Generally stop by here for good donuts whenever I head out of town. This time got 2 donuts: cream cheese blueberry jelly donut and I forget the other one. The service has always been good. Nice to be in a gas station so can get coffee with it. BP also has lots of the Dads Favorites cheese spread so gove BP props for that. Biggest downside is getting in and out of BP is hard with the median on the road. But nice to have this donut stop, it's usually too hard to resist the temptation. read more

There is a hidden gem in Versailles. It is located inside a BP gas station. If somebody didn't tell you, you wouldn't know. Doughdaddy's has some of THE very best donuts anywhere! They have a jewelry case filled with a wide variety of delicious yeast and cake donuts. One favourite is the cream cheese iced sour cream donut. Our granddaughter loves both the raspberry filled glazed and the blueberry cake donut. My brother-in-law loves this place so much he will drive 30 minutes out of his way to get his Doughdaddy fix. If you fill up with gas you get a free glazed donut. But once you see all the options you won't be able to leave without trying a few more. This store has beer cheese, sandwiches, homemade candy and candles for sale as well. They also always have day old donuts marked down on a table for sale. They sell donuts from opening to close and the staff have always been friendly and provide great customer service. If you are ever travel to Lexington to see the horses or visit family, be sure and stop in for a donut. You won't be sorry. read more

I had these today for the first time ever, as a colleague brought them for a morning meeting. Non descriptive unbranded box led me to believe these might be mediocre... especially when the lid was lifted and I saw not-so-round, almost oval shaped donuts But oh boy! Was I in for a surprise! These were delicious! From the aroma to the taste to the texture... pure heaven! They were fresh n yummy.. though the sweetness could've been a little less in the icing.. my mouth was toooo sweet afterwards! So my colleague asked for their 'main dozen'... which includes cherry filling, chocolate, glazed, red velvet and something with bacon on it! Anyway, lots of variety to choose from. Doughdaddy's was written up in a national article of best donut places. It also happened to be written up in the brief time I was planning my current vacation, such that I discovered it would be on my route. And so I found myself eating gas station donuts for probably the only time in my life. No, that's a lie. This is a donut shop that happens to be located in a gas station. They're difficult to find but worth the effort. These donuts are super light and fluffy. I didn't get the "fluffy donut" but I wonder just how fluffier they can get. The cream cheese frosting is wonderul - get a few of those. The buttermilk tasted of buttermilk. The filled donuts are great and the devil's food does taste like devil's food - not too dark, a little sweet like cake. I wish I had the stomach for a full dozen so I could have tried some others like the sour cream or the maple bacon (came recommended). Go there and tell me. read more

There is something to be said about the genius that put together coffee and doughnuts. And some other genius decided to lump together gas stations that serve coffee and doughnuts. Doughdaddy's is the perfect embodiment of that thought. I've had their maple bacon, apple cider, and devil's food cake. All are super delicious, but if you get them fresh or early AF in the morning, yesss. So good. Just don't do an "oops" like me and go with summer hours (5am - 11pm) during the winter (hours are 6am - 10pm). I do want to say in this updated review that I still do like Doughdaddy's Doughnuts, but this is a review of my donut experience from the last time I went. I took my sister to Doughdaddy's to get some donuts. We got a blueberry cake, a red velvet cake, and a maple glazed cream filled long john to share. The cake donuts we got were hard as a rock and I didn't bother wasting my calories on them, which is sad because usually their donuts are better than that, and I didn't get the day old donuts like my last visit. The long john was soft and the cream was delicious, so at least my old reliable was still good. Still, after my last visit, I will be hesitant to get another cake donut from them again. I do like DDs, but I'm going to have to stick with their yeasts from now on. read more

Got to tell you my mom has raved for years about this place. Every time she comes in from Nashville she stops by before she gets to my house. NEVER once has a single crumb made it to my house. My father has also raved but of course he didn't save me a doughnut either. There is a reason why he stays married to my mom. Well, on the way home from mom's i stopped by to fill up. The first time I was waiting to pick out my donuts and the lady behind the counter tried to skip over me. This is no big deal since people are looking at choices. Don't let the fact that this doughnut shop is attached to a BP gas station fool you-- it's an independently owned and operated shop that's been a Versailles tradition for ages. The doughnuts are handmade and fried up eight times a day (5, 8, 11, and 2 am AND pm...) which, in the world of doughnuts, makes an enormous difference in terms of tastiness. They also have a huge variety of donuts, long johns, etc, etc. I have to give the Doughdaddy's folks props for going local-- their coffee is from Lexington Tea and Coffee, and they have their own blend too. They sell locally made Valentine's Ice Cream, hand scooped or by the pint, to go. There's an entire aisle of Kentucky proud stuff, jams, jellies, Weisenberger Mills products, etc, and a cold case of Kenny's Cheeses. I'm not a huge doughnut person, but even I could not resist a cup of coffee and a Doughdaddy's doughnut. They're very fresh and not overly heavy or greasy. No trip to Keeneland Race Course is complete without stopping here for donuts, no matter the time of day. Large display cases show off a vast variety of delicious choices. Located in a newer gas station, there is still a bit of old country charm to the vibe-- they sell Candleberry candles, one of my fave brands. Everything here is quality. I truly love the bacon-maple donut, I really think I could eat about a dozen of them if no one would find out and I wouldn't get fat. They are so good, they are practically juicy, they will melt in your mouth and stick to the napkin and your fingers. Plentiful little chunks of bacon are stuck to maple sugar frosting, smeared onto a classic plain donut...the fluffy kind. The best. Free donut with fuel purchase is a plus. read more

The doughnuts were amazing! Wish we would've bought more. We bought a few different kinds so we could try them and wouldn't get sick from a sugar high! They were all delicious! The glazed twists with chocolate icing were lighter than traditional doughnuts which we love! But my favorite was the chocolate iced long john with cream filling.
