I've been here 3 times. This time was for chicken sandwich week, got the Beer battered chicken Pb&J sandwich! Was very tasty! I stop here when I stay in Lexington on business at the hotel across the road. There are so many IPAs that I don't even know what to do with myself. I love craft beer places like this, and Mr. Brews takes it to another level... it's overwhelming how many beers there are. The food is great, as far as bar food goes. What a real nice place the service was great the beer menu had plenty to choose from. The food menu was bar fare. I ordered the Kentucky Bourbon Classic burger it was a very good burger, cheddar cheese l, grilled onions, fried onions, bacon and Kentucky bourbon mayo. Burger was cooked the way I wanted it. I had the Pub Grub fries really good beer cheese sauce, green onions and bacon. I had two very good refreshing beers Lemonade Lager and Pa Pa Pa Pilsner. The fries were average shoestring fries, but were salted and peppered. I also ordered the Mac n cheese, which was not seasoned, and a little mushy (this could be due to delivery). They have heavier fare, such as Mac n cheese burgers, jalapeño popper burgers, fries covered in cheese and bacon, as well as wings and other pub fare. Let me be clear and say that I am reviewing the food and not the beer here. I did not imbibe on my visit today. First, I really like the small atmosphere here. You have a feeling going in that it's small enough that you're going to get great service, and you do. Our server was excellent. Drinks were refilled before hitting level zero. She was all over it. My wife went with the All American burger, my son with the California burger, my daughter with chicken tenders, and I went with the Ragin' Cajun Chicken sandwich. We had a variety of potato based sides, including fries, Parmesan fries, and Parmesan chips. How was it all? It was decent. It was good, not great. The burgers were, in my opinion, under-seasoned and uninspired. They were just good. The same could be said with the chicken sandwich I had and the chicken tenders. The fries were, well, soggy, and the Parmesan seasoning didn't really help there. Now, if your thing is a ton of craft beers, this might well be the place for you. But I'm about food first and beer second. I'll take great food and a Coors Light in a bottle any day of the week. There are better burger places in the city, such as Bad Wolf. It was 5:30 on a Wednesday night and the bar was full plus half of the tables were taken. It's a taproom and the beer selection doesn't disappoint. I'm not a beer drinker but the choice of ciders was great (Try the peach flavor!) We ordered the "Pub Grub" which reminded me of another bar's crack fries. They were very good and it was a huge portion. Really good. I am on a road trip and so this was a place that was different that we thought we would try. The bourbon burger was soooooo good. juicy, flavorful and the sauce had a really good taste. The food is very good and they have great happy hour specials throughout the week. Also a good spot to catch a game with a nice TV set up and lots of seating. It's a fabulous place to watch a sports event, especially UK Wildcats! If you like craft beer and a good selection from local breweries this is the place to be. Mr Brews has done a great job keeping their prices reasonable despite covid, and double digit inflation. Its a shame it never fully returned to its ore-covid glory. The days of a packed restaurant for trivia is gone. In fact many times trivia gets canceled for lack of participation. Have been to Mr. Brews several times and love the service, burgers and beer selection. BTW, the Ragin Cajun is the best burger in town. Went for lunch for the first today to get the lunch special. It's the All-American Burger, Fries/Chips, and a soft drink for $7.99. It also says for $9.99 you can get a beer. My wife ordered the $7.99 option and I chose the $9.99 option, however I was told fries don't come with that, only the burger and a beer. Went back and looked at the menu and the burger is $6.79 and the beer was $3.00, which is $0.20 cheaper than the special?? I think the intent is include fries/chips.
