Finally made it back for my second visit to Local Feed. This time was for a Lexington Bourbon Society group event with 25-30 people. We sat mostly on the front patio with a table or two inside later in the evening. Everyone ordered their own food and drinks. Adam and his bar staff took great care of us. They got the first rounds of drinks taken care of then took food orders. The deviled eggs were popular, plentiful, and delicious. I got the fried chicken (again) with a side of real mashed potatoes and gravy. It was fantastic (again). I really should try something else sometime. But others did and I heard no complaints. They serve breakfast any time and a couple got omelettes and cleaned their plates, raving about the hashbrowns (no meat fat to cook, so vegetarian friendly). All the cocktails were good. New seasonal menu had just started and the Marmalade Sour got good reviews. They have a larger patio out back and an ample dining room. It's a great stop when in Georgetown. This place never disappoints. We went on a Friday late lunch hours and we had the out side patio to ourselves. The staff were very attentive, kind, and helpful. The country style setting, herbs in pots in patio to use of mismatched vintage plates, makes for quaint atmosphere. The food was just what we needed for a light late lunch. 10/10 recommend. The hostess is the first impression. We were the only patrons for Kayla who sat us & took our order so it wasn't like an overwhelmed, short staffing attitude. It was snooty, rude, no she can not turn the fan off that's why they 'wear sweaters to work'... though it's freezing inside & outside ok... so the freshly brewed super strong coffee, kept my hands warm. Ordered the omelet add ham... she said no, the ham for the Benedict is only for the Benedict... lol ok. Service zero once again. Like I'm doing you a favor. Mind youn I'm a great tipper anyways. The omelet was 4 stars. Mushrooms, farmers cheese... guess that was goat cheese, always a nice combo. Compliments to the chef for the tomato jam spread which truly made the omelet. Add sausage since ham was an issue, & for me a meat was needed! Replaced the grits or 'hash browns' sides, which were home fries, for salad w/ herb vinegarette on my order. It was fresh, a bit bland. (Sausage or something gave us both heartburn, not their fault just fyi) Overall, if I owned a restaurant, local food, local support is want friendly service to all guests & a smile upon entering & leaving. 4 of 6 times dining here have been awful service. read more

Fantastic place. I'm tempted to eat everything on the menu. The sloppy Joe was so good it was almost obscene. I would recommend going out of your way to have dinner here. WELL! Let me tell you it's been about 20years since i was there last AND WOW! Crap then and crap now basically it's still over priced Cracker Barrel food. Sorry, The Cracker is better. They seem to "Try" to be fancy but No. They try to be country, i think bringing your water in quart jars and cast iron for bread and meatloaf. Between the four of us we had steak, meatloaf, stroganoff and a pasta dish. Again I could have had better at The Cracker. Beers ok selection "Old Fashion " made by 2 year old (pretty sure!) Long story short $156 for 4 people with 3 alcoholic drink (2 people) and waters other 2. So yeah! Save your time and money and go else where. Oh, forgot to mention half our meals went home for the chickens! Pretty sure they didn't eat either read more

The atmosphere is very nice and it seemed like a popular local place. I was asked about reservations but since I didn't have one hostess did accommodate our party of 2. We had 2 farmers salads , corn bread, wagyu burger and wagyu chopped steak. Steak and burger were burnt. I ate my burger cause I was hungry but my husband wasn't able to because of burnt steak. On the other hand Corn bread and farmers salad were great. Water didn't taste great either. I had alcoholic drink from their special menu for that day. It was ok. So, at this point, I'd say the cooking needs improvement. read more

I cannot get enough of this fried chicken cooked to perfection tender well balanced plate. Mistaken eggs can't go wrong eggs cooked a perfection steak cook cooked the perfection little small for the price of the steak but my God the flavor was absolutely there the biscuits and gravy. I shouldn't even have to write about how good they are, but I'm going to anyways absolutely amazing biscuits. You can tell they make these homemade from scratch. You can tell they put love in their gravy. The Benedict wasn't as standard as the other dishes, but nothing short of amazing. I just like a little more hollandaise sauce. One of the downfalls of potatoes were a little greasy, but my God they were just this place. You can't get enough of the inviting hometown. Feel vibes are just something that you cannot describe the cleanliness I believe it was the owner that was there that morning, and he sat there and talked with us about music festivals. He was absolutely nothing short of professional and respectful. We will come here every time in the area. We're really sad. One of our favorite restaurants on a road trip. This time did not disappoint either. The service was friendly and quick The restaurant was full but not loud. The food was amazing. The Brussels side plate is a must have! My husband enjoyed every bite of his steak. I had the beef stroganoff. It was good but had quite a bit of pepper. The salad with sorghum vinaigrette was good, mostly greens and dressing The mac and cheese had a smoked flavor and so good. The blackberry cobbler was out if this world! Mostly cobbler with a few pieces of fruit. Our meal was around $150 with one old fashioned, 2 meals, sides and desserts. We will be back! read more

