My recent visit didn't feature the best service (except from the hostess... she was not only best dressed, but also seemed to be running the floor!), but the biscuit platter was still fabulous! I requested figs (on another menu item), and my served said 'sorry, the kitchen is out.' Well, the kitchen had given me figs, and the figs, ham, and cheese on a biscuit... perfection. The food was surprisingly good! I ordered the French toast, which was served with pecans and cream cheese. It was incredibly soft and melted in my mouth with every bite. The cheese grits were the best I've ever had. They were packed with flavor and I could taste the different cheeses. Honestly, I think they were even better than the French toast. However, I was disappointed that they only served pork sausage and didn't have any options for chicken or turkey. It's 2026! Not everyone eats pork anymore. The only positive aspect of the service was the waitress. When my friend and I first walked in, we barely got greeted with a hello. The young lady seemed disinterested and didn't even bother to smile. As a former hostess, I know how important it is to make a good impression on your guests. Based on my initial reaction, I was ready to leave. Her energy was so bad! But once the server came, she was friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The restaurant was quite busy after we got our food, and we sort of lost touch with our server. It was understandable because she was handling a lot of tables. The interior of the restaurant was super cute, and the bathrooms were clean. My wife and I had been here before last time we visited Lexington. This time we wanted to treat our local friends to a nice dinner, and we had a fantastic dining experience! The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy yet elegant, making it a great spot for a casual outing or a special occasion. Honeywood's food and drink menu is diverse, the service is always good and the vibe is great. We tried many dishes, including the following: Sweet potato beignets. Shrimp & grits. Crab rice. Huntsman cassoulet. Salmon. Mac & cheese and fries. Beetloaf. Cocktails. Everything was delicious and good. The flavors were vibrant, and the presentation was on point. Our server was good but seemed a bit rushed. The restaurant is located in a great shopping plaza with plenty to do within walking distance. We had our company Christmas party dinner here last night. We had a party of 9 and Leah was our server. She was fantastic. We started with the Deviled Eggs and Sweet Potato Beignets as our appetizers. I had the Shrimp & Grits. Honeywood was fantastic. My wife and I were so glad we found this gem tucked away in The Summit. We started with the Sweet Potato Beignets and they delivered big time. The ricotta and pepper jelly combo is something special. We also tried the Whitesburg Soup Beans and those were just as impressive. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich and the portion was very generous. She said it ranks among her all time favorites. I went for the Smashburger with Bacon Jam and the first bite stopped me in my tracks. Easily one of the best burgers I have ever had. Mom's spring break, so we traveled down. I had a wife-mom lunch date on the agenda. There are quite a few places in the summit in Lexington to eat. Most of them are about what you'd expect looking in from the outside, but 9 out of every 10 times, I pick Shake Shake. This time, I decided to make a list and point to something. Honeywood was the winner. Food: App - Korean Wings. They were good, but they tasted like regular wings to me. They're listed as having gochujang, sesame seeds, and green onions. They didn't taste very gochujang to me, but they were still delicious. My mom even liked them, and she usually doesn't like any kind of spice, whether light or heavy. Prime Rib Sandwich - Another delicious entree. It came with fries and was the perfect lunch. The only change I'd make is the horseradish sauce on it. It was still good, but the sandwich doesn't need that much horseradish sauce. It overpowered everything else. Lamb Kofta Burger - My wife ordered the lamb burger. She said it was good, but like most things in America - "It's just a lottttttt" Salmon Salad - Mom went with this salad. The salmon looked good. She ordered the salmon well done, but I think it still came out medium. Not a complaint from me because everyone should eat their salmon medium. She finished it, so if it was indeed medium, she loved it. If you're picking random spots to eat, there are worse places you could go. I like Honeywood and I'd easily go back. And The Summit is so walkable that you can easily walk over to Shake Shack(as I did) afterwards to order a shake. :-) read more

