This places is open til 3:30 am!!! Being jet lagged when we arrived, this place saved us. It's walking distance from our hotel. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. They have an extensive menu. We got an omelette, ratatouille, chicken pie, and pastel de nata. The food was delicious and satisfying! The staff were quick and kind. They worked together for translations. Highly recommend this place especially late at night

I hope I am not the only one whose brain keeps thinking Gelato and expect ice cream here... This place has been around for decades and gets some mentions in guide books and stuff. We came here to have a coffee with a local friend, and we ordered some pastries at the counter to try out which are all delicious. The indoor area looks really nice though they are not open in the morning, so we sat outside. The waitress checked on us regularly and gladly brought us refills when asked. There were a lot of flies though, which was rather annoying.

This was a great place to get food when we were hungry and still on a slightly weird time schedule from jet lag. The service was friendly enough, and the food was tasty and quick. I got what ended up being a very flavorful piece of roast pork served on toast, with some olive garnish or tapenade. Really had no idea what I was getting but it sounded OK and I ended up really enjoying it.

Diner style, busy late spot filled with locals. Hot sandwiches, plates and small bites are greatly appreciated after a late flight landed us after midnight. Prices go up after 10pm and it gets crowded. It also means the food is always fresh and hot from the griddle. Must try!

On the food alone the fourth star is out of reach, but if you need a decent quick meal, very free of pretension, I recommend this place. I ate late dinner here twice on the days when I had nicer lunches earlier and was beat from sight-seeing. Galeto is a diner and all seating is counter. The counter is easily 100+ chairs, so don't fret about space. The food and menu has not been updated in 50-years. Most of the customers seem happy with this arrangement. Get a prego (steak sandwich) and a glass of wine. Or try the soup which was also old-school but decent. This place also has 4-menus (entrees, sandwiches, drinks, desserts). I stuck to the sandwiches and soups. Looking at the few people who ordered the larger entrees I was not all that impressed. In Lisbon if you want a full proper Portuguese meal this is not the place, however for a sandwich and soup or something light it works.

Gelato is an inherently Brazilian restaurant in Portugal!!! The food options are endless and so is the charm.

Order the cod, it is absolutely delicious. It takes them a little while to prepare it but it is well worth the wait.

This was our first official meal in Lisbon, a reservation for 9:45 pm dinner on a Wednesday, and it was a great introduction to Portuguese food. The street at the entrance was empty and quiet, and there weren't many people inside, presumably because it was late. Service was excellent, they were very nice, told us to take our time despite our late reservation. Pumpkin soup was the appetizer, and it was delicious. Creamy and hearty but somehow not heavy, with some tomato and meaty flavor that went well with the sweet pumpkin. Comes with some seeds and bread that you can dip the soup with. 5/5 Octopus-comes with some green peppers, quinoa, and a tomato paste/puree that gives it a light, slightly sweet, slightly spicy taste that went very well with the octopus. This is a great summer dish. Interestingly the thin end of the octopus was not that crispy, maybe that was the intention, but the entire tentacle taste and texture was pretty homogenized. 4.5/5 Risotto- also has pumpkin, but more savory with cheese and butter, topped with leek and I belive has mushrooms. Not sure how they're getting away with using heavy ingredients coming together to become a light dish, but they're pulling it off perfectly. Price was also very reasonable. We did get asked about tip, which not all restaurants in Lisbon do, but we felt tip was deserving at this establishment.

Best I've ever had and served it in a creative way. Service was attentive and polite and generous. I wanted to eat there every night but as a tourist I simply couldn't repeat. I wanted to return. I hope they succeed they are special.

The food across the board was excellent--every dish we tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and felt thoughtfully put together. You can tell there's real intention behind both the menu and execution. What really elevated the experience, though, was our waiter, Bernardo. He brought incredible energy to the table--full of personality, engaging, and genuinely fun to interact with. At the same time, his service was top-notch: attentive without being overbearing, helpful with recommendations, and clearly passionate about what he does. Great food is one thing, but when you pair it with service like that, it turns into a memorable experience. Highly recommend--and if you get Bernardo, you're in for a great time.

I had read in Yelp that lines could be long, but we arrived early. They have a little red rope at the door where they explain the rules. The interior is kind of eclectic. They have wines at three price points, we got a really nice bottle of red called Pops reserve. For the tapas, we ordered the assorted cheeses, octopus risotto, duck breast with chips (not normally on the menu), and ceviche. All were superb. We started with the duck and ceviche. The duck was braised perfectly and seasoned well, wonderful. Then the ceviche had swordfish and tuna. I am not normally a sword fan, but this was very tasty. Next up were the cheese and risotto. The risotto was incredible, buttery and delicious. The cheese plate had 5 cheeses of different intensity. All were great, particularly the goat ones. It came with a pumpkin jam which I had never had before, but was very good. I definitely recommend this place
