We came here for lunch and shared several things, including the braised chicken, the oxtail, pumpkin soup and the beef and oxtail burgers. It was a perfect amount of food for 2 hungry people and we loved being able to try multiple things. Standouts were the pumpkin soup and cuttlefish burgers. We had never had that type of fish before but trusted the food reviews and they were spot on. It was a mild whitefish and we loved the aioli. We walked in without a reservation before 6 pm and somehow snagged the last table for two. Several groups were turned away shortly afterwards, so it'd be wise to make a reservation. For food we ordered the chicken, beer and citrus appetizer, codfish, and oxtail. The chicken, beer and citrus app was well seasoned but the chicken itself was overcooked. Cod was perfectly cooked and very tender but flavor wise it was too bland for my liking. I wished there was more acidity to the dish. The oxtail was definitely the highlight of our meal. The pumpkin soup with pip n cottage cheese is a must order. It consisted of all the flavours one can imagine - sweet, salty, savory, creamy. Wow . Just wow! I've never eaten an entree at restaurant that planted a scoop of mint gelato on top of couscous and lamb. The experience of flavors was unique. It makes me want to start putting ice cream on top of everything. The best entree in my opinion was the oxtail. No fork needed. The oxtail was tender as can be and was accompanied by a corn? The crostini-like bread was delish, I wasn't a huge fan of the pate but my husband liked it. My steak was absolutely tasty. Our second trip to Lisbon and 2nd time dining here. Nice outdoor dining option in the era of COVID, but had to settle for indoor next to an open window due to the place being reasonably busy. Waiter was very nice in a sarcastic way. Good options for red wines by the glass. This time, started with a duck pate served with toasted and buttered bread as well as fresh bread for only $1.65 euros! Sorry forgot to take a picture I was so hungry. We then had a number of entrees: 1. the chicken pasta which was beautifully presented rolled in a pastry and my daughter really enjoyed it 2. Seared tuna which was presented on an amazingly smooth and creamy mashed potatoes with slightly crisped root vegetable strings. Also quite tasty 3. Hamburger and cuttlefish burgers aka sliders were quite good and my son plowed through these. 4. And the steak which was nicely seared and served with fries and a poached egg. Also quite good Unfortunately no room for dessert. Amazing! Cutest/trendiest little restaurant in Lisbon. Beautiful setting as it is tucked away on a hill in the city. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Our waitress, Maria, was the best. This restaurant was within a block from our hotel in Lisbon so we stumbled upon it while walking around. It's located centrally in the Chiado neighborhood and close by many major attractions. During our 3 day stay in Lisbon we came twice because we liked it so much. Our first night we shared a soup as appetizer but my favorite dish was the oxtail. I've had oxtail soup a lot because it's a regional dish in my country but I've never had oxtail as tender and flavorful as the one here. The menu is really creative and they have many interesting pairings including lamb with mint ice cream and couscous. I recommend sitting outside. The only downside which is not the restaurants fault is that on our second night while having dinner a lot of guests were smoking and it definitely made us rush through food and wanna leave. If this place had a no smoking policy it would be perfect. If you visit Lisbon this is a great place for dinner. read more

What a lovely and unexpected surprise! My friend and I arrived in Lisbon from the south at 3pm, and our Airbnb host wasn't available to let us in until around 4:30! Knowing we were eager for lunch, I asked her for a recommendation for something nearby. Lo and behold, Oficina do Duque was just a few steps down the street. What we weren't prepared for was one of our favorite meals of the trip! After 12 days traveling around Portugal we felt confident in our "food knowledge" and were blown away by this experience. Lovely sidewalk seating, friendly service, and absolutely delicious and gorgeously plated food. We started with the zucchini appetizer (which, as we were so hungry, we attacked before I could take a photo), which was very good. We decided to share the meagre with tomato rice and the oxtail for our mains. Our waiter was kind enough to split the portions for us and plate them separately so we could easily share! The meagre was served as a second course, with the oxtail ending. Both were fantastic. For dessert, we shared the decadent chocolate mousse and polished off our delicious glasses of red wine that were 3.5 euro each! For the entire meal (one app, 2 mains, 3 glasses of wine, dessert, 2 espressos) we paid 57 euro inclusive of a nice tip. Located in a more secluded area of Lisboa off the main roads a top a numerous stair climb was what we felt one of the most delicious and unique restaurants on our trip. We started the dinner with vodka basil drinks that were so refreshing and different. They were a mixture of basil sherbet and green apples and were a nice way to start the meal along with the bread and duck pate that was divine. We felt that all the appetizers were amazing and highly recommending getting trying everyone because it was hard for us to pick a favorite. The cuttle fish and beef burger sliders melt in your mouth with a mayo sauce that takes them to the next level. The octopus was so tender and savory cooked to perfection and finally the beer and citrus chicken had that a zesty backyard flavor with the beer. The chicken pasta main course was different and very enjoyable it was wrapped in a cannelloni and had the texture of an enchilada but the taste of a pasta dish. The catch of the day was on levels seasoned to perfection but obviously will vary day to day so I would recommend it if it's a fish you enjoy. Finally as always we got fries as a side and they definitely didn't disappoint. If you're in Lisboa for a vacation make your way over to this restaurant but make sure to make a reservation as it always packed and hard to just walk in. We finished the meal with a chocolate mousse with olive oil and sea salt and a sponge cake covered with caramelized bananas. Ah, the meal was great. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the mint gelato was a clever combination. Their couscous was seasoned just right to accompany the lamb. The mackerel was perfectly cooked and was balanced well with the purée. Our desserts were both excellent. If you order both, don't be shy about putting the chocolate mousse with your sponge cake and bananas. Overall, this place is a GEM. I give it my highest recommendation. I love this place. A neighborhood staple. Service can be pretty slow at first; it take a while to be acknowledged snd seated as the outside wait staff are curt. My least favorite was the local fish over tomato rice. Kids loved the chicken and pasta which was really like a chicken roll. Family favorite was the super creamy crepe brûlée.
