A group of us went here and asked to be seated in the pasta room. We learned while we were there they would not be making pasta until later that day, so that was disappointing. But the food was so good! I had been there once before, shortly after opening, and thought it was so-so. But the 2nd visit was a much better experience. Since we had a large group, we sampled each other's dishes and everything was delicious. The burrata appetizer was really good. First off, wait staff was very nice. Drinks from the bar were okay, definitely not the worst chocolate martini I've ever had but definitely not the best. For our appetizer, we had the beef tartare, it was also just okay. We didn't even finish half of it. The star of the dish was the rye crisp, unfortunately. For our entree we had the baked rigatoni and the pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin dish was delicious and so was the rigatoni. That was a plus. It was extremely loud in the restaurant. Be prepared to yell at your table partner. Between the amount of people talking loudly (I assume to attempt to talk over the loud music) and the music, and being seated really near other people, having a conversation was difficult. So don't go with anyone who is hard of hearing with background noise (my husband lol). Food took a little longer than what I'd prefer to come out. Amongst the best restaurants I have been to in Lexington. Walking in, the environment is upscale but relaxed. The interior is large with plenty of seating available, yet manages to create a cozy and inviting ambiance. The walls are decorated well with some nicely curated art all around, all while maintaining a bit of fun laid back vibes instead of becoming too uptight. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was just perfect, gave us thorough descriptions without being dismissive or pretentious in the slightest about questions, fantastic suggestions on specific dishes as well as quantities and orders. He was attentive without hovering, made some jokes, and so much more; just over all provided fantastic service which made the whole experience even better. The food itself was also quite good. The menu is split into appetizers, pastas, and entrees, all designed to be shared; and so for two people we split 2 appetizers, 1 pasta, and one entree and it was more than enough food (actually had to pack some to bring back). While all the dishes were fantastic, the standouts for us were the burrata and the half chicken, just absolutely packed with great flavors. We will not visit on a holiday again, we had a Reservation on Mother's Day, was not seated for almost 30 minutes, when finally seated it was in a booth, there were 5 in our party...it was very tight. The table host came over with water after 15 mins, told us the specials and finally came back to take our order 16 mins later. I decided to try Milata for lunch and am glad I did. The ambience was relaxed. I ended up sitting at the bar, although I was too early for happy hour. they have happy hour from 3 to 5 every day. The bartender was nice and attentive, but not in a hovering way. I ended up getting the catfish sandwich with no bread. Both of the bartenders said it was one of their favorite dishes. Returned for a bday dinner with 5 other friends. Our server was Candice and she was amazing from intro to our departure! I gave my friends my feedback from my first experience. Everyone was optimistic and open to trying new things. The ambiance, music, service & cocktails were consistent high points. Candice really exceeded my expectations based on my last visit. Super attentive & knowledgeable! Based on her menu rundown, we selected a variety of choices & shared to get a full experience. Everyone was very pleased. A few adjustments on certain menu options would have made this night perfect (pork belly dish had too many fat pieces, but sides were seasoned & delicious, more of a meat presence in certain pasta dishes). The shining star was our server tonight. She answered ALL of our questions, took our photos in the Rose Room (which she encouraged us to visit), & just overall made us feel welcomed and special. Great dinner experience and 5 star overall. We'd been told it was great so we were excited to try it despite some 1 star Yelp reviews. We had reservations on a Friday evening and were seated right away by the friendly hostess who greeted us with a warm smile. The waitress was equally as friendly and she began by telling us their philosophy on dinner service and how all aspects of the dining experience are carefully curated by the chef and the staff. Big eye roll . A wee bit pretentious but she was nice and very enthusiastic. It's a very nice restaurant with a warm and inviting decor. Though it's a tad dark and the tables are a bit close. There was a cold breeze blowing through our section, so much so I contemplated going