This restaurant looked like a hole in the wall place in a triangular corner. When we entered we were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was inside. It was packed with people, which was a good sign. We enjoyed all our dishes, especially the tiger prawns, octopus, and seafood rice. The sangria was average. The service staff was very friendly and attentive. read more

The restaurant is away from tourist neighbor. But I suspect its target customers are tourists. They play American pop music all night long which is fine with me, but if you are looking for a local experience, this may not what you expected. Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know. read more

I went back and forth between three and four stars, and came to the conclusion I had higher hopes being on vacation and Europe has always had a higher standard for me with food compared to the United States. Inside was classically decorated with many square tables that could be rearranged for groups of 1-2 or larger. We did not need a reservation but it was a Tuesday night at 8pm. Service was friendly but could felt similar to the service you get in many tourist restaurants and the idea of American tipping seems to be taking root. Food portions were hearty and seemed to be a more formal take on Portuguese comfort food (I imagine). The Cod Duque was under seasoned with the Octopus done well and the sweet potato puree was just....there. read more

Restaurante Duque in Lisbon was very good. They actually have two locations; a main addressed and signed location and an overflow location a few doors down. Both spots were full, so a reservation is recommended. We ordered the Octopus and the Steak with Fried Chips. The Octopus was tender and the taste was fantastic. The steak was a little thin but very good. The fresh fried potato chips were excellent. The interior was nicely decorated, tight, and had a homely vibe. Regarding the service, it was excellent. read more

Feel lucky that I was able to return and it remains my favorite restaurant in Lisbon! The interior seems to have gotten an update in decoration since my last visit, and service was very attentive. Highlights of our meal included the starters of fried prawns, braised tuna with sweet potato, and mussels. The sea rice was just as good and packed with seafood as I remembered. All of my dining partners enjoyed this as their introduction to food in Portugal! read more

I had high hopes for Duque, as it got good reviews from several different sources. Maybe they had an off night? The oven roasted octopus was alright. I liked the fried leeks and sweet potato mash that came with it. The vegetable braz with truffled oil was...interesting? Funny, one of the staff came to drop it off and she timidly placed it on the table, said what it was as if she was waiting for us to object to the dish. It did the job of getting a veggie serving into our diet that evening. The sirloin steak was pretty bad: overcooked, dry and tough. We ordered it medium rare and it came out medium. The photo I took actually looks like it would be ok, but looks can be deceiving. The potatoes were good: nice and crispy. Cute ambiance. They have several restaurants down this street. Reservations available online 30 days in advance. read more

I went to this restaurant twice. The first time I went, the food and service were perfect. The second time I'm not sure if it's too busy, but the food was not as good as the first time, so did the service. All in all, the food is good, the service is okay, and the dessert is perfect. read more

I would go back to Lisbon in a heart beat to dine at Duque again! For those who are traveling or visiting Lisbon you must stop in for a meal. This was literally the best meal I ever had! Two words. Octopus Salad! You must get it. It is so fresh, juicy, tender MMMM. Their seafood rice is to die for. Literally if it was my last day on earth I would go back here!! read more

There's no way I would have found this place if it's not because of yelp. It's unassuming and on a small side street but I'm really glad we found it. We had the mussels and octopus salad as appetizer, followed by the grilled sea bass. Everything was seasoned well and tasted fresh. It was a lot of food for 2 people so be sure to go there hungry! We would have gone back again if we had more days in Lisbon but sadly we went there the day before our departure, so until next time. read more

I was there a few days ago. I found this restaurant by watching one youtube influencer. 1) Small restaurant 2) decor is kind of cute. Portugese restaurant style 3) This restaurant suppose you need reservations. I went in early May, still a lot of tourist. I have to wait for 35 minutes, almost 8:45pm, then I got seated, that is ok. 4) Waiter came very fast and food arrive very fast. 5) Nice employees there. 6) I got grilled large tiger pawn and black squid ink pasta. very good 7) grilled seabass, my husband has. Around $15 Euro. Super good 8) also got Ceviche fish 9) got chocolate mousse for dessert. it is so good and I eat here the next day again. It is "that good". read more

