We went on a Sunday and decided to have the breakfast buffet. The hostess was super friendly and so was our server who left a carafe of coffee on our table . We both had scrambled eggs, fruit , sausage , biscuits and gravy along with a made to order omelette along with some toast and orange juice . My friend Melissa mans the omelette station and does an awesome job! You should definitely try her omelettes! As for the dining room or if we're going to be fancy I'll use the word ambiance. It's well lit with huge windows that face the street and give you a view of Triangle Park . For the two of us I paid about 42.00 and it was definitely worth it as you can tell from the pictures I pretty much demolished my food before I thought of posting pictures lol. read more

One of the best burgers I've had - The Bigg Blue Burger. The French Fries are off the chart, so exceptional !!! Service to march thanks Chase, very attentive polite young man. I was lucky enough to check this place out twice during my trip and each time, the service was EXCELLENT! I made a special request for a Kentucky Hot Brown, which wasn't on the menu, but one of the managers made it happen and it was DELICIOUS! Unfortunately, I can not leave a good review. We been here at least four times and the food is good, but it's always too cold to enjoy your meal. And it doesn't matter what time you come to the restaurant. I like air conditioning like everyone else but it's way too cold. And when I say its cold, it's COLD. I mentioned this to the front desk and they told me that they receive " a ton of complaints" and that it takes forever for the hotel lobby and restaurant to heat up. read more

I was recently in Lexington for a conference and I needed a quick bite to eat for breakfast. Since the Triangle Grille was located in my hotel (the Hilton Lexington Downtown) I thought I'd give it a shot. I have to say, I was pretty impressed. I got the vegetable frittata with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and swiss cheese. It was really good, well cooked and flavorful as were the hashbrowns and sausage that came with it. It's not the best breakfast I've ever eaten but it was certainly preferable over fast food and a nice choice for a quick breakfast when out of town! read more

I ate supper here with a group a couple of nights ago during a conference I was attending that was being held at the Hilton. We were seated as soon as we arrived and they seemed quite slow (we were eating a little late, but considering that there were two smaller conferences at the hotel, it still seemed slower than I should). The wait staff was off and on with their attentiveness. We went through periods where they were readily available, to periods where we were wondering if they had forgotten about us. The food was generally good. I had the chicken sandwich, which wasn't spicy (even though the menu description indicated that it should be), and it came without the ranch described in the menu (although the server did fix this for me). The cat fish sandwich was a hit at the table with the two folks that had it. Overall, it was quite good and reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. read more

Never before have I felt compelled to write a review of a restaurant in a Hilton Hotel - let alone a FIVE STAR REVIEW!!! But this restaurant, and specifically one particular menu item, has challenged me to step outside my normal Yelp! box. So here goes .... This review is for ANYONE who loves a good sliced beef brisket sandwich. If you're one of those people, you absolutely MUST make a trip to the Triangle Grille for theirs. It is PHENOMENAL. I don't even know where to begin. A perfectly toasted bun with just a hint of buttery goodness ... moist, tender sliced beef brisket cooked to smoky perfection ... sweet and tangy barbecue sauce ... and by far the most creative and wonderfully surprising banana pepper slaw I have ever encountered. TIME OUT! Banana pepper slaw? Say what?!?!?! Yeah, that was my reaction too. First of all, I don't think I've ever had cole slaw on a beef brisket sandwich before - sliced, chopped or any other way. I thought slaw was reserved for pulled pork sandwiches. But there it was anyway, waiting to captivate me - bite after delicious bite. This wasn't some sort of mayonnaise based goop cole slaw. This was tangy with that zing that banana peppers bring. And it was AMAZING! This glorious beast (oh yeah, I forgot to mention, it was a VERY healthy sized sandwich) was served with golden, crispy french fries. Just the right size - not gigantic "steak fries" and not the skinny ones either. Perfectly salted too. Oh, and lest I forget, the dish was also graced by a fantastic kosher dill pickle. Crisp, garlicky, salty goodness. So there you have it Lexington. Whether you're staying at the hotel for business or pleasure, you work downtown, or perhaps you're headed to Rupp for some Wildcat basketball, make a point to stop by the Triangle Grille for this amazing delight. I'm not from around here, so wanted to try something from the menu that I don't normally see at home. The fried green tomato entree looked good to me, but the fried green tomato sandwich looked even better! Oh my goodness! I was not disappointed. I switched out the fries for sweet potato fries and added a side of asparagus tips for a little bit of healthy. Because I've only had fried green tomatoes one other time, and that was at a chain restaurant in Denver, I am far from a connoisseur, but I can say this dish was delish! read more