into the mall to buy a sweater from J Crew. Others may have complained as it warmed by the time our appetizers arrived. My wife and daughter got some cocktails which they said were good. Me and my daughter's boyfriend got some beer, I'm guessing Peroni. They did have a selection of bourbons and other spirits. The menu is weird, kind of like Cheesecake Factory's which incidentally is right across the way. At first glance it looks like 3 long paragraphs, and I half expected the waitress was gonna give us a test on reading comprehension. We started with focaccia with a tomato dip, half a dozen oysters and tallow fries. They were all very good but the fries were next level. The portion was large so one order was enough for the 4 of us, which isn't the case for the entrees. I know fries fried in beef tallow is all the rage now, I wonder if it has to do with Malcolm Gladwell's episode on the demise of MacDonalds fries. The prices are high but for most of the entrees the portions are on the small side. My wife and daughter got the mezzi rigatoni and the lumache, pastas with some kind of sauces on it. They looked good and they said it was good. I was still thinking of those tallow fries. I shared the $140 tomahawk ribeye with 2 others (daughter and her boyfriend). It was well seasoned and grilled to perfection, amazed that they pulled off the two request of medium rare and medium. Before the end of the night the manager made his perfunctory visit to the table. Good open space, nice patio, and interesting private room and hangout options. Service was excellent - friendly but not overly attentive, great recommendations. The green salad was fresh but a little blah - simple is good but doesn't have to be boring. We shared the steak. Good but nothing extra special, the side potatoes were delish. I made a last minute stop here after shopping at the mall. My first interaction was with the bartender, who recommended a banger of a cocktail (the velvet "something") and it was amazing. I had the pleasure of interacting with my server, the manager, and the owner, and all of them were lovely and laser focused on giving the best experience possible. All recommendations were on point and they were able to understand my tastes in such a short time. The mussels were delicious but a very large portion. Not complaining, but I had to stop midway through. The rolled ravioli was heavenly. Perfect presentation and the crispy prosciutto gave the correct amount of salt to the dish. The ribeye that was aged for longer the an I can hold a relationship was the perfect medium rare plus, but the show stealer was the broccolini with just the right kick of Calabrian peppers to make it unique in a sea of restaurants doing the same treatment over and over again. Solid 4 star experience. Made a reservation (at 6pm) for Thursday at 7:30 for a group of 3 and the host answering was super sweet. Came in and our table wasn't ready yet so we sat at the bar. Super nice bartender but drinks were a little lacking for the price ($45 for 3 drinks). We made it to our table maybe 20 minutes later and our server was prompt getting to us. They encourage ordering everything at one time, which is a little hard with an indecisive group, but we figured it out. We ordered 3 appetizers to share--my favorite was the focaccia (although you should skip the fonduta that's $5 more) and the fried potatoes (kinda like square latkes). The broccoli was broccoli lol. We then all ordered pastas since they are handmade in house (you can actually see a chef making pasta in the event space in the front of the restaurant sometimes!). While the flavors were good, the pasta was undersalted for all of us. I had one with pork belly and clams and even that wasn't salty enough to help the pasta. We skipped on dessert and paid $134 (before tip). Overall, a lovely space and experience that feels much fancier than Fayette Mall. Our entire experience was just over $200. There has been a buzz around Lexington about this new Italian restaurant at the mall and I was so excited to check Mileta out a couple weeks ago- first dining with my husband and our friends and then a second time with a group of girlfriends. The positives: the restaurant itself is GORGEOUSLY decorated and has a great ambiance! Service by the hosts and waitstaff was great as well- they had a great knowledge of the menu and were able to give good recommendations. The food is good- both times visiting our table split a few appetizers and ordered separate pastas as entrees. Mileta encourages "family style" dining which is a great way to sample their menu. A few of my favorites are the broccoli, foccacia, tallow fries, fiori (if you like lemon), and the radiatori (if you like more umami/mushroom). The pasta is made in house and that is definitely evident! Controversial opinion(?)