Oficio is a 2026 bib gourmand restaurant in this Michelin laden city. A "bib" is not quite starred but one that Michelin has nonetheless designated as exceptional in taste yet carrying good value. Oficio is self-described as chic, buzzing, and intimate, balancing casual bistro with sophisticated crowd. On this late (8pm) Friday evening we could vouch for all of the above... and luckily we had reservations as all tables were occupied. The restaurant sits inside a converted convent that was constructed 701 years ago, 1325. It beautifully retains the concrete walls and vaulted ceilings throughout its multiple dining spaces and winding floor plan. Sound levels are, expectedly, on the high end. The only things more elegant than its table settings are the plating presentations of each appetizer and entree. Bread - a typically deeply fresh, chewy, dense, and lightly soured-dough wheat - arrived with fresh butter and fermented carrots. As with every restaurant we visited this week, water is all extra ($) and we ordered sparkling and still ("seltzer" is not a familiar term). For apps we chose pairs of the Horse Mackerel tartare (€5 each) and tempura sardine (€7.50 ea)... and promptly ordered more of the (very thinly battered) fried sardines! For entrees she got the catch of the day (€27) and I got the alentejo pork (€25) - when in Portugal... seafood and porcine! Both were outstanding. Her sea bass was tender and sat in a coriander/garlic emulsion, surrounded by cockles (small clams). The sliced pork tenderloins were seared to the chef's preference (medium) and paired with a chickpea stew. For desert we shared the apricot and white chocolate clafoutis (€8) and opted to try an unfamiliar port - a glass of the 20-year tawny Vallado (€14) from the Douro region outside Porto (where all of the world's port wines herald). Both, again, were excellent. By 10pm, as we were finishing, we noticed that the restaurant was still more than half full - not a typical sight back in the states. Staff was attentive and engaging (not a "normal" aspect to (tipless) European dining and refreshing to experience here). Notwithstanding, there was a bill line to provide for a tip and, based on ample reading prior to our travels, we aligned with the 5-10% recommended contribution when truly merited. read more

If you can't have Jon cake in Barcelona and find yourself in Lisbon, try the basque cake here! Dare I say the best cheesecake in Lisbon! We dined here on Saturday evening - be sure to make a reservation! The food here is good but can you guess the highlight for me - it was the cheesecake!!! I found the pasta and the broccolini dish to be a tad bit salty. The tuna taco was good and the oysters came on a Shiso tempura which was different and refreshing. Service was alright. read more

The meal was great as was the service. Sadly, it was after a 3 hour long lunch and 5 days eating my way through LIsbon so i wasn't able to try more than two dishes. Would absolutely go back. read more

Tried to come here the night before but couldn't get a seat. However we came here at an odd hour for lunch and luckily was able to get a seat. Favourites: tartare, wagyu toast, shrimp and basque cheesecake Worth trying: quail rice High quality food, and great service. Knocked one star because the quail rice was too salty. Glad that we got to try Oficio before we ended our trip read more

Service was excellent, food was just ok. My partner made a reservation here during our trip to Lisbon after reading about it recommended so many times. We decided to be extra adventurous and unfortunately weren't too wowed. We started with the sea vegetable taco and crispy pork crackling, smoked eel, and shrimp. We thought both of these dishes mostly just tasted salty, and weren't particularly impressed with the flavors. Nothing bad per se, just fine. We got the garlic prawns next which were excellent. Our favorite dish of the night. I love the texture of the raw shrimp and thought the flavor was great here. We had a bit of longing looking at everyone with their tartare plates, so we decided to try the veal and marrow tartare. My partner is not a huge raw meat person but I love bone marrow so we had to give it a shot. While I liked this dish, it wasn't my favorite. My partner said he could tell it was a well done dish, it also wasn't his cup of tea. Give me all bone marrow though and I would be raving. The seafood spaghetti with Parmesan and pine nuts was not a love either. The spaghetti tasted too salty and the dish needed the crispy texture and fatty flavor of the pine nuts to be more palatable. Next we got the cuttlefish and cuttlefish. I'm a huge fan of cuttlefish and order anything with squid ink. Again, this one was just fine. Didn't do it for me! Lastly, we got the quail vinegar rice. We were told the flavor is excellent but quite strong. We were definitely warned about the strong flavor, but unfortunately didn't find the dish to be too appealing. After such an adventurous meal, we opted for a tried and true for dessert - the basque cheesecake. This hit the spot! Very creamy and enjoyable, and the added salt on the side to sprinkle on each bite was a lovely touch. While the food overall didn't particularly wow us, the service was truly exceptional. At times the kitchen got backed up and there was not always impeccable timing, but our server seemed to always notice and check in on us. It also felt like the servers were reading our minds! They were very on top of it and it's a very well run ship. We're so glad we stopped in to try while we were visiting, and while it wasn't a huge hit food-wise for us, hopefully we are in the minority! read more

