Best bakery in Central Kentucky. English Muffins, breads and pastries are the best. Try the babka, you won't regret it.

This is a great place to get a great meal, a cocktail, and leave satisfied. The place is so cool…read more Brick and iron at its best. The charm of old tables with mismatched chairs, even a bench made from an old bed headboard. The staff is great. Quick to answer questions and offer suggestions. The bar is huge. Bottles upon bottles. Then there is the food. Locally sourced and cooked to order. My mom ordered the catfish. It looked delicious and she ate every bite on the plate. My breakfast bowl was absolutely perfect! Potatoes roasted to perfection with awesome hot sausage with eggs cooked to order and covered in the best sausage gravy that I have ever had! Note: I love sausage gravy and have eaten it all over the country. Bravo to the chef! We will be back!

We ate at Local Feed in Georgetown, KY today, and I really wanted to love it. We started with the…read morecornbread with sorghum butter, and for entrees we got the vegetable plates so we could sample a little bit of everything. I had high hopes going in, and they were completely dashed. Let's start with what actually worked, because there were a few bright spots. The water was great. Our server was attentive and genuinely kind. The music and overall ambiance were lovely; it's clear a lot of thought went into the atmosphere. Unfortunately, that's where the good stuff ends. The cornbread was the first sign something was off. It was sour, like someone accidentally dumped vinegar into the batter, and it was thin, barely half an inch. The sorghum butter didn't taste anything like sorghum, and the quality was so poor I'd genuinely guess it was margarine. My partner ordered the hush puppies, which had clearly sat in the fryer too long; they were right on the edge of burnt. The mashed potatoes are marketed as "whipped," but what arrived was lumpy, skins and all. To be fair, the flavor itself wasn't bad. The mac and cheese was actually a highlight, smoky, well balanced, with a nice consistency. I'd recommend that one without hesitation. My farmers salad, though, was a mess: they dress it in house and way overdo it, plus they inexplicably loaded it with pepper. The cucumbers had a strange, off flavor that made them inedible. And then there were the greens, the biggest letdown of the whole meal. Sweet greens. Who serves sweet greens? It genuinely felt like the vinegar meant for the greens ended up in the cornbread instead, like the whole kitchen got its recipes crossed. I hate saying this part, but I have to be honest: the flies were unbearable. I spent more time swatting them away from my plate than actually enjoying my food, which is a hard thing to get past at any restaurant. Local Feed has real potential. The setting, the service, and the concept are all there. But the kitchen needs to seriously reassess these recipes and bring in someone who understands how to execute real Southern, farm-to-table cooking. I wanted this to be a great meal, and instead it was one disappointment after another.
