I have been to Franks before. I don't live in Georgetown but do go there from time to time I pull up to the speaker, and wait. And wait and wait. That's fine. Maybe the speaker is out. I pull to the window. A woman come to the window. Doesn't open it looked at me for at least a minute walked away. Goes to get somebody else and she comes with a woman and they look at me for 30 more seconds. Never open the window just looking at me then both of them go sit down across the whole store. Never opening never telling me what's going on. Just continuing to look at me. I'm there to buy donuts. The open sign was on and it was 10:30 in the morning. I like Frank donuts and they are delicious and usually give good service. What happened today???? read more

The donuts were really good. The location and parking is convenient. They do not offer a military discount unless you buy a dozen donuts, which is a pretty weird policy. Nonetheless I recommend them, but can't give them 5 stars. read more

3.5 I clearly need to eat less donuts, because I'm not easily impressed. I think these were perfectly fine donuts, but nothing special. This place was hopping on a Saturday morning with people getting donuts to go or drive through. There isn't any atmosphere, so no real reason to dine in. We did anyways, because we are on vacation without any plan. By 10:30, I think they were already out of special donuts, whatever those may be. We ordered 4 donuts between me and my 7 year old to try a variety. They were all less than $3. Whoa, that's cheap. Purple glazed with sprinkles -4/5. My 7 year old's favorite, but I couldn't tell if it was flavored or just colored. Original - 4/5, well executed, basic donut. Not as good as a warm Krispy Kreme Chocolate glazed -3/5, fine, nothing special Chocolate cake - 2/5, not a fan. Tasted like a blueberry munchkin from Dunkin Donuts. Donut holes -3/5, fine, nothing special, inconsistent size Unfortunately, they didn't have any warm donuts (I asked). They put our donuts in a bag without asking if we were eating in, so we had to spread out napkins. They do have red plastic baskets. Someone came in and asked a few donut questions. The workers didn't seem to know the answers and he left frustrated without ordering any. In a nutshell, this place is very low frill, cheap and alright. read more

Frank's Donuts is awesome! I've wanted to visit for a while, but I'm not in Georgetown frequently, so this past weekend when I finally got my chance I jumped on it! My cousin and I visited using the drive-thru, so I would definitely like to return in the future to walk inside and see the doughnut options prior to ordering. The quality of the pastries (we opted for doughnut holes, a cinnamon roll, and an apple fritter) is excellent! Based on that alone my rating would definitely be five stars, no question. The reason I dropped a star is because using the drive-thru wasn't a great experience. I know doughnut shops sell out of items quickly, that's understandable, but the first two items I tried to order were sold out (fine) and on my third attempt to select an item I was informed that a special pre-order was required (for conchas). I just thought that was strange, and the fact that it's not noted on the menu, but rather the item is listed normally with all of the other pastries, doesn't make a lot of sense. Overall, I would still definitely recommend Frank's though, because it's super tasty! I will definitely be returning to check out some of their other offerings! read more

You can NEVER go wrong with an old fashioned cake donut. We were only in Kentucky the weekend and I'm used to having something to dunk in my coffee. In Philly it's usually only a Dunkin around but this gem was literally at the end of my daughter's block. It's a quaint little shop welcoming to all members of the family. The have a wide variety of donuts, eclairs, bear claws and long John's! They had more options but those really tickled my fancy. I grabbed my all time fave, a sour cream cake donut (I actually snagged 2 lol) I got to see bouncing babies, the little ones could play freely and the eyes and smiles were inviting. The prices were very reasonable and they coffee was pretty cheap as well. So if you're every in or near Georgetown, Kentucky, and want a real donut; drop in and say hi for me! read more

I happened to stop in one day to get donuts for our clinic staff and was very happily surprised. Best donuts in the central Kentucky region!