This is a very innovative and creative restaurant. The service was excellent. The interior is modern. I sat next to the window facing the back terrace. My favorite was the marrow tartare. The flavors are very complex for this dish. I got the raw taco was good. It reminded me of the sea. The cod & cod was whatever. I would still recommend to try. It is on the pricier side. read more

Well, now that's a Michelin Star Restaurant worthy going. In Lisbon, I learned, many things are going up and down all the time. Walking up a hill and down a hill ... no exception with food. But this place has it all. Great service, great presentation, great food, great taste, all's great. Would go again. read more

One of currently only 5 Bib Gourmand restaurants in Lisbon, this was one that we had booked a few weeks in advance. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and our reservation was for indoors. Meal ended up about 50-60 euros per person, one of the more expensive ones here. The menu offers a variety of different kinds of foods, but I would describe each dish as a small eat, most of them can be finished in 1-2 bites, including the appetizers as well as the main courses. Most are creative, with some traditional ingredients. And although our servers were nice, it was a bit slow. I had a white wine and a pumpkin cheese whiskey which was an interesting mix but does indeed taste well altogether, for a very reasonable price of about 4 euros. My friend had a lemonade, but for some reason was made as if it didnt have any sugar at all? Had to be re-done. The first appetizer ribeye toast was a good start, with caviar and soft juicy meat contrasted by a crunchy, flavor-absorbing carb. One of my favorites was the veal and marrow tartare, our second appetizer. The marrow was obviously the juiciest tastiest part, and must be eaten together with the veal (which may be a bit more bland if eaten by itself). The entire dish is lathered in oils and spices and makes for a very interesting experience. Garlic prawns were not bad too, I think this is one of the more popular dishes here. The presentation is nice with some leaves of green and some purple flowers. I love that the garlic flavor is strong, and it must've taken forever to get each prawn peeled the way it is with how tiny it is. Pleurotus oyster mushroom with chicken caramel was a miss for me. Some pieces are bigger than others which became a problem in the texture and taste. It's going for a chicken flavor, but some of the smaller pieces were overcooked/burnt and had no moisture, so it tasted like bitter dry charcoal with MSG salt. The thicker juicier pieces did have better taste. Monkfish was also a miss. There's 5 pieces, with a circular piece of liver in the middle, all in a circle of pecan sauce and maybe some basil? The fish is fresh but I don't think this combination is the best that I've had. The pecan sauce is grainy, salty, and thick compared to the flaky light and slightly sweet meat of the monkfish. Felt similar to eating lobster meat with salted peanut butter. Ended well with dessert. Flan was not too sweet, had an alcoholic (bourbon or whiskey?) mix in the sauce that contrasted well with the sweet flan. Biscuit cake also had good mixture of flavors that reminds me of a moist tiramisu. TLDR: Appetizers and desserts were solid, but the main courses could be better. Don't think I would be coming back anytime soon. read more

Outstanding food, service and ambiance. Well priced appetizers, entrees, desserts and wine. Make a reservation.

Unfortunately we had food intoxication. My son And I were both ill with vomiting and diarea on Saturday 28 of February (my birthday) I tried to contact them true what's app and e mail but no response. after that it was not possible to leave a review on "the fork" The menu is very small so for sure that night more people had the same problem. read more

5 stars overall because of a very creative chef as well as an extremely friendly waitress. Most of the dishes wowed us and were extremely good. The only two dishes that we did not like much were the cod tongues (and I don't think that will be surprising to most people) as well and he cod entree. 3 top picks were the veal tartare, the tuna taco/wrap, the leeks. But honestly everything was very good. I would highly recommend read more

Great value! Great flavor. Husband kept asking for white wine and was brought red wine multiple times hehe

