Prado restaurant is overrated. The ambiance is average, the service is impeccable, the food is okay. Yes it has a Michelin star as for location and the hype that you just have reservations - walked in w no reservations and got seated. Looking at a wall, as it was the only table and the general manager was not polite in fact arrogant - I see she takes pride in her job but doesn't take note of patrons that just want a good meal and enjoy the company. Had the chefs menu (tuna belly was old tasted fishy and had a smell to it) ; the quail egg did not compliment the dish by itself if you're allergic to pork; no accommodations were made if you have allergies - quail egg w marron was bland and no flavor. the mushroom custard was the only thing on the menu worth raving about - however on overall chefs menu - the seasoning was either lacking or it was too much. The textures of the chicken w chicken flakes did not flow - it was too salty - and I ate a lot of bread to balance it out. Sadly I placed water to dilute the flavors of salt. I would not attend again as the general manager was not welcoming and had a chip on her shoulder - food is a hit or miss - some dishes are delicious while others lack seasoning or abundance of - clean place - servers knew their cuisine well and could explain all Ingredients that went into it - decor is okay (clean and looks modern but it's lacking energy for the price you pay- staff was stiff and had no personality ).... I'm happy I got a Chance to try it once. Service -10 Food-5 hit or miss on some dishes Ambiance - 6 Decor - 7 Noise - 4 (acoustics carry very loud in back room - much of white noise) Overall 6 Bathroom cleanliness - 10

Described as celebrating "the best Portugal has to offer, from sea to land," Prado has quickly emerged as one of Lisbon's most talked about Restaurants, and although it lacks Michelin Stars or the refinement of Belcanto both the Food and experience are exceptional. Owned and operated by Chef Antonio Galapito, a man whose connections to local farmers and fishermen allows unfettered "farm to table" ideals to flourish, it is immediately on entry that guests will note high ceilings and lush greenery decorating the former 19th-century factory. Pleasant in terms of service, a lack of pretense emanating from two young women and a small kitchen, menus feature little more than a list of Ingredients based on the notion that "if it's not in season, it's not on the table." Organized top-to-bottom by size, two bites of Sardine atop Lardo Toast with Parsley and a skewered Quail Egg beneath shaved Ham each explosive yet balanced, it was in follow-up that softened Chard shined in Cockles with their Coriander-scented Broth and Fried Bread for texture. Continuing in a seemingly straightforward manner, though nothing about roasted Butternut Squash layered around a Puree of the same with creamy Sauce, Seeds and Flowers tastes "simple," Squid from Azores next found itself ribboned like Fettuccine amidst diced Spuds and Butter with a decidedly porky linger. Difficult decisions in abundance, but a place where solos or large groups will be equally comfortable, savories culminated with Cabbage, Trotters and Whelks before a big scoop of Mushroom Ice Cream doused in Caramel with toothsome Barley adding a nutty, roasted note. Just €64 for eight items, each thought provoking yet delicious, lunch concluded with Brioche soaked in Port and creamy/crunchy Hazelnuts plus a silky veil of Zabaglione that, as a whole, invigorated every part of the palate.

Outstanding food, service and setting at this restaurant that is off the main drag near the Cathedral. Farm to table menu focused on local purveyors is inventive and full of interesting and delicious flavors and textures. Our family of four ate through most of the menu and enjoyed every dish. The squid, Alentejano pork and mushroom ice cream were standouts. Enjoyed an orange wine for the first time as well. The waitress took the care to mark up an English menu for us to denote the items to avoid for the food allergies my son has. Photos of the dishes we ate are attached - as beautiful as it was delicious! May get Michelin recognition soon.. get there before the crowds do!

This was a great find. The dishes are extremely creative. Fusion cuisine for sure. Friday night with reservations still brought a bit of a wait and then we were seated in the back on the left. Our wait staff was impeccable and knowledgeable throughout the evening. The ambiance was hip with guests from everywhere, from Australian to American. The way the ceiling is built amplifies the sound and with music on top of things, it's hard to hear your own conversations at your table. Loved the presentation of the dishes. Three of us had about 3 each as the portions are small. Very exotic ingredients at times that I had to google like Pleurotus (type of mushroom). I'd say most of the dishes were delicious. Loved the desserts as well.