Twenty minutes later my party has already eaten and the server brings back the same burger I originally cut into to see how done it was, with no toppings still. We were driving through Kentucky and decided to stop at this place for lunch around noon on a Sunday. It is a little out of the way on a side street of the main downtown area. Street parking is available. They have bar seating, dining room seating, and outdoor seating. We chose the dining room seating. Our waiter told us they only had the buffet available that day. We chose to stay and get the buffet. It had salad, beets, deviled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, fried chicken, meatloaf, whipped potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and apple pie for dessert, the cost was around $25 per person and was all you can eat. read more

This is the place to go if you are on a HIGH sodium diet. Everything we had was so salty we couldn't eat it. I had the Wagyu burger, ordered it medium and it was cooked completely through and crispy. Went there for dinner last night. Was so disappointed. We have always had good meals there, but last night was different. We ordered chicken and it was way overcooked and very salty. Ordered broccoli casserole and it was so salty we couldn't eat it. Our waiter saw that we weren't eating our meals and apologized. Didn't offer to bring us anything to replace it. So we thought dessert would be better but no the peach cobbler was so overcooked we could hardly scoop it out of the dish. $150 wasted and still hungry our waiter informed us that a new chef was working. read more

I'm not one to criticize restaurants as I've owned one before....and previous experiences by some family members have been ok at this restaurant.... But tonight was a disaster! Server was nice, got drink orders timely. But...food service was slow (at least 30 min), when it was brought out, at least 2 items were duplicated, the soups were so peppery you couldn't eat them, corn bread was overcooked and dry, burgers that were supposed to be well done looked barely cooked, hash browns had the same issue as soup. The French Onion soup was so peppery that i couldn't taste the onions. Worst of all... our bill was $350 as a group and maybe $60 of it was ok to eat. We aren't those people that send things back so we struggled to eat what we could. Worst thing of all, my niece who chose the place to eat was so upset that almost everyone's food including hers were simply not good. Sorghum butter was a nice surprise and my brother said his brisket sandwich was good, another person liked their cat fish. Everyone else did not like their meals. I've not been here, but the ambience and building were fantastic. I'm hoping it was just new staff or an off night. Dear owners, please investigate. Our experience at Local Feed was absolutely wonderful. Our server for the evening was Billie Jean and she was so charming and fun to chat with. She honestly made our already great evening even better. We had: + 2 pieces of fried chicken with dark meat with a side of Mac and cheese. The fried chicken was delicious and juicy and crisp! The mac and cheese was creamy + Wagyu meat loaf with mashed potatoes. These mashed potatoes were seasoned super well, and of course with lots of butter lol. The wagyu meatloaf was served in a skillet, a nice way to cook it evenly + Passionfruit Dark & Stormy. Delicious! Not too heavy on the alcohol which was perfect for my preferences + Old fashioned. Just generally bland. Cornbread was dry and a little overcooked (but the butter was good). Chicken was well cooked and juicy, but so bland. A boring bite. The blue cheese dressing on the salad had dill in it. Very bizarre flavor combo and not in a good way. (My niece's ranch dressing also had dill in it) Also, cukes in the salad were bitter, but the greens were ok. My sister's hush puppies were (you guessed it-bland). The only thing that was a solid win was the deviled eggs. Excellent flavor and texture. I really was excited about Local Feed. It was so highly regarded on here. I practically ran to it in wild anticipation. However, if this rating was for food only it would a 2. The staff and atmosphere were great. We were seated right away, and our waitress was so sweet about explaining things. (I think her name was Cleo). Deviled eggs looked beautiful but were absolutely underwhelming. There was not a single positive or noteworthy taste or essence. Yolk and heavy yellow mustard was all I was getting. The liver pate was out of this world!! By far our favorite thing of the night!!! We ordered the Brussels on our waitresses advice. This seems like it could have been on the right track, but the Brussels themselves were soooo soft that they could have passed as frozen. Setting on a bed of mustard cream sauce, spattering of ham, poached eggs on top, these babies were Crisp, I would have considered eating more. Fried chicken had a lovely crispy skin, and yummy brined, almost sweet chicken meat. Ham and beans/cornbread. I wish this would have been more on the mark. The flavor was ok. But it was so watery. Perhaps this is a personal preference. I like my beans with some body. Hushpuppies we're fine. And the majority of what we had tonight (sans fried chicken and bean soup) had some sort of mustard. Deviled eggs, pate (course grain mustard) Brussels (mustard cream sauce) Hushpuppies (mustard sauce). The strawberry cocktail was fresh and lovely.
