    Eggs Benedict

New breakfast and lunch spot opened in Versailles, and we picked Valentine's day to give it a shot. It did not disappoint! I love this location, it's convenient and the fireplace has always been cozy and nice to sit by, so very happy they opened here after Spark closed. Their take on eggs Benny is nice, the polenta cake is great. And their house made bacon is tasty. I had the steak and eggs and the chimichurri is FANTASTIC and the skirt steak was cooked perfectly. Service was awesome, the team is friendly and fast. Round the whole thing out with a full bar so you can have a nice bloody mary or mimosa Overall a great experience. Happy to have the Black Squirrel in our little town :)

    The Breakfast Hotbrown

Fast service Generous portions The Breakfast Hotbrown was very good and my wife enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich

The 'omelette' was an overcooked frittata. The waffles must have been frozen

We really wanted the Black Squirrel to be good - darn!! The drip coffee was good. (The mugs are tiny) The omelette was not good at all. Overcooked/burned egg smell. It wasn't even an omelette, but more like a frittata. The over easy eggs were cooked correctly, the bacon was cold and greasy. The waffles were the worst. Eggo would be better. No butter, cold syrup. So disappointed! I gave two stars because everyone was nice.

Blink and you might miss it but if you're lucky enough to stop in you will leave full of delicious home cooked food! And with a smile on your face from the great service and environment. Our recent stop was for pancakes before school and some time to study vocabulary words...not a bad combo for a kid if you ask me. My only draw back is that parking is tight during certain times of the day, but if the lot is full it's because people know how delicious this place is!! Did I mention everything is farm to table and you can even purchase some local meats here during certain seasons.

They offer fresh, farm-to-table food at a very affordable price, and you can genuinely taste the quality and care that goes into each dish. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared and consistent, which is why I couldn't wait to return. The atmosphere really sets this place apart. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. It's also a Christ-centered restaurant, which adds a meaningful positive element to the overall experience. I ordered the meatloaf the first time I came and it was absolutely amazing. Second visit, I got a bun-less burger and fries with green beans. Also got a biscuit and gravy and chocolate cake to go. Everything was delicious and so fulfilling. I can't wait to return, it's super yummy. If you're looking for great food, fair pricing, and a warm, uplifting environment, Farm Kitchen is absolutely worth a visit. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back again.

This is quite possibly the best restaurant to ever exist in Stanford…read more I grew up in Stanford, I can tell you that in the 1980's and 1990's that local restaurants here were nothing but no-name greasy spoon diners selling nothing but fairly generic "burger and fries" and breakfast food, and it was usually pretty lousy. I was back in the town I grew up in a couple of weeks ago, and heard there was a really nice cafe in Stanford now called the Bluebird, so I sought it out. I was amazed. This definitely is more like a place I would expect in Lexington or Louisville. The food is genuinely good. Iced coffee and espresso, hot browns, and lots of other food that was never in Stanford when I was growing up there as a kid. I know that Stanford went wet a few years ago in a referendum, but it's still surreal to see margaritas and other mixed drinks on the menu in a place in Stanford. The ambiance was friendly and welcoming, and struck a nice balance between small town friendly. I had a patty melt, which was probably the best meal I'd ever had in a restaurant in Stanford in my entire life. I will definitely be back the next time I come back to my old hometown.

Freshly sautéed shrooms, cooked perfectly, juicy, seasoned well, served on a brioche bun. They offered a great selection of sides. I chose the chicken lemon orzo soup. It was a generous serving abundant w tender chicken. Our server, Autumn, was personable and, simply, just perfect at her job. We will return.