I've brought friends, coworkers, and family here many times and the food is always extremely good. The restaurant group that runs this is one of the better ones in Lexington. Local cuisine, fancy, and farm to table. Their menus change seasonally but it's always a good place for a fancy dinner and a beer. read more

I was browsing the Summit looking for a brunch spot that I haven't tried yet. I found this lovely place and based on the design, I assumed it was worth the time! Beautiful interior and kind people. My biggest issue was my wait time. I'm not sure why but I spent over 50 minutes waiting on my meal while being 1 of 4 tables being served. I was only dining with 1 other person who chose the salad. My server was kind but she was not very attentive. So much so that I had to ask for my check from the waitress at the bar after staring at my empty plate for at least 10 minutes. The last thing I ask is that if you choose to do homework or something on a personal computer, don't do it where the tables you are serving can see you! I can understand studies are important but you are working on the clock.. The food was good, my steak was cooked medium which was recommended by the chef and requested by me. It was a decent steak. Well fried on the outside, however I felt that the inside was too rare but I still enjoyed the meal. The parmesan fries were good but nothing special, almost too greasy. I wouldn't mind giving this place another visit but I will stick to the more popular brunch options (hamburger) next time. read more

The design on the inside was beautiful and as an out of towner found that the area it was located in was nice. The parking could be a bit difficult, but we found a spot. I have enjoyed honeywood for brunch previously so we gave it a try for dinner. Service, despite the restaurant being half full, was very very slow. It took almost 45 minutes to get our entrees after it had taken 20 minutes to get our appetizers. Appetizers were good. The oysters were flavorful and the sweet potato beignets were fantastic. My husband got the short rib which was a tough piece of meat surrounded by what felt like a LOT of butter in the grits. So much so that it was a surrounded rim of butter. I got the fried catfish which while tasted good, was about 60% batter. The shrimp and grits and smash burger were ok. We opted not to do dessert as it had already taken so long for the food. I want to give honeywood another chance but with all the new businesses in Lexington, it may take me a while to swing back around. read more

This is by far the most disappointing experience at a restaurant where the chef has been nominated for a James Beard Foundation award. I came for dinner, and went with the waitress's recommendation of the Beetloaf, especially because I love beets, but unfortunately it was inedible. My husband got the Honeywood burger, which was definitely better, and the only menu item that we would get again. For dessert, I have the peanut butter pie, which was also very disappointing. While it was edible, I would never get it again, especially at the price point. It has been a few years since we went to Honeywood, but we have always thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Service and food were excellent. Started with the complimentary hummus and chips, then we ordered a soup of the day (potato), ceasar salad, beef short rib with cheesy grits, steak frites, and brussel sprouts with hot honey and bacon. We also tried The Honeywood cocktail. They were all delicious and we left stuffed. We did take an order of bread pudding home for dessert, but it was not my favorite. Dining at Honeywood was a delight. This is a posh restaurant with a classy ambiance. The food is excellent. We came here a year ago and I got the burger which was excellent. This past fall, I opt for the stuffed cabbage special which was wonderful. Both times my wife had gotten an assortment of vegetarian apps to make up her meal and she really enjoyed them. We had a delicious time at Honeywood. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. We had the French Onion Dip and Cornmeal Fried Oysters. Both were tasty, I especially enjoyed the dip, which had a slight sweetness. My family then had the Honeywood Caesar with Crispy Chicken, Roasted Pork Tenderloin, and Honeywood Smashburger. We also ordered a side of grits. The Caesar salad was fresh and had great umami and citrus flavor. The Pork Tenderloin was bland but cooked well, and its side was delicious, creamy, and tangy. The Burger had a great crispy edge and juicy flavor. The onions were rich and well caramelized. The fries were crispy and perfectly salted. The Cheese Grits were smooth and creamy, the green onions added a nice fresh flavor. The meal plus tip came out to around $127. I would recommend Honeywood, but don't necessarily see us coming back when we are in the area again. read more
