco salad, ok, popped a bubble on the deep fried tortilla bowl crust and it was filled with oil. So he dumped it on the plate and just ate the salad part. Very disappointed today when entering Galvin's to find all the waitstaff was maskless. When asked why no masks, the Hostess replied "we don't have to". I won't be back. I don't know of another restaurant in Georgetown where the waitstaff is maskless. Not worth the risk! read more

Hardly any gluten free options and very few dairy free options as well. Everyone loves the atmosphere and I love to take friends there but because of the lack of allergy friendly food I get sick every time. read more

Great restaurant! Good food, nice service. Went for my sisters birthday party with about 11 of her friends, our waitress was super sweet and did great, we made sure to tip her well. Food is good and homemade tasting, though quite pricey for lower income families or students. I had a veggie burger, it was okay, but probably wouldn't order it again. We are staying in Georgetown for a family vacation. We enjoyed dinner at Galvins the very first night. They had a good selection of different Pub type food. My husband and Father in law enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger very much. My mother in law said the Ruben was also very good. The buffalo wings were delicious. They were kinda sweet with a little heat. They were good with their ranch sauce and hubby liked the blue cheese. We also enjoyed the homemade potato chips which were very good. There was a small kids menu, but we chose to share our food with our son. The service was good and so was the atmosphere. Wish we could give it more than 5 stars! read more

This place is a piece of Georgetown history. It's off of Main Street. It's a great place to watch a game. Great sports bar. This place has an awesome philly cheese steak sub that I can't get anything else on the menu. The buffalo chicken is also a great starter. Never had desert because they give you plenty. Great place to eat. Would get 4 stars but parking really suck since they moved to their new location. Use to go all the time but I am lucky if I go once a month. Nothing bad about the place just the parking. Too much if a haste. read more

Great food great service. Great open atmosphere, the weather was perfect and the front doors were open. I enjoyed the onion rings.

My family and I were excited to eat at Galvin's for a family dinner. We were up in Kentucky visiting family and our family members recommended we eat there. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 25 minute wait time for a table. This 25 minute wait turned into an hour. Then when we were seated, the waitress brought out free chips and salsa which was a small tray for our party of 7. The chips and salsa were supposed to be compensation for having to wait so long. The waitress came back and after taking our drink orders took our food orders and we waited over an hour to even receive our food. When the food arrived, we hoped that it would be worth the long 2 hour plus wait. Unfortunately, the bacon cheeseburger that I got was severely under-seasoned and bland. My cousin, sister, and I's fries were soaked in oil and limp which of course can be a preference but I prefer mine not to look and taste like a limp noodle. My mother ordered the chicken cordon bleu specifically because it came with blue cheese, but when her order arrived there was none on the sandwich. When my mother told the waitress about this, she apologized but didn't do anything about it as we had already finished our meal. I have never not finished a burger. My sister took two bites of her burger and didn't eat any more. The restaurant noise was loud as well so it was difficult to have a conversation. I had high hopes for Galvin's but my family and I will not be returning. I left feeling completely disgusted with the whole experience and irritated. FYI we went on a freezing cold Wednesday night and it was completely packed. BEWARE, it's just not worth it. read more

We had dinner here last night and the service was awful! Food was not an issue, just the service. I almost felt like I was at a frat house, because all the servers did was huddled in the corner laugh and talk with each other. Our server gave us drinks, someone else gave us our food. She checked on tables that we're done eating and cutting up and laughing. We needed water, still no sign of her. Finally we had to get up and go to huddled area and ask another waitress for water. She then comes by and we just said, give us our check! It was so bad, that one waiter was cleaning the tables (male) and two watresses we're trying to talk and joke with him and he just walked away! I do enjoy this place, but with this type of service, I won't be back! read more

Great service! Great atmosphere! Great food! We were seated immediately and our waitress greeted us soon thereafter. Extensive draft beer menu. Our youngest enjoyed the kid's chicken tenders and fries. Pulled pork sandwich was fantastic and the buffalo chicken wrapped loved up to all of the hype! A little confusing to find since a gps can take you to old location as it did to my girlfriend but walk 2 blocks down and it can be found! Very good food, reasonably priced with many choices, something for everyone!! Biggest bowl of fried pickles I have ever had, will definitely go back!! Nice location, nice indoor/outdoor space. When the restaurant is full it's quite loud. Menu, while not sampled is average pub fare. Stopped in for a nightcap and was a bit disappointed my wife and I both ordered our favorite cocktail, an Old Fashioned. Given that most of the worlds bourbon is made with a 20 or so mile radius of this place I expected one follow-up question, "which bourbon"? The bartender was off before I knew it and returned with two drinks made with well whisky. Not the bartenders fault, if I wanted to be really specific I should've been in the order but in hindsight they don't have much of a litany of bourbons to chose from, which just seems like a major missed opportunity considering that's what the region is known for and what out-of-towners are looking for. read more

Well put together place. Decent prices on drinks. The pretzel was huge, chicken wrap was good, philly stomboli was also quite good, and finally the buffalo chicken pizza was lacking. Pizza wasn't bad but wasn't anything special either. Bathrooms were clean, place itself was lively. I'd go back. read more

DELICIOUS. My all time favorite restaurant. I've never had a bad meal here and everything I have tried has been amazing. The buffalo chicken pizza is AMAZING.
