The front door wasn't closing completely as customers came in, which resulted in flies throughout the restaurant. Before I could even finish the second half of my sandwich, a fly landed on it, and I had to throw it away. The restaurant was noticeably dirty and uncomfortably warm. We asked for the ceiling fans to be turned on, but it took quite a while before someone was able to find the switch. The locks on the women's restroom stalls didn't work, and the restaurant had also run out of ice for drinks. I'm not sure if the restaurant has changed ownership, if management was absent, or if this was simply an off day, but the experience was dramatically different from the positive visits we've had in the past. It's disappointing to see such a noticeable decline.

The wines chosen were all excellent and her presentation informative and entertaining. The wines were not just tastings but generous pours. The food pairings were excellent as well. Served family style, it felt as if we were dining with friends in Greece. Food servings were not 'bites' but generous as well. CJ hung around and was more than happy to continue answering any questions diners might have. A little sweet bite to end the night would have been welcomed, but did not lessen the overall enjoyment. My wife said her Chicken Salad Sandwich was bland with little flavor and her chips were just like mine. She did like her soup. We did not get drinks, only their warm served water. With tip, our lunch was $48. Very overpriced for the quality of our lunch today.

The room they put us in was a little darker than I like. When the waitress finally came to our table, which felt like forever we ordered our drinks and food at the same time asking for our condiments as well when ordering. She brought the muffins out and there were two little bite size muffins on a plate with two balls of butter (very disappointing). The butter was almost bigger than the muffins. I ordered the Shaker breakfast, and my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. We each ordered a sweet tea to drink. The food came out with no drinks or condiments in which we had asked for. We had to remind her of our drinks, condiments etc. and my husband asked for some more water. The food overall was really good. However, our waitress never came back to check on us or to see if we needed anything. The restaurant wasn't busy and the other server in the area was very attentive to her customers offering them more muffins, drinks etc. I even made the comment to my husband that I wished she had been our waitress. The interior has the feeling of being a little cramped, but who cares? We ate outside on a beautiful day. To say I was pleasantly surprised by the place is an understatement. I strongly recommend.
