Loved this Cheers-type bar and grill. Food was great; friendly atmosphere. The peanut butter pie? Homemade and heavenly!

Like having a drink in your kitchen with friends. Michelle and Jennifer are very friendly and cultured. They even talk Horse. Haha.

We were greeted and seated promptly inside. Our hostess and server were both friendly and engaged. They have outdoor seating, as well, but it was way too hot for that. We got water and menus right away. They serve Breakfast/Brunch from open to close (9 am to 3 pm, dinner hours Fri, Sat) as well as lunch items and the menu looks good all around. My wife got the Fried Green Tomato BLT. I got Brunch on a Bun (fried egg, a large sausage patty, pepperjack cheese, bacon jam, on a toasted pretzel bun). Both came with Tots that were crispy and hot. She said the BLT was great and it was large and a lot of food. My sandwich was hot and delicious, but really messy to eat with hands. Might be best as a knife & fork dish. Either way, it was a lot of food and I took home part of it for later. Both dishes were $17 and worth it. We look forward to going back as this experience was flawless.

Upon arrival, there was a bit of a wait, even though we had reservations and the restaurant was not at capacity. Once we were seated, Aubrey was very attentive--almost too attentive at first. We had barely sat down and hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu when she returned about two minutes later. We asked for a few more minutes, then ordered our water and drinks. Our wine arrived about 15 minutes later, and we placed our food order. About 20 minutes after that, our food was delivered by a different server. And then... no Aubrey. Ten minutes after our food arrived, Aubrey finally stopped by to check on us. By that point, there were issues with the food, but honestly, I was too tired to complain. Our wine glasses were empty, and she didn't ask if we wanted another. She simply moved on. The next time we saw her was when she brought the check. There was no offer of dessert, no final check-in, and no real effort to make sure we had enjoyed the meal. What made the experience even more disappointing was watching a server on the other side of the aisle provide attentive, engaged service to his tables throughout the evening. Well done, sir! Overall, this was a disappointing experience. The restaurant clearly has the ability to provide great service--we just didn't receive it. We were planning to go to Panda Cuisine after this, but we all got too full. Gonna try again soon. I also learned about eating the skin on a baked potato when I ate here. Never heard that you could do that before. But this news was welcome because it meant more potato to enjoy! Got some bread puddin to top it all off. There were a lot of jokes and stories told. My one friend loves telling the story of A&W from undergrad. When we went to Kroger and got lost with all our bags of food. Those plastic bags were snapping left and right. Everyone had a giggle at that one. Then we debated the best way to make banana puddin. One guy said something about putting creamed cheese in it. That was Cheese. He also uses Lorna Doone cookies in it. Huh? Our other friend ordered "stewed tomatoes." All in all, I would rate this experience relatively highly. Some people criticize me for "handing out" 5-star reviews on here, but it is not true. Check my profile. I'm hard to please. But Merrick in was my pleasure. I'd come here again and stuff. I guess you could say I gave this place one star for every guy in our party. We're all 5-star guys for the most part, but we'll donate those stars to Merick Inn, giving them my first 5-Star review since I don't know when!

My husband's and my meals were delicious!! We had creative dishes to choose from and I added pictures so you can see the presentation's. My husband enjoyed his old fashion so much he had another. I chose to go with the wine paring and it was the right move!! The grounds are pretty with beautiful trees, flowers, and bushes. There are herbs and vegetables that are used in the dishes. I'm unsure when the Inn was built, but I love the sound of the wooden floors. The choice of curtains, wall decor and the hand painted mural was a nice touch. The silverware was replaced after each dish. The hostess was so nice and took our pictures at the front entrance. Be sure to call and make reservations. The meal can be $$ or $$$, depending what you order. We decided to go out and treat ourselves to a wonderful meal and it was worth every bit!!

Alicia W provided exceptional service and was a joy to talk to. We tried the caviar and duck rilletes to share. The rilletes were the only thing we thought we could have done without. The duck is a bit rich and stringy and the bread really detracted from the dish - too hard and chewy. That said, the portions of each were very generous. Next we had the aguachile and corzetti with garlic scape pesto. The shrimp reminded me of ceviche as far as flavor profile. The pasta was unique from our perspective - never had corzetti. Both dishes were very good. Next was the salad as we do not like beets or gazpacho. Nice fresh salad with a dressing that was better than a typical vinaigrette. For mains we had the duck and the ribeye. Duck was prepared perfectly and the ribeye had a pesto and the patatas braves with accompanying (mild) chili sauce was a nice side addition. Very Espana!! Couldn't finish the steak by that point but enjoyed it a few days later. And finally the cheesecake and chocolate hazelnut choux pastry. The pastry was awesome!! All-in-all we were very happy we dined here.

We had a fun afternoon of burbon drinking after camping and Desperately needed something to eat. Unfortunately, it was so late everything was closed. We arrived an hour before close and quickly and apologetically ordered a couple cocktails and some food. I had the pimento hamburger and GIRL LEMME TELL YOU!!! Iv never had a hamburger more delicious in my entire life! It doesn't stop there, we then had the absolute pleasure of meeting the LADY BOSS (maybe the owner? I was pretty tipsy by then lol) She was AMAZING and after bonding of chef life and hearing how much I love chicken wings, she suggested they had the BEST and proceeded to make us an order HERSELF even tho they were pretty much closed! OH. MY. ACTUAL. GOSH...SHE WAS NOT WRONG! I can't tell you how serious I am when I tell you these were the BEST wings Iv ever had!! We are going to be camping in Smoky Mountains National Park for New Years weekend and have planned our trip specifically to include a stop here again for those wings!