Can we talk, for a minute about the heavenly confections known as Frank's Donuts. We had heard tales of these legendary confections but felt a loyalty to the Lexington Legend Donuts (who shall not be named) until recently. On a chilly fall morning, we headed to a friend's house (who lives in Georgetown) ... they said "stop and grab Frank's on the way!" Because once you've had Frank's you can't ever eat store donuts again. Let's just be honest. We had no idea that this fateful 5 am trip would alter the course of our donut eating days. We arrived to a small line and were greeted at what is most definitely a family owned business (two thumbs up already) and the girls working all run a million miles a minute. I don't have a clue how they begin to keep orders straight when it gets to be 9 am and becomes the Soup Nazi of donuts! But I digress. Warm, steaming apple fritters, cinnamon buns bigger than you hands that are every bit the illegitimate love child of a donut and cinnamon roll, raspberry filled, bear claws, muffins, oh and the signature Frank's glazed. Seriously we died a few times between Frank's and our friends' house. The noises that emanated from our beings ... lets just say I am glad we were alone in our car! And all for less than the cost of a regular glazed dozen at our Lexington Legend?! Literally after paying the legendary prices at our favorite Lexington donut shop I was stunned to receive a $10 total! Slap me .. I must be dreaming. When Frank's opens in Lex we are doomed. Very limited selection of fresh donuts. Maybe you have to go early in the morning to get the best selection but I would think they would continue making them while people were buying them. We took them home and the donuts were fine but I would not recommend going here mid morning or after. read more

After having tried the Frank's Donuts that was in Winchester, I decided to check to see if the Frank's Donuts in Georgetown was any different. When I approached the place, I noticed that they had taken over an old Pizza Hut building and converted it into a donut shop. The layout was basically the same, with random tables and a cooler with random beverages to purchase. One thing I will say is that when I entered the place, none of the people behind the counter smiled, which felt off. My friend and I had gotten four donuts, a blueberry donut, a red glazed donut, and creamed filled donut, and a long twisted donut. The donut I enjoyed was the twisted donut as it was just a regular glazed. The cream filled donut tasted more like a fluffy filling than it's sister location in Winchester, but still had a hint of it tasting like cool whip. The blueberry donut really didn't have a strong blueberry taste to it. Finally, the red glazed donut didn't have any special flavoring whatsoever, and just felt like an unnecessary donut. If they insist on having these specialty colored donuts, they should have a flavor attached to them to make them more appealing. Still, with the four donuts, a coffee and a milk, it was under $6, which isn't bad. But, I have had a few friends tell me how great Frank's in Georgetown was, but I feel like it wasn't as good as it was hyped up to be, but they are still decent donuts. read more

I've never been here before. But I've eaten a lot of their donuts. Oh man. Best donuts I've ever had. This might be what will help me gain weight. Not too light or heavy with the perfect amount of glaze. Fresh out of the oven in the morning? Sooo warm and delicious! It's a bit of joy in a small brown paper bag. This is an awesome, yummy, friendly small town donut shop. It's a family run small business, it's hectic inside during the morning donut rush, it's a tad cluttered in there, but definitely feels like a breath of fresh air in a world filled with franchises, chains, and slick big-budget restaurants. The donuts themselves are tasty, fresh, and far superior to anything I've ever had at a chain donut place or bought in a supermarket. I heartily recommend them. read more

I love doughnuts I mean I really love doughnuts! Franks has the old school glazed that are big airy and sweet and often warm when you get them! Usually a line inside and out in the drive thru every morning but it goes quick. This place is a very good place in town to get donuts, pricing is good, they have a $3 minimum on credit card purchases. But in a pinch you can't donut holes for like a dime to meet that minimum. I am a fan of powdered donuts, but they have yet to ever have them when I arrive in the morning after 9 am. But they serve up Coffee, and the staff if very professional. I believe family owned. Bear Claw and Apple Fritter were delightful, cinnamon roll was good, cream filled Bismarck and creme filled long john were disappointing . The filling was not a sweet butter cream frosting but a light whipped filling, Reminiscent of Cool Whip. I personally want sinfully sweet flavorful donuts if I'm going to be indulging. Frank's fabulous donuts are, I'm told, well known in Georgetown. They're a perfect donut texture. I love their jelly donuts, a childhood favorite -- the peach filled is outstanding. We stopped here for a quick breakfast while on vacation. The donuts weren't warm, but they were still very tasty. The staff was friendly and we were able to sit and enjoy our donuts and coffee. They had a small dining area with two seat tables and it was easy to just have a seat. The floor was very slick while we were there and the chairs kept sliding around. Frank's Donut's is probably the best donut in the area. I used to frequent the Winchester, KY store and thought I'd give the Georgetown store a go. We were coming back from Louisville and stopped in to pick up their delicious maple frosted donuts. You cannot imagine my disappointment when I arrived to be told there were none. I asked if they could make a few and they could not. There really wasn't a wide variety left (it was later in the morning) so I left with nothing. I don't know if I was more put out over detouring from our trip home to get the donuts or the fact they had none and couldn't improvise. Or maybe it was the "don't care" attitude of the cashier. At any rate, I'll drive FURTHER out of my way to Winchester, and will call ahead next time. The people there are much nicer. read more
