We had such a great experience at DV8 Kitchen in Lexington! The food was absolutely awesome. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I had the pimento cheese and chicken sandwich (highly recommend!), and my husband ordered the turkey Cobb sandwich, which he loved just as much. Beyond the delicious food, what really makes this place special is the meaning and mission behind it. It's inspiring to support a restaurant that's making a positive impact in the community while serving up such incredible meals. I will be back to try breakfast. Went to brunch here with my girlfriend about a week ago. Both of us decided on a cinnamon roll each, she got the caramel with pecans while I got the classic with cream cheese. Both of these were fantastic, freshly baked and came out to us quickly. We also both decided on an entree. I got the steak tacos, and she got the chicken salad sandwich. Both of these were also delicious. Everything we saw on the menu looked great as well. We absolutely love DV8 kitchen for the amazing cinnamon rolls; the special are always creative and so tasty and the staff is just always so friendly and inspirational. On our recent visit we did note that something is different with the chocolate; we ended up not eating any of our chocolate items because the frosting was off. This is an inspiring, supportive, delicious, friendly and stylish restaurant. We liked the idea of supporting those in recovery as it's a real need and a serious matter. I understand. Everyone we interacted with was on point, friendly and exceptional. We ordered a ton of food and enjoyed every single morsel. The rest we got to go for later! Stephanie took our order with a smile and made sure everything was just perfect. Seth suggested the cinnamon roll since it was my first time! We got cinnamon roll bread pudding which was dense and fantastic! We also got perfect over medium eggs, seasoned tater tots, biscuit and gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs Benedict, three kinds of homemade jam, extra seasoning and a major breath of fresh air! To start DV8 has a cool story involving giving people a second chance with employment and mentoring. But also the food is delicious and they have a nice patio. They have both meals and bakery items. This visit was a solid 4, but this is definitely a great restaurant. My experience at the other location on a prior trip was just such a stand out. We ordered a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg and cheese on brioche), tater tots, a fried green tomato BLT and coffee. It was really good. You order at a counter and they bring out the food. They have a display case with their signature pastries, which has helpful to see and salivate a little. My daughter's breakfast sandwich was good. The egg was not quite fried, as ordered, and it dripped out and we had to do some clean up, but not a big deal. My sandwich was good and nice to try something different. It's just a tad heavy and rich. Tots were well seasoned and cooked nice and crisp. Restaurant was hopping. There is a parking lot, but it was full and I parked just a tad bit further away. Made my first trip to a DV8 Kitchen. I actually parked in the lot just off Midland and walked up. This is an area of new construction and they share the area with other businesses. You enter into a foyer type area and a counter. There were plenty of menus available and they were easy to see. The counter help was friendly and expressed interest in helping us if needed. I can't remember the name of the dish I ordered. It was poached eggs built on top of a biscuit and fried green tomatoes. Then came smoked ham and a hollandaise sauce. It was delicious, filling and rich. My wife ordered a more traditional breakfast including eggs, bacon and sourdough toast. She was so impressed by the sourdough that we got a loaf to go. They have other bakery treats available as well. The meal was finished off by dark roast coffee and iced tea. The interior of DV8 reminds me of industrial chic. It all blends well together. The buns had the texture of croissants They were fantastic. We also had General Tso's tacos, which tasted good, but they were too spicy. Also ordered biscuit and gravy, and bread pudding. The gravy was a little salty. The bread podding was delicious and unique. Love the mission of the business to lift up the community. In sum, we'll be back to try more menu selections. We LOVED this place on our recent trip to Lexington. So good we stopped in once for breakfast and a second time for lunch (and to work remotely for a few hours). The concept and vision behind this place is so cool and inspiring. I really didn't seek it out but it came up on a breakfast search and I'm so glad I got a chance to come in and support the business. This place gives second chances to recovering addicts when other places won't give them a shot. All the staff I encountered were nicer and more friendly/accommodating than staff at 5 star restaurants. It was a pleasure. Oh and the food was OUTSTANDING, which certainly didn't hurt. The eggs Benedict poached egg was one of the best poached eggs I've ever had, no lie. We also had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit which was great. For lunch, we had the baja fish tacos and tots. Tots were awesome and crispy. Fish tacos super tasty. And we also had the eggs benedict, again, because it was so good! It's been awhile since I've been here . But today after running in the fourth of July race I was starving . When we got there three people were in front of us ordering so we didn't have a long wait. I got the orange marmalade chicken tender sandwich on a brioche bun with unsweetened iced tea. I've had this sandwich before and this time around it was as good as I remembered it to be . The marmalade is house made and they use thick pieces of orange in it so good! The brioche bun was soft and buttery as it should be. (I wanted a cinnamon roll but they were all sold out.) My friend got eggs, sausage, tater tots and sourdough toast with orange juice . The tots were golden& crispy (yes I finished the rest of them). She said everything she ate was so good as well. The sourdough toast (again I ate a small piece was really really good!). Everyone who works there is super friendly and honestly they couldn't be any nicer than they are. We decided to sit outside because it was kind of loud inside and it was pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Plus I'm pretty sure I was kind of stinky after having run that race. U like many restaurants you go to nowadays. Ordered the same thing both days. Basil Avo Chicken on Homemade Seven Grain Wheat bread. Super good, but the were out of bread so I asked for a wrap. Charles said they didn't have wraps but could use a corn tortilla. Perfect both ways! Side of fresh fruit. One thing I love beside the freshly baked goods is how fresh the vegetables & fruit are. Nothing has comes out brown like the avo, lettuce is always crispy & bright. My bf always gets the Egg & Ham breakfast. The ham is very similar to Irish bacon which he loves. The sourdough bread is also a must! They sell the loaves for $5-6 & I'd say it's totally worth it along w/ their sweets. We love the Chocolate Croissant.
