Lil'a is a charming little diner tucked inside an antique shop, which gives it a cozy and unique atmosphere. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, and our server in particular was incredibly sweet and very thorough when taking our order. The food itself was decent... my scrambled eggs were okay, but the potato salad leaned a bit tart for my taste, and the portions overall were on the smaller side. I wouldn't recommend the "pineapple upside down pie"... it was a regular boxed cake and pineapple from a can.. very underwhelming experience. Still, for a small-town café, it has a certain charm and clearly puts effort into creating a pleasant experience. I did pick up their bourbon blend coffee and that was good. I have to give Lils in Paris a shout-out for their creative dessert table at the Stone Farm event A very nice and tasty selection to choose from, or one of each.The cheesecake in little jars with choice of fruit was a highlight of the offerings. I love stumbling in a local mom and pop cafe. So authentic, so real, and the food is always good and inexpensive. I had the club sandwich which I thought was wonderful. No fancy name for the bread or the ham just a traditional club sandwich which really hit the spot. Prices are great selection is good and although I was very tempted for the peach pie dessert, I was just too full to do it. read more

Until my first visit to Lils, I had never experienced Tomato Pie.  Now that I have, I regret not have encountered this amazing dish sooner! Over and above the Tomato Pie, I've visited her a couple of times now, and everything I've tried thus far has been excellent.  Service is first tier as well :-) Tip: Lils offers daily lunch specials, and the large building the venue is in makes this place relatively low noise. read more

I just love downtown old school counters! I'm sad my kids mights never know the fun of sitting at the counter getting a milkshake or sundae made fresh right in front of you. Then there's Li'ls! Beautiful classic counter diner coffee shop! So cool to see them keeping this connection to the past going so, so great in 2020! Although the counter stools were marked for the current social distancing we're doin' but the charm was ALL there. We had brekkie and coffee. The place was hopping and the staff was working hard and fast. The food was fresh and tasty! The coffee was yum! They do lunch late afternoon dining too so we'll be back. We loved it all. Oh and take some time to do some shopping at the attached antique store. The owner was warm and charming too and we couldn't leave without taking some stuff with us! Simple American fare properly prepared with great pleasant service. The food is plain but good and the desserts are delicious and homemade.

Let me say that Paris is really changing from what I remember. It was probably 3 years since I met family to have a bite and just talk and visit. Last time it was snowing and we sat about 3 hrs and had such a wonderful time. Again, as last time we closed the shop down! Next to us were several tables of women playing card games... I did take a picture of the mens bathroom because the bench was ummmm unusual. I had the ever so delectable chicken salad, one of my aunts had the red pepper soup and it smelled so good... may have to go back and try. We talked so long I don't remember what the other 8 even ordered. It doesn't matter. Whatever the dish it's always a pleasant time. For a treat go back in time when people actually sat around the table and enjoyed each others conversation... yes. There was no TEXTING at the table! Ohh... did I forget to mention the wonderful deserts that had to go home because we sat so long and they closed. What a wonderful place to talk, play games, have a meal, shop.... Lara & her staff were fantastic. Beautifully made pastries, muffins, cookies, quiche & PIES! OMG! Love the antique shop too & the small town, home cooked feeling you get. Ordered two Scotch Eggs w/ wheat toast, filling & yum. Glad you can order them separately. Three different Quiche pies all sounding delish & homemade! We ordered the Country Ham Quiche which melted all together in your mouth cheese on top mmm! Plated lovely & garnished w/ sweet freshly sliced oranges & grapes. Side of Sausage Biscuit. Working again in Paris and I stopped in to get some Coffee at Lil's. This nice little coffee shop shares a building with an antique shop. It has an old lunch counter perfect for Social Distancing. The business has been here for about 9 years. They purchase all of their Roasted Coffee Beans from Marco's which is just up the street. (As an aside you can purchase Marco's Coffee beans for home brewing at Krogers). I purchased a small light roast coffee. It was tasty Marco's fair which is reliably good. I also had some jam cake which I just love. If you have never heard Jam cake that probably means you are under 40 years old. Jam cake in my opinion is a generational thing. My late father in law and I use to get a jam cake and the two of us would eat it over the month of the holidays. Jam Cake last forever. Since my father in law passed in 2014 I seldom get a good jam cake. Nobody left to eat it with and I am definitely not active enough to eat an entire cake by myself. A good jam has a cream colored icing on it. Sometimes it is a thin brittle icing and other times it is a thick and creamy icing. It just depends on the Baker. The one I had at Lil's was the thick and creamy type. Delicious! The perfect accompaniment for a nice cup of coffee. I purchased a Lil's Coffee Mug to go with my collection. It only cost $7, which is not over priced. They also have homemade candies and tshirts for sale. I do not know how a small town like Paris supports so many coffee shops but apparently it works for them. With Covid numbers up please stop by and get some carryout. Pick up a mug as well and when you drink your coffee at your home, work or office know that you are helping support local jobs and getting to enjoy a tasty cup of Joe. read more

We had been on the road since early morning and were pretty hungry when we drove into Paris. We only saw a few white tablecloth restaurants, then spotted Lil's in an old JJ Newberry store. We were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed two different quiches (spring vegetable and ham and vegetable) and two pies (coconut cream and apple). Everything was delicious. What a great find. The owner, Lyra Miller, and her staff could not have been friendlier. If we lived in Paris, we would be regulars. Definitely worth a visit. read more

What a wonderful surprise to stop at Lila Coffee House for a quick luncheon and discover such a hidden gem!!! We were a table of 4 and had 2 Paris BLT sandwiches (with slices of fresh avocado, absolutely perfect), club sandwich, salad, a grilled cheese sandwich and the most delicious slice of homemade coconut pie: 100% pure indulgence! I asked for hot tea and could enjoy drinking from a lovely China teapot and delicate China cup and saucer: just like at my grandmother's house so many years ago. What a gem this place is. Coffee and antiques! The coffee is good. They accommodated my mom's drink request perfectly when we stopped in last fall. I frequent Lils when I am in town during open hours (open until 3:30). You can't go wrong ordering the quiche. Each day the offerings change on the quiche flavors. Many sandwich options too. The desserts are homemade and many people rave about them. Most are too sweet for my palate, but I can appreciate the homemade touch and variety of sweet treat options. read more

My niece ate here when she came for a visit and raves about the tomato pie. So I took my friend who is visiting from Delaware for brunch this morning. We couldn't get the tomato pie because it is not quite season but we had the Tuscan Asiago cheese quiche which was heavenly, the Canadian cheese soup was excellent with chunks of veggies, an everything muffin and coffee cake that were awesome. I met a friend for coffee here this morning. The waitress was friendly. The desserts in the front case looked amazing. I got the coffee cake of the day. It was blueberry - fresh and huge. We thought the service was excellent and personal. We did meet and greet Lil the owner and she was very personal and yet helpful. She was on the job and made sure we were taken care of. We really enjoyed the homemade desserts especially the blueberry coffee cake and the bourbon peanut butter bar--yum yum! The staff was friendly and the setting unique. Stopped here on our way back from a 3 day camping trip. We were hungry and looking for some good coffee. Got seated right away and then sat there for awhile till finally a server came up to us. He took our orders and left, then 3 more servers asked if we had placed an order after that. We had already been waiting for a long time when finally one of the servers told us they were out of the wraps we ordered. So we had to reorder. We should've only been there for a half hr or so but ended up being an hr and a half for 2 sandwiches n 2 coffees.
