Nice staff. Good food but was a bit disappointed from previous visits at other Cracker Barrels. I ordered the 4 piece fried chicken dinner with hash brown casserole and green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. (Sawmill?) I got 2 fried chicken Patty's. They were tasty but i was in mood for the old bone in fried chicken i love. The casserole i received only 2 Tablespoons of. And the gravy on mashed potatoes was nearly tasteless. Cracker Barrel is pretty reliable from location to location. This restaurant in Georgetown is always clean and the service is prompt and friendly. Tonight was no exception. We arrived too early for a dinner time rush so the dining area was not crowded and there was less ambient noise so that was especially nice. My wife had wanted breakfast and lo and behold Cracker Barrel has a breakfast anytime menu. The menu over the past couple years has been streamlined and the company has made other changes such as adding alcohol to the beverage offerings. But the nuts and bolts of why folks go to Cracker Barrel has remained. Country cooking and warm surroundings with quality foods and people who are glad you're there. The retail store side has always had unique novelty gift and snack items, and they have created a big music footprint with country and Americana performers. Bottom line is you can't go wrong with Cracker Barrel if you looking for a nice dining experience with no surprises. read more

Haven't been here in a while and my wife and I decided too eat here yesterday for lunch. The restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly. Place looked clean, and you could smell the fresh food. Nancy our server was very polite and quick too get our drinks and place our order. My wife had pancakes with eggs and sausage. I had the grilled chicken with onion pedals and a salad. The food was great and quick too the table. My salad had a great chill too it, and my chicken and pedals were very hot and tasted good. Food is always good at CB. Always seem to have breakfast. Tried the new hash brown tots and boy are they good. Server Leslye was very friendly and though busy, handled the load like a pro. Even if 330 pm. Standard CB store with standard decor. Always something to look at. Lastly, a observation- no matter how experienced or busy one is - never head to the kitchen empty handed - my server, made multiple trips NOT taking dirty dishes back to kitchen - including mine. Monday early evening around 5:50pm. Kind of busy but also not all the tables were filled. Server came by quickly asking if I needed time. I was ready so placed order right away and waited for 15-20min. Probably the kitchen was backed up. Drinks were served right after around 6pm. The food came out around 6:20pm. Everything was good. Trouts were super delicious. Chose steamed broccoli and whole kernel corn. Best choices. I added two sunny side up fried eggs on the side. The presentation wasn't the best but I did not mind it at all. Added large orange juice at $2.99. All came out at around $21 and added 20% to be at just under $26. Not really sure how I feel about this Cracker Barrel. It's a hit or miss. The first time I was in there, I was sat at a dirty table with dishes still on it just push to the corner told that somebody would be there to pick them up . When the server came up to me, she kept calling me, darling, honey sweetheart, and brought me a cup of coffee that was half full that look like it had been sitting on somebody's table when she brought it to me so I asked her to bring me a fresh cup of coffee She had a little bit of an attitude and this was a morning server. Then I come in and I had the sweetest young man Jackson come up and take my ticket order. I told him I would appreciate it if my food would come out hot because I have sat inside the restaurant and been served cold food too many times he took my order And I tipped him well and my food was out in less than five minutes and by the time I drove home, my food was still hot. I was very impressed with him but other times I'll come in and place a tickle order and it'll take me 20 minutes if not longer to get my food and when I get to the car, it's cold and I don't mind but when I know that it's something that's already been made and dip products. I know it doesn't take that long to make. I just think that some places need to really concentrate on customer service and cleanliness a little bit more even the bathrooms are always dirty. I am so disappointed in the quality of CB's food now. The green beans are horrible now-tastes like they literally dumped a big can of green beans and heated them on the stove. In NO WAY are these country style green beans. Secondly the meatloaf is not nearly as good as it used to be. I dont know what they did but it wasn't an improvement. Next, I hate the new plating where they dont put the sides in their own little dishes. They slop it all on one plate and then the juices of the green beans (or greens) dilutes all the other items on the plate. I rarely write bad reviews (or reviews at all). I only wrote this in hopes that someone at corporate would see and encourage a change back to when the food was good. On a positive note the fried chicken tenders were delicious! read more

