    Chicken parm
    Kimberly M.

We walked into this establishment tired and starving when other places had multi hour waits that we couldn't manage with an infant. They sat us right away and were very accommodating to the baby. Our waiter was a nice guy who tried hard to make everything right. I got a generous pour on an $11 glass of Albariño, light and crisp. The watermelon salad, while not the most original of ideas with feta, mint and lime juice, was wonderfully executed with perfectly fresh watermelon and mint. Chicken parm was outstanding. Chicken was tender and crusted in parm. Setting it atop crispy polenta was a genius idea and topping it with spinach was a huge bonus to get extra veggies in. My preference would have been to have a little less dressing on the spinach but that is a personal choice. They had a nice bar area with TVs, and plenty of seating spread out throughout the large airy space.

    NY Strip Tataki

Ordered ny strip Tataki, beef tallow fries, brussel sprouts, cockertme kebabi, vegetable spring rolls, gnocchi and fried mushrooms (special). My top three favorites this time were the gnocchi, veggie spring rolls and the mushrooms. I'm a big fan of rosemary so the gnocchi was a hit for me. The spring rolls were pretty good size and could tell used fresh/clean ingredients. Mushrooms were also good size and perfectly fried and lightly battered. I didn't like the sauce with the brussel sprouts although I can see why others would. For me the flavor clashed with the sprouts and gave off a tang I didn't like. I prefer fries that are not as fried but the tomatillo ketchup makes up for that and is a super tasty and addictive sauce. Also, the strip Tataki was one of my favorites from before but the steak seemed slightly overcooked and not as juicy nor flavorful as before. My biggest complaint is they took away the lamb kebab from their menu (was my favorite before) and have a beef and lamb kebabi that is good but it's nowhere close to as good as previous lamb was. I really hope they bring that back! Service was great and quick and overall still great food.

4/12/25 My husband and I came here for our date night We shared crab bisque, pork belly burnt ends, a house salad with bleu cheese, chicken satay, and French fries fried in beef tallow (yes, they were as good as they sound and so thankful for no seed oil options) The food was fantastic, I do wish the bleu cheese dressing was a bit more bleu cheesy but other than that everything was great. The ambiance here is so mini jungle-like with all the various plants. I love the large space and the service was quick. The bathroom design was unique too, had to share that it is their family bathroom and the design for smaller children is too cute. Would definitely recommend this location for anyone looking to true unique food options.

Consistently Top Notch! Whether I'm here for dinner, cocktails, or an event, it's a hit. Cole Arime's menu offers a wide selection of delicious meals, apps, and desserts. Spacious place with a variety of seating options for a different feel each time you go. Bar, intimate dining room, larger dining room with lots of natural light, private room event space. They've got it. Bar staff and servers are always knowledgeable, attentive, and pleasant. Dined here with my wife, with friends, bourbon society events... they do it all right.

Revisited Eppings for happy hour with a friend after my last experience a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised. We got the around 4 :30 on a Thursday and were sat immediately. Our server Nigel was phenomenal and the food was better than I remember. The blue crab bisque is my favorite thing. You MUST order it! The small plates we ordered to share were: the rosemary focaccia, vegetable spring rolls, chicken satay, arugula and beet salad that was on special. Everything was tasty although some things did take a while to get to our table. There was some confusion with the desserts (I ordered a butterscotch bourdine that was on special but received a apple cake) so I won't review them but overall a lovely experience. Ask for Nigel.

