    Half Hotbrown -delicious!
    Drew G.

We went on Saturday night about 6:30 to watch the end of the UK game. This place was perfect! It has big tvs and a nice clean atmosphere. The place was full but there were still a few open tables fortunately. They had the garage doors open and it was a beautiful evening. I ordered a half of a Hot Brown and my wife got the Cajun pasta with blackened chicken. We both enjoyed the food very much. The vegetables in my wife's dish were very fresh and abundant. The mornay sauce on the hot brown was rich and delicious.

Wings- half buffalo, half sweet chili.

Great food and drinks! We visited on a Saturday night but were seated quickly. We loved the open air seating on a pleasant evening. I ordered the Pixie Stick Martini (recommended by our server) and it was really good. I like sweet drinks. My husband and I shared wings, catfish fingers, and a half order Hot Brown. Everything was well prepared and the service was excellent. The Hot Brown portion was generous for a "half" and it tasted great. The wings and fried catfish were really good too. We will come again when we are in Lexington.

The vibe is on point. We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken. We ordered Hot Brown Fries as an appetizer and they were 10/10. The hubs ordered a smash burger and it was a 10/10. The onion rings were hand battered and fried to perfection. I ordered the catfish strips off the appetizer menu due to the huge portion of Hot Brown fries we had. The catfish was hand battered, fresh and fried to perfection. 10/10. The tartar sauce was too sweet for me so I give it a 5/10. Will return to try more things!

This visit marked our third time at OBC Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint. This time we experimented with timing and booked an early reservation at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. We crossed over into the dinner menu and discovered something wonderful: the service and ambiance were even better than the busier evening hours after 6 pm. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every dish and cocktail option was explained thoughtfully, which I appreciate, especially because I enjoy cocktails that come with a bit of theater. When drinks are presented with care, described well, and executed beautifully, the experience becomes part performance, part craft. Here, they delivered perfectly. The food, as always, was superb. We shared several chef selections including Beef Tallow Fries, Southern Grouper, Bacon in a Glass, and the Cola-Braised Short Ribs. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and confidently executed. Dessert continued the celebration with the Churro Cheesecake, and to our delight we were also gifted the Warm Buttermilk Donuts, which felt like a small act of culinary generosity. In a departure from my usual Manhattan and Old Fashioned flights, I tried a Bloody Mary and The Cure, both excellent and beautifully balanced. At this point I can confidently say OBC Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. The consistency, creativity, and hospitality make every visit memorable. A special thank you to the team who took care of us on Saturday, March 7th, 2026. You elevated an already wonderful experience and made it even better than usual.

But the food was so good! I had been there once before, shortly after opening, and thought it was so-so. But the 2nd visit was a much better experience. Since we had a large group, we sampled each other's dishes and everything was delicious. The burrata appetizer was really good. I had the "make me something sweet" mocktail and it was pretty and tasted refreshing. Our server was top notch and explained every dish on the menu, and gave us recommendations. He really took his time with us, and you could tell he was a pro. More excited to return after this second visit than after the first! 11/26

For our appetizer, we had the beef tartare, it was also just okay. We didn't even finish half of it. The star of the dish was the rye crisp, unfortunately. For our entree we had the baked rigatoni and the pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin dish was delicious and so was the rigatoni. That was a plus. It was extremely loud in the restaurant. Be prepared to yell at your table partner. Between the amount of people talking loudly (I assume to attempt to talk over the loud music) and the music, and being seated really near other people, having a conversation was difficult. So don't go with anyone who is hard of hearing with background noise (my husband lol). Food took a little longer than what I'd prefer to come out. The restaurant itself had a great vibe and decorations were cute.
