Local bakeries are the best! I've purchased from this bakery several times but just realized I've never written a review. I've ordered sheet cakes, royal iced cookies, cupcakes, donuts, and today tried the cronut. This is not a daily item so I recommend following them on social media to see when these are available. 10/10 the best donut type item I've eaten. I chose the traditional cinnamon, but iced flavors are also available including vanilla and blueberry (likely others). Restaurant is clean with plenty of space to sit and eat if you choose. Drive thru is also convenient. 10/10 on friendly customer service!

Best by far I've Ever tasted, I drove from Lexington just to try them! I had some white cake with pink frosting. Which was heavenly! This place is Exceptional! I'm wondering why didn't anyone tell me sooner! Lol

I traveled to Poppy's Bakery to give it a shot one weekend and I barely saw that the place was open, as I had to look for the open sign. When I got inside, there was a nice cashier who took my order and gave me 4 donuts: a blueberry cake, old fashioned, caramel glazed long john, & a regular yeast. One thing I should warn people from the donuts I tried is that the donuts I had were a bit greasy, so it might mess with your stomach if you eat enough. The old fashioned tasted like a Danish butter cookie, which is my favorite kind of old fashioned donut. The blueberry cake was more greasy than the others, so I didn't finish it. The caramel long john was good, the cream trying to break out of the bottom of the donut. The yeast was a generic good yeast donut. Overall, it was a decent place to try out!

Fantastic doughnuts, great selection, decent coffee. Great parking. Mostly take-out, only one table inside. Get there if you can!

Our first visit here started off great. We were warmly greeted and we sat in the main dining room…read more The place has a really great casual vibe and a comfortable feel to it. Our coffees took a bit to show up but all were pleased with what they got. Food came out relatively quickly and Zoey got a scone which she loved, nicely warmed and delish. Teresa got the Brie, lettuce and tomato sandwich and she loved that too. I was less fortunate as my breakfast bowl arrived cold. The potatoes were tasty and the whole bowl presented well, but it was stone cold. When I mentioned this to folks at the desk they said 'thank you.' I took a Star. We ordered some of their bread pudding and a slice of carrot cake to go. The bourbon bread pudding was fabulous and the carrot cake was very good, but clearly had been left out as it was dry, not the moist goodness you'd expect. All said a mediocre first experience so we'll likely give them another try at some point.

I recommend Sage. My wife and I discovered it by accident as we were leaving a Monarch butterfly…read morerelease at the butterfly garden at the adjoining Wilson Nurseries. We sat outside surrounded by an almost garden atmosphere enjoying impressive cafe food served by an incredibly attentive staff. It made for a great fall Sunday afternoon. The menu features well-made sandwiches, salads, soups, the best veggie burger I've had in a while, and imaginative sides. I was surprised that café had a sophisticated drink menu. We didn't try it, but I'm noting it here so that others who think it is just a little café attached to a nursery will know that wine and mixed drinks are available. I often drive to the Gorge and have been back-and-forth to the University of Kentucky twice within the last month. This is going to become a place I will work into my itinerary.