We picked Oficio to be our celebratory dinner after a successful showing at a Brazilian Jiujitsu tournament this week and were excited about this place. Ambiance was lively. Noise level was perfect enough where we could talk at a normal tone even with music playing in the background. William our server was extremely friendly and helpful, explained all their dishes, and suggested quantity to order for our party of five. What went wrong was the food. Here's the breakdown: Oysters: they were fresh. The red sauce was good. The green sauce was not. Olives: well, they were just olives Rib eye toast: these were actually good! Sea vegetable taco: were Ok. No big deal Garlic prawns: good but were the tiniest prawns I've ever seen Black pork ham: sliced super thin. Too much on the fatty side Seafood spaghetti: was underwhelming Cuttlefish and cuttlefish: was horrible! Way too salty. We couldn't eat it. Grilled cabbage: terrible. Just looked like a bunch of slop thrown on a plate Codfish in roasted potato foam: horrible. The fish was half cooked and the potato foam it sat on was like baby food from a jar I don't remember what else we ordered but the overall sentiment from the table was everything was pretty much not good. Presentation was sloppy. There was too much going on in the plates. Either too saucy, too salty, bland, or all of the above. It seemed like the chef was trying too hard to be unique, modern, creative but completely missed the mark. I'm a very tolerant and forgiving diner but I have to say this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. We ended up giving our honest feedback to the manager and she took it all seriously to the point where they did not charge us for any of the food, and just the drinks we ordered. This was a gesture that was very appreciative. She mentioned that they will be changing out their menu soon and hope to see us again. But first impressions matter. And Lisbon has lots of other options. All I can say is thank you and good luck. read more

My girlfriend and I went to Oficio as a weekday dinner on vacation. We found the place through the Michelin guide... it was exceptional!!! The whiskey pumpkin cheese cocktail is to die for! What an experience! The service was extraordinary as well - ask your server for recommendations and you will not be disappointed. Did I mention the cocktail? Get it. Get the skate fish. Get the flan. Get the whole menu, actually. It's all so so so good! The place itself is cozy, with dimmed lights, doesn't feel super private, but is nice. Good luck finding the bathroom entrance (it's a hidden panel in a wall, pretty neat). read more

My husband and I only had 1 full day in Lisbon and we decided to visit Oficio for lunch. Making a reservation online via TheFork was easy. The location is great in Bairro Alto, we did some shopping nearby before heading over. The inside of this place is SO chic, it's like a fancy modern cave LOL not sure how else to describe it. The menu is definitely unique, so we were happy to have our server give his recommendations. We ordered 4 small dishes & 1 main to share and it was a good amount for 2 of us. - Tomato salad: This was such a beautiful & simple dish that just WORKED. After this dish my husband and I are convinced we need to peel all of our tomatoes before we eat them raw haha - Garlic shrimp: Definitely a unique interpretation of an iconic Portuguese dish. The shrimp is served almost like sashimi - it was tasty but maybe too fancy for our tastes? - Veal & marrow tartare: Absolute perfection!! It's served with 4 slices of brioche and the combination of the veal and marrow with the creamy brioche is *chefs kiss* - Fire-cooked skate: This is brought over to the table and then the server removes the fish meat from the bones. The skate meat was super tender! Pacing of the meal was slow but we expected it for a place like this. We spent €69 total on this meal and we thought it was worth it! We would definitely return if we find ourselves back in Lisbon read more

One of our favorite meals we had in Lisbon, which is really saying something! Many of the restaurants we ate at in Portugal were a little medieval feeling, which is very cool, but it made it extra refreshing when we walked into Ofício with its funky, bright, upbeat vibe. The food matched the ambiance. The drinks were perfection, and our meals could not have been better. Our server, Bianca, was so helpful with her suggestions and guidance throughout our time here. You definitely want to make a reservation, especially on a weekend. When we arrived I got the sense that if we hadn't had one, it would have been a significant wait for a table. That being said, if you drop in without one, I think it would be worth the wait. One last thing- save room for the cheesecake. Trust me read more

This was just an incredible experience at a Michelin star restaurant. My travel mate is vegetarian and I am not so this was the perfect place to eat. The staff was really friendly and helpful and she offered to make choices for us within a budget range. We obliged and she could not have done better choosing both vegetarian and meat dishes for the both of us. And even though we gave her a certain budget to work with, she came under that. It is a little noisy inside and not the quiet romantic stop you might hope for but it provided good energy. read more

