Cold food

Poor service. Apparently, we arrived during stocking of the bar. Food arrived cold. None of the usual offers or additions when ordering entrees.

Let me start out with this place is amazing. We were able to get a table without a reservation thankfully. This place is a nice beautiful restaurant to enjoy a quiet meal or celebrate with your loved one. The service was flawless and top notch. They started us off with water and fresh bread. We love warm fresh bread. We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer and it did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked. We then ordered the Veal Parmesan and Fagottini Sanatra. The wife loves the moldy cheeses so this was excellent for her. And the Almonds were a nice touch. The Veal was very nice sized meal that came with pasta on the side. It was delicious. If you are looking for an intimate place to celebrate or just have a good meal, give this place a try.

Omigosh love love pasta and this place knocked it out of the park! A cute place for a date night. A few friends and I went here before a concert which was walking distance from Rupp Arena. Highly recommend this place. I got the carbonara! And other people got the chicken Marsala and gnocchi which was gluten free!

Was hoping to meet a friend for a quick lunch at Dudley's last week, but it was closed, so we stopped in Frank & Dino's, conveniently right next door. And what a pleasure! Everything from the fresh bread and butter to start, to the huge tiramisu for dessert was pure perfection. For my entree, I decided to try the Fagottini Sinatra, purse filled pasta filled with mascarpone and Parmesan cheeses, and pear, and tossed in a Gorgonzola sauce with asparagus and toasted almonds. This was a great choice, delicious, subtle flavor contrasts, which was light enough for a nice lunch time meal. I'm already craving that pear and Gorgonzola matchup, so I'll be back soon!!

This place is always very crowded. It has a big bar and a lot of space. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is pretty average. The menu is pretty limited and there is not really anything too exciting. I wish that they still had the Veal Picatta. The Pepperoncini Ripieni is the most interesting and delicious item on the menu in my opinion.

If you want Italian Food this is a must. Frank & Dino's brings hand-crafted southern Italian recipes to downtown Lexington. It is located in a charming old Lexington building on the first floor. The sever and other front of the house employees away make for incredible service.

Always love stopping in here when I'm in Lexington. Classy and classic Italian restaurant. Great pastas, strong selection of chicken, veal, and such...and if you enjoy pasta fagiole (and you should), theirs is among the best--perfectly seasoned, balanced ingredients, comfort in a bowl. Yes, it's a bit pricy, I've seen other comments on here, but so are many places. The atmosphere and elite service part of what you pay for (especially when they have live music going). If you're going for dinner, a reservation is a good idea. I've had better luck sneaking in at lunch.

Just little branding touches around the bar.

This place is gorgeous. With a name like Frank & Dino's, it better be. I came in for lunch on a weekday and asked if I could have lunch from the bar, and the very kind. bartender, Eric, said it would be great to have lunch at the bar. He got me a beverage and a lunch menu and made me feel very welcome without feeling awkward being dining solo. I don't have an issue dining solo when I'm on business travel but it is not always easily received in Kentucky still for some reason. The lunch menu had wonderful offerings of antipasto, meatballs and more appetizers. I kept eyeing the Caesar salad, and many pasta dishes on the menu. I settled on the rigatoni Bolognese. It came out in a very reasonable amount of time, hot and fresh, as you can see in the picture. It was hearty but not heavy. Service from Eric was impeccable! He was attentive and friendly, but not invasive, just the right touch. Lunch was not expensive either, it was ~$20 for the rigatoni bolognese and a soda, so don't shy away from this beautiful place at lunch when you can have a killer meal for a reasonable price.

OMG!!!! My kids took me to this restaurant for an early Mother's Day dinner. This was my first time going and I was pleasantly surprised. I love their attention to detail. I enjoyed the live music where the musician played several instruments and sang. Definitely a one man band. I ordered the lobster ravioli. It wasn't as hot as I would like, but it was still good. The kids both had penne pasta with vodka sauce. My son ordered the gluten free penna but did not have enough sauce. He ordered an additional Alfredo and said it made it better. I was expressed and would definitely recommend.