- for the price of each dish- nothing was knock-me-down amazing. Finally got reservations to the hottest ticket in town. I went on a Saturday night with some friends. We got a tour of the place and even saw the kitchen.. very hygienic and organized. First impressions: It's a swanky place and I loved the vibe. Their private "Rose Room" is awesome for a small party. But I wouldn't want to be in the "Pasta Room"... that had the fishbowl effect Furniture was nice and comfortable though the tables are way too close together; bar area was nice and the bartenders are very sweet and accommodating. One of them made me a special mocktail.... really appreciated that. Highlight: They gave regular looking portions!!!! Very un-American and I'm sure the locals won't be liking it. But I loved the fact that they had European portions.... Just enough Lowlight: Ok, so in true European fashion, they "sell" the bread as an app, which is ok, I can live with that. But the prices on some of the apps were a bit too steep to justify the size of the item. Tbh, I was a bit underwhelmed with the apps. Coming to the food, here is what we ordered and my rating: CRISPY POTATO- cultured cream, hackleback sturgeon caviar, chives ... 4/5. Taste was great, so was the crunch, but the size was really small. We made reservations well in advance but were only notified there would be a set menu a couple of weeks in advance, which is too late to get another quality reservation for the day. The actual menu was released a couple of days prior and would not have been something we'd have been interested in at the price point. Nothing was bad but also was not wowed by most of the dishes. The pasta itself was cooked nicely but the fish dish was lacking flavor and the steak was slightly over cooked (ordered med rare). The final price was much more than going to one of the most expensive restaurants in town and splurging so that added to the satisfaction level. This spot was a true delight. I was in from out of town trying to find a cool spot that showcased Lexington. This hit the nail on the head. The ambiance in the place was so very cool. Giving posh/ new age jazz club vibes with low lighting and deep moody colors. Very hip. If you told me I was actually at a restaurant in Chicago/ NY/ or Vegas I'd believe it. Service was great. I love a restaurant where staff does not hover. I sat at the bar and all of the bar tenders were kind and gave me enough time to try my food before asking how things were. Lastly the food was wonderful. I wish I lived closer so I could come try the other options. The pastas were all delicious but I opted for the lemon ricotta Fiori. This was a lovely and bright dish. I chased this with the Mi Amaro cocktail which had a nice depth to it but was balanced with Prosecco. I must have been in a lemon mood because I finished my meal with the lemon tart. This was a GOOD portion for the price, the lemon curd was perfectly set and it had this wonderful texture from the pistachio kunafa. I have zero idea why anyone has given this place less than five stars even after reading the reviews. The ambiance: speakeasy meets date night. My ONE negative is that tables are a bit small And seated close to one another but I also understand space restrictions and it seems they do their best to amend this by staggering reservations. Service: Mariola was great. She was on her third shift but you would never be able to tell! Food: . We've been to Italy quite a few times and this pasta was akin. Perfectly al dente and each equally incredible. Appetizers: best focaccia I've EVER eaten. In my life. The oxtail marmalade was delicious. The yellowtail crudo was beautiful with sesame seeds on top and a delectable coconut base. The crispy potato !!! NOT TO BE MISSED. Okay I'm hungry again. Pasta: fiori was incredible with a perfect lemony sauce, the agnolotti made me feel like I was being wrapped up in a big hug of autumn leaves and the spaghetti was outstanding. Well, it's beautiful and posh inside here. They really did a great job on the interior - it's modern and sleek and romantic. From the menu descriptions, the food seems impressive, and it has a hefty price tag, but honestly, I wasn't completely wowed by anything I tried. I was in a group of 5 people, and most of my friends ordered pasta, but I had the fish, which I wouldn't recommend. It didn't taste very fresh, and had a really strong scent. The restaurant is "family style" 3 course meals, but not required. The focaccia is soft, moist and flavorful, a little salty though. We had the Mezzi pasta with calamari which was good. All of the pastas are house-made. The halibut was sooo good, I suggest having it yourself though, its so yummy you wont want to share. The cocktails are well prepared. (Excuse mid quality photos, i mostly took them for my husband and wasnt expecting to write a review.) My friend and I tried Mileta for the first time tonight and