Sad to say this one is definitely overrated. It was frankly a bit of a challenge to find the right selection of dishes to order and this proved to be telling. Jamon was delicious but of course they didn't make that, they just served it. The marrow/veal tartar had a nice combination with grilled brioche. The meat of the day was bavette, which we were a bit disappointed to hear as it's a fairly blah cut, but we went for it...we asked for it medium rare and it was served nearly blue, but at a minimum, rare, rare, rare. Cold in the middle and just seared on the outside. For what they charge, they should get the cook right, and to be frank, it just wasn't a great cut to undercook. The baked rice was the most surprising misstep of the meal. The rice was also undercooked. Many grains still had that hard white center, making for a rather too toothsome experience. We tried to assess whether it was just some extra crispy baked grains, but it wasn't...they were throughout the dish and visibly just underdone. Really surprised the kitchen let that one go out. Overall, it was fine, but at one of the pricier meals we had in Lisbon, we expected better. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Unique foods at a relatively reasonable price for the experience. Not a "value for the food" type of place, but a great date night experience with super specialized dishes. Sea vegetable taco (5 out of 5) - this was magnificent. Super fresh, beautiful blend of textures and flavors. Highly recommend. (7.50€ each) Scallop with padron pepper emulsion and ham (4.5 out of 5) - huge flavor blast with lots of textures, but not with the money? (11,00€) Veal and marrow tartare (5 out of 5) - favorite thing I ate my entire 3 week trip! Highly recommend! The seasoning, the texture, the taste, everything! (15,00€) Garlic prawn (4 out of 5) - my partner absolutely loved this, but it wasn't for me. Beautiful presentation and sauce. Leek, roasted tomato (3.5 out of 5) - interesting to have leek cooked 3 ways, leek itself, topped with leek powder with a leek aioli. Unique, but wasn't my favorite. Presa iberica com molho de tremocos (5 out of 5) - this was stunning! Beautifully cooked tusk of pork with amazing sauce combo. This was something special. read more

One of my favorite restaurants during my time in Lisbon. I may have gotten lucky, but the bread was fresh out of the oven and the b.e.s.t. bread I've ever had in my life. You *must* not skip it. Other than that, the oysters were nice, the leeks were outstanding (and great for dipping your bread in), and the cod croquette was another standout. I'd probably skip the fish "taco" next time as well as the skate fish. In terms of deserts, the mango was nice and light, but not a standout. Overall, wonderful service, high quality food and wine, and an all around winner for Lisbon. read more

(4.5 stars) Dinner here was a really lovely experience. It wasn't my favorite menu and not every dish was a hit, but man did I love the tacos and the old-fashioned oven rice. I could eat those over and over again. The rice especially, the meat was really well cooked and the rice had such deep flavor. Only dish I really didn't care for was the garlic shrimp, for which the sauce really just overpowered everything and there was too much of. read more

This restaurant receives many positive reviews so we decided to give it a try. It is a modified tapas restaurant with rather steep prices. The menu is small and is divided into about 5 section each has about 5-6 dishes ranging from very small (cold) to medium size (hot). The kitchen seems to be enamored with foam cuisine, and other avant Gard combinations .To me, a good fresh fish needs only three things- fire olive oil and lemon. The cod and foam potatoes is a fancy presentation but the cod is tough , stringy and lacks the good taste of cod. The skate is fishy and we send it back. The best things on the menu are the bread and the cheese cake. The other dishes we tried (cabbage) lacked the taste of cabbage. read more

Good food but poor service. We are used to the slower pace of restaurants in Portugal but we waited for our salad - it was late - and for a second bottle of water - we had to remind them. Then after we ate our entrees, we waited at least 30 minutes to get the check, and waited more after we asked for the check. We finally stood up, paid and left only to see our waiter walking up the street toward the restaurant! No wonder we waited so long - our waiter wasn't even at the restaurant! read more

Incredible. How can you go wrong when the ingredients, wine list and service is all top notch? sit down and get ready to eat meat. First, go easy on the appetizers and then order the CHAMBAO. This is the dish, amazing, delicious and more than enough red meat. Drink the wine, savor every bite and relish the experience of this Portuguese gastronomy inspired menu, but mostly just enjoy the simplicity of it all.