We went to Frank and Dino's with a large group and sat in the private dining area. The room was very nice and the wait staff was very attentive especially considering how large of a group we were. I ordered the lobster ravioli and must say I was impressed by the size of the plate and the overall flavor. I would personally recommend giving Frank and Dino's a try if you are ever in Lexington.

We were in town for the Keeneland Spring Meet and ate here. What an amazing experience at Frank and Dino's. The food was amazing. The service was outstanding. Valet parking. Great drinks. The lobster ravioli and the gigantic meatball are my favorites. Definitely would eat here again.

Lovely evening at Frank & Dino's! Our party loved the service, wine, Sinatra entree and salted caramel brownie sundae. A beautiful restaurant for a business dinner. Paid parking lot or garage across the street.

Try the Beet Salad appetizer. It's delicious and plenty to share!

Frank & Dino's is an absolute FAVORITE that we need to visit more often. There is no way to give them anything other than for everything -- Food, Service and Atmosphere! Always make a reservation though!

Don't overlook these delicacies. The arancini have a crispy crust and a wonderfully gooey cheesy inside. They are seasoned well. Accompanied by a red and pesto sauce that pair well. The pesto was especially tasty and begs for a pasta dish with the same sauce. I also ordered the Matuffi Lucchese. The polenta is fantastic and the hearty wild mushroom ragu is seasoned to perfection. The butternut squash soup was light. It was the weakest dish and I feel lacked salt. The faina was the most surprising item and I am so glad I tried it. . This chickpea pancake was slightly crispy at the edges with a luscious center. Ignore the butter in the photo. It was offered with olive oil and I always prefer butter, but it did not need either. The cannoli were amazing. Whipped mascarpone was genius. I've often found ricotta heavy. These were very light. I must note. I am gluten intolerant and watch what | eat. The menu is very gluten free friendly with notations and substitution possibilities (including the cannoli shells made with almond flour). My server, Gustavo, was the best. He timed my dishes perfectly and accommodated all my requests graciously and efficiently. He was the cherry on the top of a memorable meal.

Ran into this wonderful woman who happened to notice my car said Purdue alumni and my sister's shirt also was a Purdue shirt (my niece is at Purdue). She jokingly called us the Purdue people and then told us one of her sons graduated from Purdue. We're just so happy to also be stopping to get some lunch. She told us about this restaurant. So of course we decided to do lunch here. The bread, the meatball appetizer were great. We got the Italian subs. Very delicious!! next time we are in Lexington We will most definitely stop again. Maybe this time we can try the pasta. We shouldn't forget about the service. Both the Host and the waitress were top-notch.

So first -- major credit where it's due: the service was fantastic. It was busy, it was chaotic, it was love-in-the-air level packed... and our server was still kind, attentive, and genuinely great. It was a little slow, but honestly? On Valentine's Day? Totally understandable. Now, let's talk food. The meatball appetizer? Outstanding. If the whole meal had that same energy, this would be a different review. Those meatballs came in like the confident main character. I ordered the Chicago beef (hot instead of sweet), expecting bold, juicy, maybe-a-little-spicy goodness. Instead... it tasted like someone whispered "beef" from another room. I kept waiting for the flavor to arrive. It never did. I'm not saying it was bland, but salt might have been an optional add-on. My husband ordered the Manzo Parmesan pasta. He eats medium rare. This steak was blue. Not "a little under." Not "oops." It was grazing-in-a-field-five-minutes-ago rare. If it mooed, I wouldn't have been shocked. BUT -- we need to talk about the music. The playlist was elite. Every song that came on was something off my Apple playlist. At one point I genuinely wondered if they'd somehow tapped into my phone. 10/10 vibes. I was half expecting my "On Repeat" playlist to start playing next. All that said, the staff truly did their best on one of the busiest nights of the year, and we appreciated that. The bones of a really good experience are there especially if the kitchen can bring the same magic to the entrées that they brought to those meatballs. Would we try it again? Maybe but next time I'm ordering whatever the meatballs are having... and asking for the playlist.
