Walking in, you will find yourself in the bar with some bar stool seating across from the small bar. We were greeted by the server working the lunch shift. She led us out to the outdoor seating area as she was taking another table's drinks. We ordered the Deviled Eggs and sodas to start out. The Deviled Eggs tasted really good! The flavor combos of the bacon, pickled onions, and egg mixture was light and unexpected. We ordered the Kentucky Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Mahi Mahi sandwich, both with fries. The Mahi Mahi was dry so hubby didn't really like it. My sandwich seemed overly fried but I liked the honey sauce on it. The fries seemed like they had been refried to warm them up so they were greasy. The service was a tad slow but the server was really friendly. This is the second time we've been to BOM, and the food was great this time. The first time, one of our burgers was really underdone. The menu is kind of limited but there's enough variety that everyone should be able to find something. It's located in a vintage building downtown and has serious old school prohibition vibes. Service is always a little slow, but as long as you're not in a hurry you're good. Definitely worth stopping off for if you're in the area. read more

The texture of the chicken was perfect, but I expected more flavor from "Nashville hot honey." I wanted heat with a sweet finish, and it needed salt. To be fair, I've been gluten-free for 14 years, so I have nothing to compare it to. Even so, ordering a gluten-free fried chicken sandwich was an absolute treat. My husband had the classic burger and said it was great. The menu doesn't advertise it, but they source their beef locally. It's essentially a low-key farm-to-table spot. I took points off for atmosphere because we weren't offered a choice between indoor and outdoor seating. We were simply seated outside. It was an unusually warm fall day, which should have been ideal, but we spent the entire meal shooing away flies and bees (I'm allergic to bees). That ruined the dining-on-the-water experience. Bourbon on Main was a five star experience from start to finish! We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and they were quite busy, it's usually pretty quiet at downtown type places during the week. We figured out why they were so busy, they're amazing! Our server was the sweetest gal, handling everything herself from orders to bartending to serving and clearing tables, she never missed a beat. We're in bourbon country so of course ordered the Old Fashioned and the Manhattan, both were superb and came out quickly. We expected to wait just a bit for our meals but happily they came out quickly as well. Hubby's hot chicken sandwich was amazing with just the right amount of heat and condiments. I felt so lucky to get gluten free chicken tenders, I had very little expectations, I was just so happy to see them! They were phenomenal! So I ordered the Kentucky chicken hot sandwhich and I ordered it with fried chicken not grilled chicken , but they brought me grilled chicken. I i formed them of the mistake and they promptly made me a fried chicken, but after cutting into it found that the middle was raw. After telling them they removed the order from my ticket, so I did not have to pay for it which was nice. Two other people in my party ordered gouda cheese on their burgers but they put cheddar cheese, bringing the gouda cheese after we had to ask for it again. We ate there last Friday for lunch-party of 4. We waited almost 45minutes for our lunch to come out. Our fish/chips-the fish was completely overdone but the fries were amazing. WAY too many fries even for 2 people to share. Then we waited another 10minutes to get extra plates to split food. Then we waited another 15minutes for check and never got boxes for the leftovers that we asked for 30min prior. It was our first time there and we were underwhelmed. We rolled in on a Sunday with a party of 10 and she deftly handled our party with grace, efficiency and charm that left our bellies full and smiles on our faces when we said our fair well to BOM. The OFC burger was perfectly prepared and well executed with a brioche bun and American cheese. The side of fries was moderately seasoned with seasoned salt and pepper that just paired so well with the burger(s). Our glasses were never empty, the ladies said the Prosecco was delightful and requests for additional condiments was rapidly executed. Also, do not miss their rear deck / patio for a terrific view of the river and smoke outdoor seating. I really hate to leave bad reviews, but I find it hard to like this restaurant. I must admit, first and foremost, that we didn't eat there. When we got there, they took us upstairs to a table. I had looked at their website ahead of time and saw they had beer but only in cans and bottles because there was a flood earlier this year