Its chocolate/espresso mouse and vanilla, but the cake was dry and I couldn't taste any espresso or coffee flavor at all. Not the bitter chocolate notes of coffee. The many people are there to help but its a little chaotic ordering. I also think it would be helpful if they added signs or names for the individual cake slices, so customers know what they're choosing without having to ask. Overall, the experience didn't quite meet my expectations. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future, but this visit missed the mark for me.

I would rave about them and even take them to Louisville for my son and his wife to enjoy. But now, more often than not, I get exactly what I received this morning. Stale tasting, old glazed doughnuts. A whole box full (2dozen). I woke up extra early and dropped in this morning to get glazed doughnuts for my office. When I got to work and they opened the box..... Just sad. I should have looked in the box at the bakery but it wouldn't have really made a difference, I am not a person to make a scene or cause any kind of ruckus. I googled reviews to see if any one else has consistently experienced this, which led me to leave this review. I am just so very frustrated. Call the store...tell the staff... for what? As long as people line up and they sell out, what difference does it make for one complaint? Not to mention they're not very welcoming when you go in to purchase. Not mean at all, they just seem bothered. I know what a good doughnut they can make and to spend $30 for old doughnuts just makes me sad. Why do this to people trying to patronize your business? I'm afraid that I have taken my last trip to Spaldings doughnuts. No excuse for old, dry, cold doughnuts at 7AM. Dry, embarrassing and a complete waste of money.

My friend absolutely loved it and I had a small piece of it and again it was buttery and flaky as it should be. And as big as it was we both felt 6.50 was a reasonable price. The opera Cake was chocolatey and had a hint of coffee flavoring in it the filling was light and fluffy. Overall it was really good!
