Our 2nd time here. Food is really good. I ordered heuvous rancheros with scrambled eggs and I loved every bite. The verde salsa added the right amount of acid. Went on Labor Day, they were short staffed, with some big parties. Totally expect a bit of a wait. They had three servers and one kitchen staff on appearance, again totally get it. Ordered a couple waters, a Pepsi and two chocolate milks and got our menus. Over the course of the next hour while sitting they we only got glances from the servers while they promptly told everyone else who came in they were short staffed and the kitchen was behind while they took their order. I got the huevos rancheros and my boyfriend ordered 2 eggs, over easy, and some types of bacon (idk im not a meat eater) and biscuits and gravy. Well the problems started once we put in our order. They took sooooo long. The service was almost non-existent and whenever we did talk to our server it was just mediocre. It wasnt very busy in there either so they mustve been understaffed. When they finally did give us our food it tasted good but, they gave me a piece of chicken in mine (as i mentioned not a meat eater) and I also bit into either a lime seed or the top stem part of an avocado. First I have to tell you about the food, it was awesome. We got pancakes and the farmers' skillet, and we added sausage to the farmers' skillet. Hubby and I stopped in here after a visit to downtown. It was around 2pm on a Monday. There were several people dining so we took that as a good sign. Came here based on a recommendation from a local. Seemed like a cute place and was bustling. However, service was terrible. We were ignored completely for 10 minutes after being seated. We got our orders in and waited 30 minutes. Our waitress came back finally to say that our food would be out soon. We waited another 20 minutes and still had no food, obviously misled. We received no further service and decided to leave. We were also on a schedule for the day and could not wait any longer, even if we wanted to. Very disappointing. Finally made it to Lucky Dog Cafe. My grandson took us there for lunch one day. I love that you can get breakfast all day long - I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. They brought me a stock of three big enough to fill a dinner plate so I couldn't eat them all but they were very good. My grandson and granddaughter got the chicken and waffles and she let me taste her chicken. I think the chicken planks may be in my future! LOL!
