Only open a few hours a day, but I finally made it in! Looks just like a hometown diner. Very busy for 30 minutes before closing. Service was quick and attentive. Plenty of choices on the menu. The fried bologna sandwich left much to be desired. It was good, I wish it had been thick sliced bologna, for sure. Fries were great! Food is good for a small town diner. They were out of biscuits and gravy, which made me sad.

Small country town w/ country cooking, excellent service & home style cooking. Daily specials & today everyone ordered it: Tenderloin, mashed potatoes & green beans. It looked & smelled like mama's homecooking. Ordered the Country Ham & Eggs, Grilled Chicken Sandwich w/ 3 sides; cottage cheese, sliced tomatoes & macaroni salad. Absolutely delicious Mac salad! Everything was! Especially the service. Never a half full coffee cup. From Vegas, I was referred by friends so we took the drive & I highly recommend this breakfast/lunch spot that stays open until 2pm

Love country cooking then this is your spot on the square. Breakfast BLT and a side of butterscotch pie. Biscuits and gravy is filling and had generous pieces of sausage in it. Hot fresh coffee with quick refills and relatively quick services on a busy Friday morning where everyone seemed to know everyone but us. Love to find these gems and eat eat eat some good cooking.

The charm of old tables with mismatched chairs, even a bench made from an old bed headboard. The staff is great. Quick to answer questions and offer suggestions. The bar is huge. Bottles upon bottles. Then there is the food. Locally sourced and cooked to order. My mom ordered the catfish. It looked delicious and she ate every bite on the plate. My breakfast bowl was absolutely perfect! Potatoes roasted to perfection with awesome hot sausage with eggs cooked to order and covered in the best sausage gravy that I have ever had! Note: I love sausage gravy and have eaten it all over the country. Bravo to the chef! We will be back!

The cornbread was stunning, love how it is served in the skillet. The sides of crispy brussel sprouts ( a10+), whipped potatoes, mac n cheese, and field salad were wonderful. As for the fried chicken, it's wonderful, crispy and not over seasoned, allowing the chicken to shine. The only downside, and this bothered me enough that I actually emailed the restaurant. They now offer mocktails - one sounded extremely refreshing, Blueberry Spritz, so I ordered. It was very refreshing. The problem arose when I went to pay the bill and discovered I had been charged for the alcoholic Blueberry Spritz, when I asked the waiter, they apologized as they forgot it was now offered as a mocktail. The mocktail and cocktail have the same name, so.... Had I been a recovering alcoholic, or had a medical condition that prevented me from drinking, this could of been bad. When emailing the restaurant I suggested they change the names so a mocktail could not be confused for a cocktail. I had pointed to the mocktail, even commenting on it sounding great as a non alcoholic option, when ordering. If you want a mocktail, confirm when given to you, it is a mocktail... by the way, my cocktail did not taste alcoholic...

Rodney's is a genteel bar/eatery in a restored house with an upmarket seafood & steak menu, plus outdoor seating. For our opening course, we tried the Sea Divers Scallops. These were tandoori-rubbed and served with a sweet Thai chili sauce. The scallops had a good sear and a slight crunch, with the tandoori rub offering a mild, earthy kick and a hint of chili powder flavor. The scallop was light and melted in your mouth. The Thai chili sauce added a sweet heat combo that complemented the scallops perfectly. We then shared the Lobster Bisque, which our server recommended. The bisque was very creamy, with a slightly thicker, velvety texture than typical bisques. It was so creamy that it almost tasted like it had cheese in it, which it did not. It had a salty, slightly paprika-spiced flavor, while the sherry added a slight nutty note. This was an excellent dish and worth the drive itself. For my main course, I ordered the Lamb Chops. They were char-grilled with roasted garlic mint demi-glace and the Potato de jur, which is smoked Gouda au gratin. My lamb was spot-on medium-rare; however, the char was a little hard and bitter, especially on the edges. This was present in most bites. The mint sauce added a touch of sweetness and depth to the meat's flavor. The potatoes were cooked through and offered a slight chew. The Gouda was creamy and nutty, pairing well with the potatoes, though it needed a bit more seasoning. My wife chose the Filet for her main course. She ordered it medium rare with Weisenberger white cheddar grits and green peppercorn cream sauce. Her grits were cooked well and not overdone; the cheddar was only topped on the dish and not melted into it, but it did offer a sharp bite. We both found them to be bland and in need of seasoning. The peppercorn sauce was creamy, with the onions adding texture, crunch, and a slight sweetness, while the peppercorns popped with flavor and mild heat. The steak was seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare; it melted in your mouth. However, the hard char on the edges added a heavy, bitter flavor to most bites. Rodney's menu features appetizers, soups, salads, prime beef selections, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. They offer a full bar with beer and soda selections. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will offer suggestions and advice. The Fat Man says that Rodney's on Broadway is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.