This was our first time dining at Craker Barrel. We went here because we didn't feel like driving far and this place was located in front of our hotel.. I wish I can give more stars. To be honest, I will give this place one star but I really can't do it to my server. Place - as soon as we walk in the restaurant, we went through some kind of a gift shop. I said this will be interesting since I have three kids with me. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind it though. I actually like the idea. Once we stepped in that's where the problem actually started. The floor is sticky. The table is sticky. The chair has crumbs on it. Luckily I had my sanitizing wipes with me so I wipe the table and chair. The server - we got the nicest and loveliest lady ever. She always checked on us and put my kids order first because she knew how kids can be scary if they're hungry. The 3 stars are for her. The food and price - The fish that I got was good however the hash brown was too dry and the green beans was spoiled and mushy. You can taste the sourness in it. My husband got the fried chicken and has brown. The chicken was actually good. My kids lunch was good except for the mashed potatoes. It didn't taste fresh. I really can't explain it but it's kinda sour. Price wise I don't mind. The portion was good. I just wish the taste was better. It's been a couple of years since I have been to this particular Cracker Barrel. Came here with my sister and husband yesterday. My sister got the Wednesday special of broccoli chicken and mashed potatoes and chicken and dumplings. She doesn't have a Cracker Barrel where she lives; so this was a real treat. She said that it was absolutely delicious and had such a great flavor. She wished the cornbread was a little softer; but that was really her only complaint. I had their chicken n dumplings. Finally found a restaurant that they don't use eggs in their dumplings....win-win for me. It literally is the perfect pregnancy food. I had a side of corn with it, which I honestly thought was very bland. I felt it could have used some butter and salt, at the very least. Their side of sweet carrots was fantastic. Perfect taste all around. My husband had their bacon cheese burger with extra bacon and extra cheese. He said that everything was fantastic. And their biscuits were great. Sad they only brought butter out but it was still warm and acceptable. Will definitely have to come back before 2 years next time. read more

10/29/23 - seated at 11:05. No one acknowledged us until I asked at 11:20. We got our drinks and requested of the manager and a waitress that picked us up for silverware at 11:40. At 11:45 we received those for the biscuits. It is obvious they are short staffed and this is partly to blame Cracker Barrel. If you can't handle the customer load, decrease the size of dinning area. I always think Cracker Barrel is a descent food place. They always have tough pancakes and I usually don't have any issues. But and there is a but. We order chicken, salad and potatoes. The waitress had a couple tables and not super busy. It took a while to get my salad out but she did bring it..Here's the but. As soon as she set it down she handed me my chicken..I Hate when the salad and meal arrive the same time because you have to eat the hot food first then the salad and the whole world is upside down. I didn't blame here and told her it wasn't her fault she didn't make the salad...here it comes. Oh yes I make the salad...nooooo it is your fault . She said I'll take your meal off. Not what I was expecting but said OK ..She did and I took the salad and ate it the next day hoping next time she will get the salad out before the meal. I get the chicken all the time and this is the first time it was dry almost tasted reheated. I will be thinking of other choices next time we are out and want some food. So disappointing. read more

Possibly the worst meal I've ever been served in a restaurant. GF ordered some kind of apple-tini drink. It was served in a jelly jar, half full, slightly below room temperature, and the waiter said something to the effect of "If it's real bad let me know so I can send it back and get you another one." Like he already knew it was terrible because other people had mentioned it. That was the vibe I got. And it was not a good drink. Ordered steak and chicken, gf ordered trout. Mistakes were made. Steak was flavorless, chewy gray matter. Chicken was equally terrible, with a raw spot in the middle, which was baffling because it was such an incredibly thin cut of meat. Mashed potatoes and beans were all cold. Gf's trout was...odd. Grits were absolutely disgusting. We both got a few bites in and came to the same conclusion - no one should eat this food. The waiter asks us how everything is, notices we've both stopped eating. I just ask him for a check. He didn't cook it, I don't blame him, so I'd rather just pay my bill and try to forget how bad everything was. He comes back with a check, asks us if everything was alright and if we want a to-go box. I told him it was truly awful, no box necessary. He takes the check back and brings his manager out. I tell him the same thing, everything was cold and disgusting, and I just wanted a check so I could leave. He seemed upset, refused to give me a check, and apologized for the food not "being up to my standards." I just said my standards are quite low, this food is just objectively bad and I can't eat it. So, that was awkward and unpleasant. I've never sent food back in my life, or asked to speak to someone about the quality of my meal or service. Cracker Barrel is like going to your favorite distant relative's house for dinner. You don't come here a lot, but when you do, it's familiar, cozy, and predictive with a nice. low-fuss 'home-cooked' meal. I've always had a pleasant experience at this location -- and I also avoid going at peak hours. We never have to wait very long, our food arrives within a reasonable time, the food is always what we order/expect and delicious, our waitresses area generally attentive, everyone is friendly, and we spend just the right amount of money here --- with so much better food for the same price or less than many of the fast food restaurants around here! My son especially enjoys playing with the tricky triangle game that is on the tables. After a meal, we always enjoy looking at the fun and cute items in the store area -- especially during the holidays (it is much easier to shop this area without a toddler that wants all the little toys, though). I tend to forget that Cracker Barrel exists -- both as a good spot to get an affordable meal and a great place to find some cute gifts. Maybe writing this review will help remind me to come here more often. ;-) read more

