The food was delicious. Services was great. Nice little place for a date lunch. If you haven't been here you need to give them a try. Then you can walk around and enjoy the little town of Midway.

I have been here twice since I gave the one star review nine years ago and I need to update it. The food is very good. I got the Sea Bass, which was excellent but I don't care for the sauce that much. My wife had the Fried Chicken which is truly amazing. I will get the fried chicken next time. It is a crispy fried boneless breast that is seasoned very well with a delicious gravy. It's a great atmosphere and the service is good.

One of the better upscale restaurants we've been to in the area (Versailles/Midway/Frankfort). The chicken livers are so decadent and rich. Not pictured but highly recommended.

For starters: fresh daily made salted pretzel rolls! We ate so many! I got the gumbo soup, had some Cajun kick to it! For dinner: $46 Red snapper, glazed carrots and mashed garlic potatoes. $55 Filet, potatoes asparagus. Dessert: dark chocolate moose with raspberries. Awesome atmosphere for a special date or occasion! Salad, soup, wine glass, two dinners. $147

Met with friends for Christmas lunch. Had the fish & chips --- 3 beautiful pieces of crispy fish with perfect fries. Came with malt. Vinegar, tartar sauce and sliced pickles. Excellent lunch and service. We shared the eggnog crem brulee and a sorghum cookie. Delish! Being in Midway, it's easy to forget about Heirloom. Make your way there for a special lunch. You won't be disappointed. 125

Consistently great! The chicken is always cooked to perfection, the grilled cheese is obscenely good and the fish tacos were so good!!! We visited in memory of Tom Sayre who was a regular here that passed due to cancer.

Been here so many times and the still as good as the first time. The menu changes seasonally which keeps it fresh. Today we had the Summer Panzanella, Tuna Tartare and Chicken Mushroom Soup. All excellent. The drinks are always on point. Had the old fashioned and salted carmel martini. Melissa at the bar will keep you happy. You need to come check this place out.

Absolutely phenomenal restaurant! Small intimate setting, great atmosphere, amazing staff, and INSANELY GOOD FOOD! I had the shrimp and grits (have a great flavor and spice but ARE NOT SPICY - Perfection), mussels were killer (and I've never eaten mussels but would eat them every day from here), bread with the bourbon spread - chefs kiss , Hibiscus-Basil Lemonade - left me without words! Crème Brulee with an Espresso- perfect way to end the meal! 10/10 would recommend to anyone coming through who wants phenomenal food with a serene atmosphere!

Snapper was good. Sauce was spot on.

This was part of impromptu dinner at the LRK3DE 2023. The place was packed and but we didn't have to wait too long. Made reservation the day of. The place is cozy and food was good. I love caesar salads with anchovies!!!

Headed here for a last minute Friday night dinner. Booked the reservation one day before with no problem. Short drive from Lexington. Pros: great atmosphere, quaint, small town, outdoor seating. The beet salad was great. The appetizer special with hoecakes and quail eggs was great. Cons: the sauces were a little off. The soup was too thick and a little congealed. The cacio e Pepe was basically fettuccine with sauce that was too thick.. The Maine mussels were fresh but again did not like the sauce.

Spiced old fashioned - not too sweet, made with Four Roses bourbon. Delicious!

What's the dress code for this place? Will be in area July 1-3. Thx

It’s casual. Lunchtime may see office attire. Might also see someone dressed nicely en route to an event. But, most folks are relaxed and comfortable.

The chicken breast itself was exceptionally large, tender, and juicy perfectly fried the Nashville sauce on it was hot, but not too hot you know what I mean and the coleslaw wasn't runny and have too much mayonnaise. It was just a really good solid cold coleslaw. The brioche bun was excellent. My wife's Cuban sandwich was amazing and my mother-in-law's hamburger was very good as well. The only thing I will say is that the service from the young man that we had was just average. It took us a lot of effort, joking around with him, asking his suggestions and recommendations to get him to even smile I would suggest that he acts like he wants to be working and not come across to his customers like we're a bother to him. If that wouldn't have been the case, this would've been a 5+ star review.