We went there for Mother's Day and was VERY disappointed. We felt like that we were very misled. The food was ok but it was VERY overpriced and wasn't at all what was indicated on the website. The best part of the whole meal was our waitress, Eleanor and the guy busing the tables. They worked very hard and were pleasant and accommodating. The rest of the meal was just so so. Mark the waiter is awesome attentive and gave us good examples that we tried grilled cheese and onion soup mmmmmm and the brisket sandwich. Shawn the manager a Dr Who fan is just a pleasure. We made a reservation here before a concert at Rupp Arena. We were seated and completely ignored. We had to flag someone down to ask for water and to take our order. We waited about 45 minutes, then got up and left. The place wasn't even full. Various servers and food runners were around and even the hostess was trying to help, but obviously this place is mis-managed and the staff does not know how to provide customer service or perform basic restaurant tasks, much less be able to serve your meal in a reasonable amount of time. We will never go back to Triangle Grille. It's a shame -- great location and if their staff were rockstars, they'd have all kinds of business and tips. read more

This is our go to place for a gameday dinner before enjoying the Cats at Rupp. Mary is a tremendous hostess and Mark greets us with our wine choices (Malbec--usually, and Prosecco) and from there it is a generous dinner. I recommend the Lexington Bibb and Shrimp. Beverly likes the Caesar salad with steak or the hot brown. The BBQ brisket or Big Blue Burger are also good choices. It's a great place to relax and dine before the game. I will admit it is pricer than the usual bar, burger, or pizza joint, but the service and people are great. read more

We (five of us) were in town overnight for a family wedding and stayed at this Hilton. Had breakfast the next morning here and it was fabulous. Food was great. Fresh. Good variety on the breakfast buffet. Very clean. But, what made it the best was the service we received from Sandy and Chef Avis! Sandy, server, was as nice as she could be. Chef Avis has been there over 33 years and you could certainly tell! Her omelets and eggs were perfection, and she was so nice. I would go back just to see both of these terrific women again! I'm from Connecticut and service up here is definitely not like the service we received at the Triangle Grill. So thank you Sandy and Chef Avis for starting our day out right! read more

The staff were very unprepared to meet accommodations and seemed confused and lost. Our waiter at one point brought us someone else's food and after leaving it on our table for a few minutes and being told we didn't order that she then took the plate from our table to the right table as is. I would give no stars. We went here for the first time on a game day, made reservations ahead of time and was expecting the regular menu to order steak and truffle fries. However sadly when we arrived discovered that they had a very limited menu and a buffet due to the game. This was not posted on their website. We got the buffet at $15 a person and it was awful. Had some sort of chicken on ciabatta bread sandwich with sweet potato fries. I took the bread off the top of the sandwich and took off some of the avocado slices that work black and places and certainly past their Prime. The sweet potato fries were inedible, and not crispy at all. The service was absolutely excellent. read more

The Executive Chef knows what he is doing to say the least. The crispy rainbow trout was amazing - cornmeal dusted yet incredibly moist with a hint of lemon and honey. Brilliant! Served with sauteed garlic spinach and prefectly prepared whipped sweet potatoes. The food is fresh with a truly creative flair that is not overdone. Seasonings are subtle yet distinctive. read more