had an absolutely stellar time. We had reservations for 6:15 and wound up staying until 9, and the entire experience was lovely. Our waitress was very attentive, we wanted for nothing, and she gave us great cocktail recommendations. The manager first surprised us with two champagnes, which was very kind and appreciated. I had made a note in my reservation that it was our first visit and my friend was having a hard time at work, so it was our treat to ourselves; i did not expect them to go as above and beyond as they did. We chose the grilled halloumi cheese app and tallow fries, both hot and fresh and so delicious. The cheese was the winner, with a lemon honey marmalade and benne seed salsa macha (I had to google this, it's a kind of mexican style chili oil made with heirloom sesame seeds.) We ordered two pastas, the spaghetti with crab and the casarecce with the creamy corn sauce and pancetta. I cannot recommend one against the other, because they were both so delicious and unique. If you're a creamy pasta fan, the casarecce was satisfying on so many levels. The pasta was thick and flavorful, the sauce was creamy and just slightly corn-sweet, and the crispy pancetta and pecorino romano gave it a nice, salty finish. If you like the fresh, seafood taste, then the spaghetti is a go-to. The crab was sweet and fresh, and the sherry butter sauce was salty and had the perfect bite. We opted to share an entree (pasta portions are generous, in my opinion) and chose the poached halibut with veggies. Where so many fish dishes can be boring, especially in a landlocked state like Kentucky, this dish was delightful. Tender, flavorful, and unique. I only wish I wasn't so full already so I could enjoy it more fully. The poaching broth that came on the plate, I could drink it through a straw. So good. The manager surprised us again with a dessert that knocked our socks off. We were, admittedly, stuffed, and the idea of MORE food was hard to face. But this dessert was well worth having to be rolled out to the parking lot. I couldn't find it on the menu, so i'll recall as best I can, but it was an oreo cookie and cornflake base, a creamy espresso mousse, and a torched coffee cream fluff. There may or may not have been a peanut butter flavor in there, I was half comatose and stuffed like a goose. But it was so very good. Overall, I'm so happy with my first experience there. They went above and beyond and really made it special for my friend and I. Service, food, atmosphere, and experience are 10/10. Really looking forward to going back with more friends and family to show it off. Best advice: take your time. Enjoy the experience. Don't try to be in and out in 45 minutes. Soo dinner was great actually all the food is good. But we were sitting eating ordering drinks and it took over an hour to get our pasta. Then after we got deserts and checks they asked us to leave.. We spent well over 260ish but we where told to get up and leave because of tight reservations. So be aware you get 2 hours, and they will show you do the door at that point. This experience was with the fall 2025 September Menu. This was by and far the best meal I have ever had in both Lexington and Kentucky. Heck, this was by and far one of the best meals I've had in quite some time. Everything from the drinks, to the food, and the absolutely spot on service were incredible. With so much care and attention to detail in all of those aspects, Mileta made a birthday night for my girlfriend absolutely extraordinary and I can't thank the staff enough. I'll also say that Alicia O was absolutely incredible as our server, she killed it. The kitchen excelled with food that is simply beyond compare! Sourced from as many local farmer and vendors as possible (as far as I've been able to tell) Mileta does a fantastic job giving you the best foo around from cocktails to dessert. If you have a full traditional dining experience where you try something from each section, this will be a pricer meal but it will one you will remember and thoroughly enjoy from beginning to end! From the fries with their amazing sauce, the local squash and dilly sauce, the fresh pasta alone that will send you over the moon, one if the best well served pieces of meat around, and ending with homemade Parmesan ice cream that will simply wow the tastebuds. This is incredible restaurant is on a completely different level than we've seen in Lexington. Truly a 4.5. First off we had absolutely amazing service. Our server was one of the best servers I've ever had where she was constantly making sure we were good with drinks and our food and knew the menu up and down. The vibe of this restaurant can be felt as soon as you walk in the door and is very unique to Lexington. For dinner we ordered the charred broccoli, crispy potatoes, tallow fries, taglioni pasta, duck and the steak. The broccoli was delicious