There was no parking in their parking lot, so we had to drive down the hill and try our luck with street parking, then walk back up about 5-7 minutes to get into the restaurant. A bit of a pain, especially since the restaurant was only about 50% full. The host or person at the front desk was hiding - sitting on the floor on his phone. We had to lean over the counter to ask him to get up so we could ask him to seat us. He ended up being our server as well, after he literally argued with a coworker who walked up while we were inquiring about a table. "I just took the last two damn tables, isn't it your turn?" doesn't inspire confidence that you're a welcome guest. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown. When in Rome, right? The menu says you can get it with Mornay sauce or Kentucky Hot Brown sauce. I asked the waiter which was better - he said the Hot Brown sauce. Sounds great! It came out with the mornay sauce. It was still good, but I was a wee bit disappointed. My companions enjoyed their meals. I picked up a reasonably priced bottle of Sazerac Rye on the way out, since they didn't have any left at the distillery when I was there earlier in the visit.

My wife had already heard wonderful things about Holly Hills, so we made a reservation without hesitation. At our appointed time, we arrived with friends and were quickly seated. After ordering drinks, we looked over the menu and were excited to see that Holly Hill offers Service à la russe -- a style of dining where each course is served sequentially, allowing you to savor every dish individually. (They even let you choose from several options for each course, which makes the experience even more personal.) I absolutely love this type of service, though my biggest challenge was deciding which delicious-sounding dish to pick for each course! Every plate we had was fantastic. The scallop course was perfectly prepared, and the sweet squash and wild grain soup was rich and flavorful. The duck breast that followed was beautifully cooked, and the apple tart was the perfect ending -- sweet, warm, and comforting. The food was outstanding, but I'd be remiss not to mention the wonderful wait staff. They were friendly, attentive, and really added to the overall experience. I'm already looking forward to the next time my travels bring me near Holly Hill Inn -- I'll definitely be back to enjoy the food (and the hospitality) all over again.

Rodney's is a genteel bar/eatery in a restored house with an upmarket seafood & steak menu, plus outdoor seating. For our opening course, we tried the Sea Divers Scallops. These were tandoori-rubbed and served with a sweet Thai chili sauce. The scallops had a good sear and a slight crunch, with the tandoori rub offering a mild, earthy kick and a hint of chili powder flavor. The scallop was light and melted in your mouth. The Thai chili sauce added a sweet heat combo that complemented the scallops perfectly. We then shared the Lobster Bisque, which our server recommended. The bisque was very creamy, with a slightly thicker, velvety texture than typical bisques. It was so creamy that it almost tasted like it had cheese in it, which it did not. It had a salty, slightly paprika-spiced flavor, while the sherry added a slight nutty note. This was an excellent dish and worth the drive itself. For my main course, I ordered the Lamb Chops. They were char-grilled with roasted garlic mint demi-glace and the Potato de jur, which is smoked Gouda au gratin. My lamb was spot-on medium-rare; however, the char was a little hard and bitter, especially on the edges. This was present in most bites. The mint sauce added a touch of sweetness and depth to the meat's flavor. The potatoes were cooked through and offered a slight chew. The Gouda was creamy and nutty, pairing well with the potatoes, though it needed a bit more seasoning. My wife chose the Filet for her main course. She ordered it medium rare with Weisenberger white cheddar grits and green peppercorn cream sauce. Her grits were cooked well and not overdone; the cheddar was only topped on the dish and not melted into it, but it did offer a sharp bite. We both found them to be bland and in need of seasoning. The peppercorn sauce was creamy, with the onions adding texture, crunch, and a slight sweetness, while the peppercorns popped with flavor and mild heat. The steak was seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare; it melted in your mouth. However, the hard char on the edges added a heavy, bitter flavor to most bites. Rodney's menu features appetizers, soups, salads, prime beef selections, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. They offer a full bar with beer and soda selections. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will offer suggestions and advice. The Fat Man says that Rodney's on Broadway is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.

We will never waste our money here again. Service was awful, appetizer burned, both duck and steak were overcooked. My meal was supposed to come with asparagus that was no where to found. When I inquired about the side, I was told that the asparagus was ground up in the half dollar size polenta cake. SERIOUSLY?? Duck portion was less than 4 ounces (mostly fat). . $45 for a tiny filet. These folks are trying to play at being a real restaurant when all they're really doing is robbing people blind with sub par food and service. One person covering 5 (yes, 5 WHOLE tables). Even on an incredibly slow night service was awful. I don't know about anybody else out there, but I don't have $200 to throw away on BS restaurants. Especially disappointing on your anniversary. Let we not forget the wines, no brands listed, that tasted like watered down crap. The only reason their Facebook says 100% recommended is because they delete any reviews that say otherwise, Trust me and skip this one. Go to Carsons, Corto Limo or Guiseppes for amazing food and service. Guess I should have ordered the hamburger. Live and learn.