My first time at this location, I brought my companion for a birthday dinner for myself. It took about 10 minutes to be seated but constantly told by staff that "We'd be seated shortly". When finally sat we took a few minutes to look over the menu after giving our drink order. We ordered me with the lemon pepper rainbow trout with side salad and dumplings. Melissa got the meatloaf, cornbread stuffing, and corn (not preferred creamed corn) When our food finally arrived, our waitress was too quick to ask if our food tasted good but not if we needed anything when we hadn't had a moment to take a bite? But no sooner did I acknowledge her, she was gone and Melissa could not ask for ketchup. I found some on a neighborhibg table for her and began eating. My food was as good as always, but Melissa's meatloaf was sub par and dry. Her stuffing was good and we wrapped up after being asked a 100xs if we were good. Annoying. The load mash potatoes were decent and the broccoli was ok. But $100 for burnt chicken and canned biscuits. Nope. This was third strike for this place. Change your fryer oil. Wow, I tell you what I have never had such a horrid experience at any restaurant chain in my life as I just had here. I went in and saw something neat in the store. I posted that on instagram and was expecting a decent meal. Well since then I have decided to delete that instagram post, and am having a decent meal across the street at Waffle House after paying for one at Cracker Barrel. The server Lacy, shouldn't be a server, actually should should never visit with the public in a capacity that relates to a company. I wanted just two eggs over hard and some sausage no bread etc. Since I can't drink and eat at the same time I just ordered water. When my order arrived she kind of slammed it down along with the check before I could get out that I would like Tabasco to go with my meal. She said the check was there for when I was ready and to not hurry, but it was a very smart ass type of "no hurry". This was before I ever took a bite. And when she came back with my Tabasco I started to say is this is over hard, but she was too busy to answer my question. As you can see from the picture of the egg's they were not over hard, but over easy. I went to the front of the store to pay, leaving the two egg's and the sausage there with a single bit taken from the sausage which was not good either. When I got to the front I found out that the manager was Lacy. I did find out that it wasn't the same lacy from the other "Store" manager that came up but still it wasn't made right. You can see from the receipt that I paid cash fro the meal. Also two things of note from the bill. Lacy ordered the egg's over medium. On the egg order she ordered an egg and then added one, while 0.50 isn't going to hurt me, it was 2.99 on the menu. She was doing this to pad her tip. This is the exact reason that I haven't been to a Cracker Barrel in years and this morning I thought I would give them a chance. Well me giving them a chance made my breakfast an epic failure. The service was not great, especially for the restaurant not being busy at the time, food came out very slowly and our waitress very rarely checked in and never refilled our drinks. Cracker Barrel was recommended by the hotel receptionist and it wasn't anything spectacular or special. I had asked the receptionist for nearby Southern food and this little joint definitely fit the bill. Cracker Barrel is a southern chain and apparently there aren't too many in the nearby Lexington area. Staff are friendly, polite -- ie even though this place is relatively cheap, the waitstaff don't skimp on their "southern hospitality" -- everyone that works here were so nice! I never had dumplins, and the waiter here even offered me to try some... Free of charge! I was definitely very surprised as this would never happen back at home in California. I ordered the fried catfish with fried okra and my friend had the cheddar broccoli chicken. Both food items were a little dry, but they definitely gave me a glimpse of southern cooking. Kentucky is known for their barbecue, so I perhaps went to the wrong restaurant. I wanted southern food and I definitely got it at a cheap price. Overall the food taste was alright, but it definitely satiated my hunger for the night. The little market out in front was really cute though. They sold random nicknacks, curios, and the sort -- reminded me of a place I used to frequent back in Vacaville, CA. The little market or "country store" definitely had that country feel which was very quaint and refreshing-- a rarity for those coming from California like myself. Overall the restaurant and country store gets 3 stars for the friendly and courteous staff... But if the food was a little less dry and a bit more tasty/flavorful then this joint would get that extra star. Overall, Cracket Barrel gets a solid 3 stars.