mostly because of the vegan Caesar dressing and the fries were a very plentiful amount (wish they would give more sauce due to the size instead of having to ask for it) and the crispy potatoes were excellent but they are on the smaller side of the appetizers. I'm not a pasta person but it was very tasty and fresh. The main entree is one of the reasons for lack of 5 star. The duck is underwhelming because the cook on it doesn't render the fatty skin as much as it should and the carrots looked cooked but were still raw and the steaks were more rare instead of medium rare. The Parmesan sundae was an interesting surprise. Never would've ordered it myself but it was so unique tasting and the ice cream was silky smooth and I couldn't stop going back for more. Favorite place in Lexington. Hands down. Everything is perfect every time. Dallas is incredible and makes you feel more than welcome. Tomahawk, Brussels, focaccia, tallow fries, lumache, halibut. We have dined in as well as grabbed a few spots at the bar and the service and quality have been top notch. Where Lexington lacks in large scale, inclusive, high end dining, Mileta more than makes up for it in being the EXCLUSIVE location to enjoy something that exceeds expectations and elevates central KY from "chain-restaurant-drab" to "we hold a candle to real cities". If you are a foodie and you haven't been to Mileta, you are missing out. We are new to Lexington and try to eat out someplace new a few times a month. We have lived in major food towns like Miami, New Orleans and Raleigh/Durham so we know good food! Mileta came recommended to us from a BBQ PitMaster in North Carolina who raved about it when he found out we lived here. So we had to try them out. The atmosphere is dark and brooding in a good way. It's a big place but feels intimate with the soft lighting and plush banquet seating. Our waitress, Alicia, was helpful without being intrusive. Husband had excellent cocktails from the huge wraparound bar. But the food stole the show! The creative menu was surprising as we somehow had in our heads it was Italian based. And although it has pasta on the menu, Mileta is not Italian alone. It's so much more. We had the Sourdough Pancake and Hamachi Crudo to start. The pancake was like nothing I've had before. It's rich and delicious with flavor combinations that I would never had guessed went together. The Crudo was fresh and light. For our main we split the Rigatoni, baked to perfection. Not heavy, not drowning in cream but just right. Dessert was amazing and one could come here just for the desserts! We had the Parmesan Sundae, the weirdest and best Sundae I've ever tried and the Mocha Tart. I'm not a huge fan of coffee so I wasn't sure about the Tart but holy smokes, it's one of the best desserts I've had EVER. No joke. It was perfect. The food here is from scratch. It's not coming out of a truck, premade and reassembled. It's fresh and unique and damn delicious. This is the best restaurant we have eaten at in Lexington. The chef/owners are doing amazing things with food and it's a must try. Alicia told us the menu changes with the seasons so we are looking forward to the next menu. Beautiful restaurant with a smart casual vibe. We were made to feel welcome by everyone starting with the hostess. Our server, Sydney, was excellent!! Extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We asked for guidance and she delivered!! We each chose a starter and a pasta and shared an entree. We were celebrating my birthday so hubby also ordered a bottle of wine. Great wine selection!! We started with the crispy potatoes ( accompanied by creme fresh and caviar, thank you Sydney!!) and the beets ( whipped goat cheese, jalapeño and toasted pistachios). Both were amazing!! We had Lumache ( Italian sausage made in Bardstown) think red sauce with a kick and the malfadine corte ( imported buffalo mozzarella ) both delicious!! Pastas are made fresh from scratch in the restaurant. We shared a perfectly cooked ribeye for our entree. We rounded out our meal with a birthday sundae and coffee. A wonderful experience from start to finish!!! 10/10 recommend!! Ask to be seated in Sydney's section! As we were leaving, every staff member we met thanked us for dining with them. I ate here for the first time with a friend a few days ago. I was really looking forward to the dinner. Unfortunately it was not what I expected. The service was uneven. The ambiance was noise noise noise. It was hard to have a conversation. I am Italian and I was really looking forward to an Italian fusion experience. The salads we ate were fair but not very interesting The pasta I had was the least interesting that I have ever eaten at a high end restaurant. I asked about the offerings and was told that the pasta would be like street corn in Mexico. It was the most bland and boring dish I have ever had.