Everything we had here was amazing. I got a passion fruit drink and it was soooo delicious. We got a mixture of a bunch of stuff like the chicken satay, rosemary focaccia, spicy cucumbers, pork belly, gnocchi, crab cakes, the yuzu mousse, and strawberry crème brûlée. Everything was fantastic, but the real standouts were the rosemary focaccia and yuzu mousse. The service was great and it was lovely inside the restaurant. Will definitely be coming back here

    Eggs Benedict

Went to Epping's for a birthday brunch. Overall we had a great experience. I had the Eggs Benedict which was delicious but a little bit small. Two friends had the breakfast platter which was good. One had the breakfast burrito which ended up being just ok. Edit for more detail.. she ordered the burrito without onions and it came to the table with lots of onions. The server took it back and they remade it but this time it had basically just eggs and cheese on top of fries, more like a bowl. She wasn't upset, just wasn't what she thought she was getting. We enjoyed everything else very much! We all did the bottomless Bellinis which were very good! Our server was very sweet and never made us feel rushed. They had a drag brunch going on in the other the room and that looked like so much fun! Would love to go back another time for that. I look forward to going back for dinner sometime.

Love Nate's coffee & Eppings has a special blend.

It's always a treat to go to Epping's Eastside. We love their bright ambience, and their food and drinks never fail. Sunday Brunch was the quest and I ordered the special of lump crab over cheese grits, and it was really amazing. They offer carafes of mimosas and Bloody Mary's as well making it perfect to share with friends. My hubs ordered the traditional breakfast & said the eggs were cooked perfectly & the cheese put it over the top. The espresso martini- chef's kiss! Made with Nate's Coffee, one of my local faves.

Went on Valentine's Day for one of my best friends birthday. We had a great time all the food was amazing and flavorful and the service was also outstanding! The restaurant was also super cute and clean. I got the beef ragu which was the special of the day and beef tallow fries.

What a great ending to my visit to Lex! This is an amazing spot- elegant yet humble and a perfect nod to all the great finds in the bluegrass state! We came for a work dinner; and I can confidently say everyone had a great time. The cocktail list definitely got us started on the right note, and I LOVED their paper plane- the perfect hybrid of dark&bitter. For a veggie, you'll have more options than I would have expected. Harissa heirloom carrots were fresh and tasty. But the fungus among us was my favorite: mushroom risotto with a side of extra mushrooms. Michael on service took great care of us, and be sure to ask him about his farm just outside of town. The yuzu vanilla custard was truly LIFE ALTERING! One of the most creatively flavored and completely satisfying desserts I've ever had!! Makes me want to run away and become a pastry chef!!! Not that I could ever make something that delicious. Lovely decor and relaxed vibe. Thanks for a great last meal in Lex!

A beautiful restaurant and a great place for brunch. It looks like a huge sun room, with white walls and huge windows, tables and booths with comfortable cushioned chairs. The staff was friendly from our host to our waiter and service was extremely quick though they didn't rush us while getting our orders and let us sit there and enjoy the company of the people we met after we were done eating. The food was good for most, my non breakfast entree, the Frisco Melt smash burger was quite bland and dry. The side of grits, I dare say was more flavorful, should have gone with shrimp and grits. The others at the table got the burrito, chicken and waffles, and the Turkey club. They seem to have enjoyed their selections. Epping's is a solid choice for brunch while you're in Lexington, though I'd stick with breakfast entrees. Or just have coffee and enjoy the beautiful morning in their sun room.

We went to Epping's for our engagement dinner while we were on vacation and despite this restaurant having great reviews I was a little disappointed. I have to give at least 3 stars because my food was really good and the drinks were nice too, but our food took an hour and 50 minutes to come and the waitress seemed visibly annoyed at our table? We are very polite as all former food service workers ourselves so we just assumed it was very busy. Atmosphere was interesting as it was a really pretty spot but there was also an extremely intoxicated patron singing loudly from table to table on a Wednesday evening... odd experience with much left to be desired.

Breakfast Burrito and Tiramisu Waffles with a side of fruit. Caramel latte!

First time trying Epping's on Eastside and I was so happy with my experience. The layout is lovely. Lots of natural light and the tables are spaced nicely creating plenty of privacy for conversation. I went for a birthday brunch and was able to split two dishes between myself and a friend. We wanted savory and sweet. I ordered the Tiramisu waffles and she got the breakfast burritos. The servers were so obliging by splitting our orders perfectly so we could share. Can't wait to go back.

