Famous wings in Carolina BBQ and Buffalo.
Matthew S.

My family and I met up for lunch this afternoon at this beautiful establishment. The server was kind and welcoming.. she made sure our drinks were filled consistently and was patient with us when my family decided to wait on the dinner menu (2PM) even though we arrived early. We were able to eat breakfast or dinner! I ordered the "famous wings" and was delighted with the ranch as well as the fries. All of the food that was prepared for us was fresh and none of us left unhappy. I will be back! Try the breakfast nachos! Undoubtedly the best "nachos" I've ever had.

I came here for brunch with a friend and got the fried chicken sandwich and it had pimento cheese and bacon and it was very tasty. I wish there were more jalapeños, but I am a big fan of jalapeños. The shrimp sriracha tacos were also quite tasty and nicely fried. The server was great, but it was kind of hard to hear because there's an echo inside and there was a large party sitting next to us

Interior

How fun! We had such an amazing time. We went around 5:30 and they were more busy towards when we left. The interior is more college sports vibes. The food was so great and so were the drinks!! If you like a sweeter kahlua drink get the bamboo bear! It was so cute and comes in an adorable mug!

Fun place!! The interior is cool with indoor seating at tables or at the bar, as well as upstairs and a rooftop! The atmosphere was cool, plus TV's inside to watch sports. We went around 7:30pm on a Friday and the place had open spots. The food is decent - the salmon was good but lots of sauce, the sirloin was moderate, and the BLT was a classic. Overall, nice spot.

Big Bowl of Loaded Fries - poutine style

Pretty solid spot for a pre UK football game meal. Came here with my husband, his brother, and hid brother's wife, who are season ticket holders and very graciously invited us. We thought we'd return the favor by taking them out to eat to a place in Lexington they've been eyeing for a while. I had stared at the menu well before we came, and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. My brother-in-law agreed to split the Chevy Chase Cheesesteak and the Loaded Mac and Cheese. But first, we started with some of the poutine-style fries, which were pretty good. As for the entrees, they were also pretty good. I'm not sure that the cheesesteak warrants the "crowd favorite" trophy next to it on the menu, but it wasn't bad. The mac and cheese was very decadent. The locale is pretty big, going up two stories with an open, sports bar feel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pretty decent spot, glad we checked it out.

Bar Area - Christmas Decor

Bear & the Butcher hosted us for our Book & Sip Club holiday brunch and it was nothing short of amazing! The staff was incredibly accommodating to our needs and did a great job organizing our large group and ensuring everyone's order was accurate and arrived on time! Definitely check out the breakfast cocktails and appetizers - the apple cranberry dip was amazing! And the Christmas decor was so cozy. We can't wait to come back after the holidays and explore the rest of their dinner menu!

After my previous review the general manager was quick to sort the issue after coming back from holiday leave. The other staff that I was interacting with hadn't experienced the issue I had before and did not know how to properly handle it. He was extremely apologetic over the situation and made be feel at ease, which is great because I have loved Bear and the Butcher's food and dining experience in the past. The wings are something I get regularly while there, and I hope to go back now that this has been resolved.

Steak and eggs

We stopped by for lunch around noon on a Saturday and had no trouble getting a table for two. It was pretty busy given it's st pattys weekend and March madness but the service was fast. I think our servers name was Ryn and she was nice and got us our drinks and food quickly. I went for the shrimp tacos and they did not disappoint. Great flavor, the shrimp was perfectly crispy, and just a touch of spice. They're messy to eat so don't get them if you're trying to be cute. Chips and salsa were also good, definitely not your average jar of plain salsa. My boyfriend got the steak and eggs and he enjoyed it. It was cooked perfectly. I'm not sure what the dinner menu looks like but I'd definitely stop by to try it. It looked like they had some good food and drink specials for st patty's day.

This visit marked our third time at OBC Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint. This time we experimented with timing and booked an early reservation at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. We crossed over into the dinner menu and discovered something wonderful: the service and ambiance were even better than the busier evening hours after 6 pm. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every dish and cocktail option was explained thoughtfully, which I appreciate, especially because I enjoy cocktails that come with a bit of theater. When drinks are presented with care, described well, and executed beautifully, the experience becomes part performance, part craft. Here, they delivered perfectly. The food, as always, was superb. We shared several chef selections including Beef Tallow Fries, Southern Grouper, Bacon in a Glass, and the Cola-Braised Short Ribs. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and confidently executed. Dessert continued the celebration with the Churro Cheesecake, and to our delight we were also gifted the Warm Buttermilk Donuts, which felt like a small act of culinary generosity. In a departure from my usual Manhattan and Old Fashioned flights, I tried a Bloody Mary and The Cure, both excellent and beautifully balanced. At this point I can confidently say OBC Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. The consistency, creativity, and hospitality make every visit memorable. A special thank you to the team who took care of us on Saturday, March 7th, 2026. You elevated an already wonderful experience and made it even better than usual.

Apparently the restaurant has decided to try out a new concept called "Fine Dining: Survivor Edition." The tables sat covered in dirty dishes long enough to qualify as permanent decor, and our food took so long I considered filing a missing persons report. When it finally arrived, it was cold. Not "could use a quick reheat" cold -- I mean "the marinara sauce had the temperature and emotional warmth of an iceberg" cold. The loaded potatoes were overcooked with about three toppings sprinkled on top like they were rationing cheese during wartime. The pizza? Floppy, bland, and somehow both soggy and dry at the same time. Truly impressive. And the chicken parmesan sandwich was just confusing. The bread was actually great, which made it even sadder that the chicken itself was dry and somehow NOT fried. A chicken parmesan sandwich without crispy chicken feels like someone forgot the assignment halfway through. The restaurant may be dog friendly, but after sniffing the leftovers we brought home, even the dogs seemed personally offended. This place used to be one of my favorites, which makes this even more disappointing. Hoping this was just an off night because right now the quality has left the building faster than our server did.

Every bite hits that perfect comfort-food note. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal with friends. Especially on a day that it was 17° and snowing. We went with a group of six and had plenty of space to sit comfortably and enjoy the experience together. The service really stood out as well, very friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. Our server made sure everyone had what they needed, checked in at just the right times, and kept everything running smoothly for a larger group. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get. If you're in Louisville and want satisfying comfort food in a cozy setting, Ricardo's is definitely worth a visit.