My wife and I were in Lisbon for a week and finished a Tuc-Tuc tour on our first day and I found this place on Yelp. It was pretty close to our hotel. I ordered a big beer to start off and we got some olive and hummus appetizer. Really good. Our service was quiet but she was nice. I ordered the full sea bring. Oh, so good. I love a whole fish, and here it was 15 Euro. Lotts of good accouterments on the side too. Pretty small place, so get there early, but they have two other nearby locations I think. Great lunch in Lisbon! read more

A local gem that you need to book at as it only has about 30 covers..... An original delightful non fussy neighbourhood eatery that offers a few dishes cooked well. The clams were so good I had an extra portion for my desert! Sea bass was cooked simply and was very tasty. Lovely staff, reasonable local vinos and a busy cramped but characterful basement that was easy to find behind the railway station but tucked away from many of the tourist aimed eateries. read more

This should be the #1 restaurant in Lisbon right now. The food is so worth it and the price is shockingly inexpensive. We ordered the white fish ceviche, duque's cod & oven roasted octupus. The sauce for the octupus dish was so creamy and sweet potato-ey it's not something you find in a seafood dish but it fits right in! Everything we ordered was a 10/10. If u dont like soury food, the ceviche was sour x2. The restaurant itself was really quaint and small but consisted of 4 other rooms next to each other. We made a reservation for 9:30pm and were seated right away. This place gets packed so make your resy. read more

Hidden away on a side street in the heart of Lisbon, this spot takes up about half the block it's located in. They do take reservations and thankfully they were able to seat us early. They essentially have 4 different spaces they occupy so they check where they have room. We were seated in the "first room" and had a great table to watch all the action. We shared the "fish for 2" after some shareables (goat cheese with jam and croquettes) and it was so delicious. It's not often I eat whole cooked fish (I believe 2 of the fish were Sardines and Sebring) but it was very tasty all around. The third fish was salmon which was a steak cut. We paired it with rosé and it was just such a good meal all around. A great hidden spot if you're looking to have some very tasty seafood. read more

This restaurant was an awesome Yelp find! We ordered the Duck breast and cod fritters/croquettes and both were amazing! This ended up being one of my favorite meals in Lisbon. It is kind of confusing because when you arrive, there are three restaurants that are all named Duque restaurant in a row on the same street. These are all the same restaurant, owned by the same people, and have the same menu so you can choose whichever location has more seats available! read more

Do yourself a favor and go here instead of those huge over-the-top places. This was the best Portuguese food we had and the ambiance and service was amazing. They have a few different spots so depending on availability, you may be down the street from their original location but it's all the same. I had the seafood rice and it was AMAZING! Everybody at the table enjoyed their food as well. My husband had the sea bass which was excellent but a lot of work since it was a whole fish, but it DID slow down his eating. We had the braised tuna to start and that was delicious too. Dessert looked simple (it's cake in a jar), but the strawberry cheesecake one was the best! read more

This place was highly recommended but for food that was just okay and service that was... not great... I'd skip it. We showed up two hours before they closed and they told us the bar and kitchen wanted to leave so we had to order fast, they definitely were rushing us and made us feel unwelcome, even though more people came in after us. Beware, they also charged us for a bottle of wine we did not get and weren't too happy when we said something about it. The seafood rice was the star of the meal, unfortunately everything else was just okay. read more

My husband and I found this intimate place while visiting Lisbon. I made a reservation. We were about 15 minutes late, but fortunately we were still able to get a table. I loved the interesting atmosphere. I ordered the osso bucco which was delicious but also surprisingly tough and chewy. We mentioned it to the server and they were gracious enough to take it off the bill and offer us a yummy layered dessert in a small mason jar. My husband was happy with his dinner. I would definitely recommend. read more

