Well sitting here waiting for game 1 of the NHL finals to start…read more The people running this place have all been really nice, efficient and attentive. This place is a little different for a sports bar, but in a decent way, chill and fancier vibe than a normal sports bar. It's has an open area but with multiple areas /room to escape and converse if needed. Two bars and couches in front of a biggest TV in bar I believe. I had a burger and fries, burger was very good, when I say a good burger, it alone was worth the visit, fries were fries, I just don't like these type of fries. If in the area and looking for something decent you can't go wrong, well at least I didn't on this visit, will go back for sure. Hope you enjoy as I did.

The bar opens at 2pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday- as well as noon on Saturday, so there's plenty of time to get a late lunch or watch the football & basketball games. The bartenders will change the games for you and sometimes take music requests as well. And The Patio has the cleanest bathrooms in downtown Frankfort. There's a mix of locals as well as fellow Buffalo Trace bourbon trial tourists coming through so it's always a good time and you meet people from all over the world. When it's nice outside I like sitting on the patio. The Patio side and The Brick Alley side are connected and are the latest bars open downtown so it's a fun spot for pool, live music, even keno.

What makes a 5-star bar? Heavy pours or creative cocktails combined with a little bit of ambiance?…read moreMaybe a witty bartender? The Center Bar is a real estate agent's dream: it offers location, location, location. It's situated right in the middle of the Derby City casino floor. You're gambling and thirsty? A cold drink is steps away. Want to watch pretty much any sport on TV? You can get that, too. I consumed what may be the saltiest Bloody Mary I've ever had. And I like salty. Thank goodness for the beer chaser. On reflection, I would stick to the bottled offerings. The bar's specialties read like an '80s child's dream: Bahama Mama, Tequilia Sunrise, Long Island Tea. They're appealing to the casino crowd who probably can't operate their smart phones but have somehow figured out the complicated video slots and don't mind the constant noise (you can't banter with the bartender if you can't hear them). If you want food at the Center Bar, you can order from Eats. You'll have to go get it yourself and eat out of plastic to-go containers, but again, you don't have to drive somewhere in the dark or rain. And bottles of water are free. Which will help dilute that salty Bloody Mary.

We started with the Wisconsin cheese curds, and they were delicious--definitely one of the better appetizers on the menu and something I'd order again. For our entrees, we had the steak quesadilla and the buffalo chicken tacos. The steak quesadilla wasn't anything fancy, but it had great flavor, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The buffalo chicken tacos were also tasty, although I wish there had been an option to order them with grilled chicken instead of fried. The staff is always friendly, and we've consistently had good service every time we've visited. The waitress is helpful and friendly. I just wanted some wings and she helped me take advantage of the BOGO wings reward via the app. Very kind of her. I considered leaving but stuck it out. I'm still waiting on my order of wings. I didn't order anything else and the place isn't busy, so why are these taking so long? Still waiting. This is crazy. Well they finally arrived. I got the honey BQ. They were good but it wasn't the glaze I was expecting. Either way, they were good. They came out good and hot.
