Very nice place. Clean and what better theme! Food just ok. Wife said the chicken salad was good. The fish sandwich was WAY overcooked! The ends of the fish were so cooked it was crunchy clear through. Beading on the fish was also way overcooked, very crunchy with a dark dark color. Again, great theme. Will go back for a second try down the road to far for us for a casual lunch. Recommend it for the place and decor, for food only fair. We will see on next try. read more

Love the food, the decor, and the concept! The Christian bookstore inside is unexpected and cool. It has an outdoor seating area for those great weather days...like today. We visited The Rock Café this past weekend, and it's definitely a nice little spot to grab a snack. The location is a bit odd as it's in an old gas station, and it's also a Christian bookstore, but we didn't let that stop us from stopping by to grab some ice cream. I have heard that The Rock Café also has great food, but I haven't had a chance to try anything other than their ice cream, which I was definitely a fan of! They have a large assortment of flavors and will let you sample anything you'd like, which I enjoyed. I opted for a "Sea Salt Caramel" flavor, while my brother chose "Dinosaur Egg" - which was vanilla with cake pieces, similar to a traditional cake batter flavor. Both were delicious and everything is reasonably priced. read more

Met a friend for breakfast this last weekend and were told of this cafe. We decided to give it a shot, and glad we did. The atmosphere is light and welcoming, and there is contemporary Christian playing over the radio. Its perfect for meeting with one or a small group of friends and just sitting and conversing. The choices on the menu were plentiful and decently priced. Service was quick after the order and the food was prepared perfectly. The only thing preventing getting 5 stars is the building did not hold heat the best. Granted it was a cold and snowy morning, it was on the chilly side. Alright, here it goes. This place is what you would expect if you took a Dairy Queen and smashed it into a Barnes and Noble. The food wasn't spectacular or anything to die for, but it could have been a lot worse. The outside patio mostly stone work that you would find in a Dairy Queen patio but it had the chairs of a bookstore. Well shaded. Inside were books stands between the tables and a separate room were also some books, the selection was small. The biggest problem I have, the lunch special with $9.69. The Big Jonah, fish sandwich side of onion rings and a pop. I however wanted to substitute the root beer float. Rather than giving me a charge for the difference though, the clerk insisted on ringing everything separately which brought my total up to around $14. After checking the menu on what the cost of an ice cream scoop would've costed to place into my root beer, I realized I would only be saving about $2 and decided that I would rather not disrupt the serenity of the atmosphere by pushing the issue. (Which is not my usual response by any means.) The only review I can even think to give this place is, to bottom line it, could have been a lot worse. read more

The rock is ok. It's common quick burgers and sandwich type place. The ice cream is good and old fashioned hard scooped. Their breakfast is pretty good as well. Their coffee not so much. They could really do with a well trained barista. High school kids who drink Starbucks flavored milk tend to over milk, flavor, and sprinkle everything coffee is about balance. If you are looking for something to eat in this area then you can't do much better than The Rock. All of the food is a step up from most diners, and fast food has nothing on this place. If you like real ice cream shakes or scoops then it's just icing on the cake. It's not that one part of a meal is amazing, it's just that every part is thought about. For example, the bread is not just plain cheap buns. I like the BLT (when the bacon is crisp, sometimes it's not), the cheesesteak is good, the fish sandwich is good, potato salad is nice, soups are decent, the ice cream is great. The place is clean and the young staff is pleasant and helpful. The location is convenient and the food doesn't usually take more than 5 minutes. I have been to Paris, KY about 10 times and have not visited any other restaurants here since finding this place. I even plan my trip so I'm hungry when I get there. read more