This visit marked our third time at OBC Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint. This time we experimented with timing and booked an early reservation at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. We crossed over into the dinner menu and discovered something wonderful: the service and ambiance were even better than the busier evening hours after 6 pm. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every dish and cocktail option was explained thoughtfully, which I appreciate, especially because I enjoy cocktails that come with a bit of theater. When drinks are presented with care, described well, and executed beautifully, the experience becomes part performance, part craft. Here, they delivered perfectly. The food, as always, was superb. We shared several chef selections including Beef Tallow Fries, Southern Grouper, Bacon in a Glass, and the Cola-Braised Short Ribs. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and confidently executed. Dessert continued the celebration with the Churro Cheesecake, and to our delight we were also gifted the Warm Buttermilk Donuts, which felt like a small act of culinary generosity. In a departure from my usual Manhattan and Old Fashioned flights, I tried a Bloody Mary and The Cure, both excellent and beautifully balanced. At this point I can confidently say OBC Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. The consistency, creativity, and hospitality make every visit memorable. A special thank you to the team who took care of us on Saturday, March 7th, 2026. You elevated an already wonderful experience and made it even better than usual.

From the ambiance, the staff, the chef, and of course the food; going and experiencing what they have to offer ranks among the top places in Lexington. With no shortage of well crafted, elegant, and new restaurants out there in Lexington right now; Millstone excels at elevating the familiar to level that Lexington has been waiting patiently to see. Even a solo visit can feel extraordinary at Millstone. On my visit, Amy M was absolutely amazing, her attention to details and perspectives allowed me to fully enjoy the experience from beginning to end. Before getting to the food, I must admit that the space is truly special. To have such a welcoming and warm environment in a historic location with an addition that feels just as natural as the rest of the building is truly grand. This alone helps you feel so at ease in the space right from the beginning. With my meal, I enjoyed both their schoolhouse old fashioned with house-made bitters and their black manhattan. Both are expertly crafted with care and attention to detail. If bourbon is not your thing, there's a plethora of other cocktails, wines, some beers, and even nonalcoholic options which is also a refreshing change that I welcome all restaurants to embrace. As for my meal, first off you will not be disappointed by any of the portions, everything that I had and saw coming out of the kitchen will leave no one who comes to Millstone hungry. Additionally, the menu is both simple and expansive. There's an offering for just about any appetite. For my starter, I was actually stuck on what starter to get because all of the items sound so good!!! I ended up selecting the crab cakes with fried green tomatoes and let me tell you, they are absolutely delicious. The batter on the tomatoes was perfect, the crab delectable, and the remoulade was very well balanced and provided the right about of heat to the dish. For my main, I had the braised short rib. In full transparency this is one of the pricier entree's but it is absolutely worth it! The short rib is done so well it melts in your mouth! The potatoes are creamy and expertly seasoned to pair so well with braising jus, the honey brussel sprouts, and root vegetables. This dish is a tender love letter that you want to keep reading and enjoying time and time again. Halfway through my meal Chef Tyler even came through the dining room to meet with patrons and talk to them!! As it was earlier in the evening, I was so appreciative to see him interacting with the patrons and when he stopped by it was so nice to speak with him and pay compliments to him, Amy, and everything they're doing at Millstone. To end my visit, I enjoyed the brown butter mascarpone cheesecake. Brown butter is already such a wonderful treat, but to have it with a cheesecake was top notch!!! This was truly a wonderful visit and I can't wait to go back and enjoy another offering from Millstone

Unfortunately, we could hear every word of the conversation happening right next to us, which took away from the intimate date-night experience we were hoping for. Overall, the atmosphere was the highlight of our visit, but the seating arrangement and pace of service made the experience less enjoyable than we expected for a special occasion.