The staff were welcoming to a solo diner, and offered a table by the window overnight the street. The food was delicate, tasty and well executed. I had the pardon pepper, dashi, sesame & lime / beetroot, nectarine vinaigrette, ham & arugula / great amberjack tartare, strawberry, chilli pickle & basil / dolce de leche flan.

This farm-to-table restaurant has a nice atmosphere and offers fresh & local ingredients. However, we left disappointed because the flavors were not properly executed. For instance, what sounded spicy on the menu (sea bream with tomato dashi and jalapeños) tasted pretty bland. And some dishes were completely taken over by a single ingredient--the smoked eel with Portuguese cabbage and parsley tasted like a cabbage salad with little to no hint of eel. I don't think Prado deserves the hype it receives, and we will not come back.

The food was not very good. We got the fried milk and mushroom ice cream options for dessert and they were unpleasant. The one dish that was amazing though was the selection in the photo I uploaded. I can't remember what it was called. The lamb dish was good too! All in all, the service was fantastic, and the white wine that was selected for us was amazing! The menu just needs improvement.

We had a decent experience here at Prado. The food was pretty good and the service was great. Definitely understand why it's always so busy, and I would definitely recommend checking this place out. Found some of the vegetable dishes were a bit bland but the fish and meats were amazing.

Butternut squash dish. The sauce was amazing!

INCREDIBLE! The food here is so good. Everything was farm to table. They only cook the local vegetables and seafood which are in season. Our favorite was the butternut squash dish and the mushroom ice cream. If I go back to Lisboa, I'm making it a point to eat here at least 1-2 times in the next trip! Really amazing food!

Get it!

The white wine, the white asparagus, the tuna tar tar and the bread with the butters. The perfect meal!

Not bad. Some of the dishes are amazing, some less so. Quite expensive for the portions and what it was. Deserts were really delicious.

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

It's rotisserie chicken doused with a spicy hot sauce so what's not to like? I knew it was a Portuguese-originated dish, so I looked for a place famous for it. Here on a Sunday evening, there was quite a queue extending up the cobblestone alley, so I realized this must be the place. Although it was at least thirty people deep, it didn't take more than twenty minutes for Jamie W and me to secure a table upstairs. It was a homestyle dining room set-up that hovered between cozy and crowded depending on the fluctuating volume level. Interestingly all the servers were male, and while ours was the most junior, he consciously followed the behavior of his veteran brethren. There was no question about our main course, the 13,5€ Frango Assado No Espeto (Roast Chicken on the Spit) (Photo 7). It was tender and succulent enough albeit a bit under seasoned, all the more reason to pour a liberal dose of the piri piri sauce (Photo 8). Our sides were simple but shareable, the 3,2€ Batata Fritta (French Fries) (Photo 9) and the 4,3€ Salada Mista (Mixed Salad) (Photo 10). Both were fine, though we really wanted to try their Cream Spinach. They were already out of it in the kitchen. We were quite satisfied nonetheless, and their service pretty much worked like clockwork. Jamie and I agreed we'd definitely come back if the passion for poultry strikes us on a return trip to Lisbon. In the meanwhile, I'll just do a run to Costco, buy a rotisserie chicken, and dream of Portugal. He will talk to you for hours and teach you about food and wine and culture and talk about the history of food and how it came to be in Portugal. I loved it. I learned so much. I aspire, as an American, to learn from and look up to other cultures. I feel very honored to have dined in a restaurant managed by him on our trip to Portugal. I'm going to recommend to our travel coordinator to add this restaurant to the Google map recommendations list because more people need to go to this place - they need more tables, more space, because I'm convinced this is such a hidden gem that should be exposed to the masses to enjoy! We visited several wineries and this restaurant had the best wine - bar none! The fish, a fish I hadn't tried before, was deliciously seasoned, falls apart with the fork, the creamy rice was just divine. I normally will never eat little cherry/grape tomatoes - ever - but the perfect bite of fish, creamy rice, and a tomato was... perfection. The menu is deeply curated; flavors - textures - wines that make sense. You can tell Frederico what you normally like and he 100% knows what wines he has that you will love. The tomato, orange, ham, salad, was absolutely balanced and delicious. I'm so grateful that our first trip to Portugal we got to meet Frederico and dine with these wonderful people who love food and wine as much as us. I'll never forget it as long as I live.