A bit of a walk away from the main drag but o so worth it. With three rooms down the same sidestreet it is likely you will not have to wait. We followed a Yelper here and confirmed by other review sites, this is a fantastic local feeling place, although I suspect about half the people are tourists. The food was outstanding- I had the oven roasted octopus and she had the whole sea bream - both mouth wateringly good. Service as prompt and friendly without being pushy - and the interior is so cool that we felt like we were in an authentic slice of Portugal. read more

Lisbon is known for codfish and other seafood, so I made sure to try a few dishes while I was in town. My dinner at Duque Restaurant was the best meal I had during my stay. The cozy space has tables packed pretty close together, but it didn't bother me at all. The service was welcoming and prompt. I started with codfish croquettes, served with hummus. For the main course, I had grilled seabass with cabbage and potatoes. This dish tasted as excellent as the presentation. I couldn't resist dessert and went for the banana mousse, which was served in a petite mason jar. The check came in a stylish black and gold box that resembled a clutch. That was a nice touch! Highly recommend this place! read more

This was by far by favorite restaurant in Lisbon. It was so good, I visited twice during my trip. It's very small but I managed to show up without a reservation twice and didn't have a problem getting a seat. It's probably because both times I went close to opening so I likely beat the rush. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Even though it's a small location, I didn't feel rushed by the waitstaff either time. The food was excellent. I had the steak the first time and the octopus the second time. My friend and I shared the octopus salad and the ceviche which were both very tasty as well. Everything was so fresh and the portion sizes were great. I also tried the house green wine for the first time and had 2 glasses (that was definitely my limit as it's very strong). No trip to Lisbon is complete without a trip to Restaurante Duque! read more

Amazing authentic food and wine! Perfect small spot in Lisbon right by our place. Service was awesome too!

Last night in Lisbon and they have a window so you can watch the magic in the kitchen! Rustic casual. Pluses 1. Tiger prawns and squid ink pasta - juicy and tender and full of flavor, pasta al dente 2. Gin tonic 3. Shot of port 4. Dessert in glass jar, banana pudding yum yum 5. Helpful service Areas to improve 1. Couldn't help it, but there was a family with a toddler who screamed and cried the entire time and they were seated in the middle of the restaurant 2. Juicy mussels, just too salty for me Highly recommended! I would return to try more if I had more time. I did solo trip and off peak time so no wait. read more

Such a delicious spot in the heart of Lisbon that has a lot of seafood options. We came here wanting to have seafood and heard good things about Duque. We were able to be seated as a table of four immediately right around their opening for dinner. I got the octopus and it was tender and flavorful. I loved the service here too. read more

Best food in Lisbon that I've had! The octopus is so well-cooked and soft, not tough at all. And the sauce that goes with it is delicious. Highly recommend trying it. The grilled fish (bream) was also really good, and I'm definitely planning on trying some of the other fish next time I visit. I wouldn't recommend the clams, which were very small and too salty. Overall, the food was really good. Surprisingly, there wasn't a wait (there's only a couple tables inside), but that might've been due to the sudden rain. read more

Googling for a good place to eat we found Duque. When we made it, it was packed only to have a waiter asked us to follow him to a second location a few doors down. Later we found they even have a third another few doors down. I suppose it's very difficult for a place in Lisbon to have a large (flat) space since it's so hilly in Portugal so given it's popularity it needs to have three separate locations. The seafood rice had quite a lot of seafood, but almost destroyed by the large amount of acid in it. The beef cheeks were tender and well cooked but the amount of garlic in the rice was also over the top. Service was good, and value was decent. read more

This cozy and affordable restaurant in Lisbon is a great spot for a casual meal. The wine is reasonably priced, so it's worth ordering a whole bottle. Be mindful, though--they serve bread at the table, but it's not complimentary. If you eat it, you'll be charged. Also, note that it's cash-only. I tried the prawns with rice, which were decent, though the rice was a bit soggy, not to my taste. I also had the grilled fish with salad--overall, it was fine but nothing particularly memorable. read more
