A cute Irish oriented restaurant in what once was a house on Main Street in Georgetown. We wanted to sit on the patio, but there were no tables. Just as well as the music was way too loud. We found a quiet table in the corner of the parlor room. The fish and chips were very good, hot and crispy, as were the fries. It came with a small slice of slice of soda bread. On our New Years trip to Lexington we decided to drive over to Georgetown. We passed this place and decided to stop by on a whim. It was so worth it. The ambiance was warm and cozy. So inviting! Big fan of Slainte! I kept on saying how I wish we had one of these in my town! Located in a historical home in the heart of downtown Georgetown, you'll find the cutest family run Irish pub. Inside the house, you find a cozy bar area to the left and to the right, there is a beautiful sitting room with leather chairs and rustic decor. There is a huge patio out back with plenty of shade and another bar in the rear with picnic tables. The beer selection was awesome and there truly was something for everyone. They also offer a small food menu and eat item was delicious. I think I loved the pretzel sticks the most! That beer cheese was chef's kiss! This place is definitely quirky. It's not a typical restaurant or bar. The drinks are good and the food is even better. Hands down recommend the shepherds pie! We came here on a recommendation of a ladies of Lexington fb group because my fiancé was craving shepherds pie. He's from Jersey so, naturally, the pizza, pasta, and bagels don't meet his requirements. This shepherds pie did! Portion was a little small for the price, however, it's very dense so you fill up quick! We also got the pretzel and that was delicious as well! This an awesome little Pub, great atmosphere, live music (Friday and Saturday), sitting rooms inside and a nice patio where you can enjoy the fresh air and your favorite beverage. I think they have the freshest Guinness in the US. They have also added food to there menu, pulled pork, coleslaw and chips, all Beef hotdogs with/without sauerkraut, Brats with/without Sauerkraut. Slainte also has a 3rd shift Happy Hour which starts at 630am and goes till 10ish am. For all those that work night shift they can now stop in have a beverage before going home after work. With a friend for first time in Georgetown. Stopped in for a bloody mary which was perfect. Paul at the bar was very friendly as were the patrons at the bar. Fantastic conversation with the locals as we were not. The patio is amazing and wish we could have spent more time. When back in town we will surely return. Yes I'm reviewing a location I've only been to once. This venue is great, as far as space and drink offerings. They have a garden patio out back that's absolutely beautiful, can't wait to get the hubby here and just chill. I was here in a particular Sunday night to hear some live music. The room they were set up in was upstairs to the left. It was quite small once you get the band and people in there. We had to sit downstairs which we could still hear but didn't get the full experience. There's a couple of adjoining rooms downstairs I feel would have best suited a live performance so that more people could hear better and interact with the performers. Just a suggestion on my part. They don't have food here it do have food trucks lined up on the weekends, especially for events. Perfect place to gather with friends. Check it out sometime if you haven't already! read more

The bar area has tv's if that's your thing or there's a really nice sitting area to the right hand side as soon as you walk in. They have open mic nights every Thursday from 7p-10p, when it's nice outside they have it on their back patio. Everything you want from a pub / full service bar. The employees / bartenders are amazing and always fun cheerful and they do it with a smile. This is our favorite meet up spot in Georgetown and quickly becoming our Thursday night hang out place! If you're looking for a sports bar, or a place that cranks loud music, or a place to find members of the opposite sex dressed in next to nothing dancing to EDM, this isn't the spot for you... If you've ever been to Ireland/England/Scotland, this is about as close as it gets to an AUTHENTIC pub experience! Decor is traditional and well-curated. Original design invokes a ton of character, with more of a "homey" feeling than a typical bar or chain-pub. While live music is fairly commonplace, there are still more than enough areas (back garden area, upstairs rooms, etc) where you can carry on a conversation without screaming at your companions. Bartenders are friendly and attentive; they know how to pour a pint properly and are knowledgeable enough to talk about the rest of their beer list or steer you towards a bourbon you may enjoy. In short, this is a traditional pub that encourages conversation and community. Their brand is not to sell a proprietary beer, but to create an atmosphere where the beer/drink is secondary to the laughs shared and stories told. A wonderful little bar. I'm not much of a regular bar-going type, but I'm proud of my Irish heritage and found the idea of an authentic Irish bar in my hometown to be a place I'd want to visit. Despite being new to the place, they made me feel like family immediately. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. The drink options are relatively limited, beers and wines and a small number of liquors. Don't ask for any really fancy, exotic cocktails. . .and the beer is more on the microbrew side than macrobrews. This is more of a place to come and enjoy good beers than suck down a glass of Bud. Then again, who comes to an Irish bar to order a Margarita? I saw on Facebook they are hosting a series of theological talks where the priest of the local Catholic parish hosts a talk about God over a pint at the local pub (just a block down the street from the church). . .and if that isn't the most authentically Irish thing imaginable I don't know what is. The only downside I can really point to is the lack of food options. They do have menus for places that deliver, and often they do have food trucks outside. Apparently food service isn't part of an authentic Irish bar, even though it's typical for American bars and many British places. In either case, I can't knock it down a star for this (if 4.5 was an option, I might give it that instead). Despite the relatively limited drink selection and lack of food, I'm still giving it 5 stars based on the warm, friendly, inviting atmosphere and service and that it very accurately conveys the feeling of an old Irish pub, and I realize the things I mentioned above aren't a part of a traditional Irish pub, so I won't hold it against them. Also, I'll praise them for having very few TV's. Too many of the bars I've gone to have boasted about having a themed atmosphere of some kind, which was promptly ruined by plastering TV's over all flat surfaces. It's clear that they intend for the entertainment there to be your fellow patrons, not the television. For a pint in a friendly, welcoming, authentic environment I'll happily recommend this place. read more