that demolished their draft system. It said they were trying to get it back...whatever that means. The flood occurred in April of this year. The restaurant looked very much intact and no damage. It seems unrealistic that it would take more than seven months to put a draft system back in a restaurant. But, I digress. I asked what beers they had, and they had six or less and nothing out of the ordinary...Coors and Miller were two of the beers they carry. We had a chance to look at the menu before our waitress came to tell us about their beers, and the choices were very sparse. After hearing the lack of beer selections, we apologized and left. We went across the way to The Brown Barrel and so glad we did. FYI, just in case you decide to try this restaurant, parking is a bit tricky. There is a public parking lot about two blocks away, and there is a sign in front of the restaurant stating parking is under the bridge. There wasn't anything unique about the inside of the restaurant. When you walk in, the bar is to the left, but it remains unused. I am assuming that is still due to the flood back in April. So glad we stopped in for lunch! Hometown restaurants are the best. GREAT margarita. It was beautiful and tastes just perfect for the sweet and the tart. I'm so happy I chose the burger. It was huge! It was seasoned just right. The beef was a brisket and chuck mix. The salad was so colorful and just delicious. A group of three of us went to Bourbon on Main for dinner as we were staying in Frankfort for a few nights hitting some of the close distilleries on the Bourbon Trail. We were seated quite promptly as we did have a reservation and though not all tables were full, there seemed to be a few parties waiting outside. We expected that they were likely short staffed and it seemed to be the case as it took some time for any wait staff to get to us. The bourbon pours were quite overpriced in my opinion and given the relatively straight forward ambiance of a general restaurant, didn't seem to have a strong bourbon theme other than the name. We got general burgers/sandwiches for our meal and it was not great, but not terrible overall. Service was slow and very basic just taking the order and bringing it to us. What really made us feel great that in two different distilleries when asked where we ate - unprompted - two different individuals at Buffalo Trace and one at a smaller distillery I won't name as they have a small staff said to stay away from Bourbon on Main. While there aren't a ton of choices for restaurants in the Frankfort area, I think you may want to try a different location. While I also didn't rate it highly - eating at Goodwood next door had better ambiance and food - though still seemingly short staffed. read more

And the fries were too. And, not too hot, just Luke warm. So, I tried eating it and absolutely no flavor. See, that tends to happen when you over cook fries or fish. But, if I had gone with the burger, it wouldn't have been much better. Husband said the burger was tasteless. And he didn't eat his fries. CUZ THRY WERE OVER COOKED! A group of 8 us went in at noon on a Thursday, and they were kind enough to get us in without a reservation! We were glad they did. It's an old building with a cool vibe. The food was very good and the service was excellent. 3 of us got the Mahi sandwich - a good piece of fish and wonderful tartar sauce and salad topping it. The macaroni salad was also great; a light amount of dressing in that. A couple of the people in our group got the Bologna sandwich special. It was a very thick piece of meat with an egg on top. The ceiling fans helped a little, but kinda wished there was indoor dining. I had the lunch special pork belly, lettuce, tomato (BLT) with fries. It was so good and the fries were too. I had their BOM old fashioned and it was nicely crafted too. It got pretty busy at lunch so I had to find my waitress to pay my check and get back to my conference. She was polite and not a big deal. We got the buffalo chicken dip that was a special that day and we also got chicken tenders and fries. The food was great. They have a nice selection of cocktails and bourbons. We sat for a solid 27 minutes before a server appeared -- long enough to memorize the menu, question our life choices, and consider bussing our own table. When the food finally arrived, it was ice cold -- the kind of cold that suggests it had been sitting beside the bar while someone debated whether to actually deliver it. Maybe they don't believe in heat lamps. Maybe they've never heard of them. Either way, I've had warmer leftovers out of my fridge. As for flavor? None. Zero. Nada. It's almost impressive how thoroughly they managed to remove any trace of taste. To their credit, the one poor server running the whole place deserves a medal -- but no amount of sympathy can make up for food this bad and service this slow.
