I ordered grilled sardines with salad (€9.50), grilled cod (€13.50), and bottled water. However, my total came out to be €28.50. That doesn't add up. The only thing I could think of was that they gave me appetizers I never ordered. Beware. As for the taste, the grilled sardines was good. However, grilled sardines are easily found anywhere. Not a big fan of the cod.

Run! Completely scam. They sneakily added items I didn't order. They are so skilled scammers. I ordered sea food and all the clams and shell fish were empty so I complained. And then they gave me shellfish flesh. I found scotch brite in the food twice. They sneakily added five(5) more items in my check and I almost paid 10 euro more. I had to revise the check three times. If you really want to go there, please be careful not to be ripped off.

We were looking for a Portuguese/local flavor restaurant and found Rio Coura on Yelp. We were close to Praca de Comércio so we decided to hop on a Tuk Tuk which was an experience. Rio is located on the street car route in the Se' parish. We ordered the cheese and Octopus salad for starters- both were excellent! Cheese was mild and not too intense and the Octopus salad was flavored just right and tender. For main courses, we ordered the Seafood Rice (a good portion and enough for 2) which was really good and is one of the most popular dishes. The Pork with clams was the only dish we didn't enjoy. The meat wasn't seasoned and was dry so a miss on this one. That said, the Mixed grill was amazing! The steak/chicken had the grilled taste along with just the right amount of seasoning but the real star of this entree is the sausage which was outstanding! Portions were very generous so we Would have been fine with only 2 entrees to share for 3 The servers were attentive and helpful with ?s about the menu and food. Overall, very reasonable prices given the food quality and portions. We will be back!

Came here based on reviews, but don't waste your time. Seafood rice was super salty had to order plain rice just to pick the seafood out to eat....To end the evening I found plastic in our soup..Disgusting. It really sucks to end our trip with this shitty meal.

Worth walking up some cobbled streets. Excellent grilled octopus. Couldn't have started better with our 1st meal in Lisbon. Throughly enjoyed.

Went with my boyfriend in late February. Just a warning: if you are a tourist they will give you bread and olives as appetizers and charge you for them. This was a pretty common practice in most restaurants in Lisboa that we went to so, just a heads-up. We ordered the octopus salad, bacalao fritters with fried anchovies, and the seafood rice for 2 people (which could have served 3 people, easily). The prices were good, but I wasnt a fan of the style of rice they make. It was a little too soupy for my tastes. My boyfriend loved it, though.

This is definitely my favorite resto in Lisbon during the trip. It's a neat clean local restaurant with so many great taste food ! Octopus salad is my favorite, I still can remember that taste clearly. and the seafood rice is large size with many kinds of seafood indeed !! Brussels is a nice choice too. The service is warm and friendly, i don't need to say much words. JUST GO AND YOU WILL ENJOY IT SO MUCH !!

The food was amazing at a very reasonable price. The calamari, mixed meat, seafood rice, and salmon were all delicious! I want to go back to try more things on their menu.

Seafood was good. Had seafood rice, mixed meat dish, and clams. Overall all the dishes were great and had no complaints. Service was good as well. A decent restaurant for seafood if you're in the area. A lot of local grandparents dining here so you know that means it's a good local restaurant!

We found this restaurant because it was within a 5-10 minute walk from our Airbnb and we were starving after arriving in Lisbon. Food was reasonably priced. We ended up ordering the smoked meat platter, seafood rice for one, and the mixed shellfish plate. The food was good and the portions were huge for the price. The servers brought us bread and bacalao fritters as soon as we sat down and ended up charging for both items, which we were told was standard in touristy restaurants. We ate it, not knowing it was an automatic charge but didn't mind only because the bread was put to use dipping it in the sauce for both main courses.

I really liked their seafood rice. I love the soup it was in. The crabs, shrimps, and shells was just perfect. It was really flavorful and had a big serving for inly about 10 Euros. I would definitely come back for for some more. My friend ordered the porc de alentejana. I got to try some and it was nice. The sauce was a bit strong. Don't forget to squeeze the lemon :) If you're up for beer, try the local beers Super Bock and Sagres. My friend preferred the latter because it's lighter. This place was about 10 mins away from the Castello San Jorge. Also they have free-wifi

From the back of the restaurant...and we got here early!

The codfish dumpling fusion was a pleasant surprise, creamy on the inside and a nice chewy gyoza wrapper. The octopus rice was good too. A decent amount of octopus with rice in a smoked bell pepper sauce. I was disappointed by the seafood pasta soup though. I liked the mussels, but the shrimp and the clams weren't the freshest. The clams were a little mushy. It had a nice seafood stock flavor, but definitely could have used more salt and seasoning. We had mixed service from one of the female servers.

It's rotisserie chicken doused with a spicy hot sauce so what's not to like? I knew it was a Portuguese-originated dish, so I looked for a place famous for it. Here on a Sunday evening, there was quite a queue extending up the cobblestone alley, so I realized this must be the place. Although it was at least thirty people deep, it didn't take more than twenty minutes for Jamie W and me to secure a table upstairs. It was a homestyle dining room set-up that hovered between cozy and crowded depending on the fluctuating volume level. Interestingly all the servers were male, and while ours was the most junior, he consciously followed the behavior of his veteran brethren. There was no question about our main course, the 13,5€ Frango Assado No Espeto (Roast Chicken on the Spit) (Photo 7). It was tender and succulent enough albeit a bit under seasoned, all the more reason to pour a liberal dose of the piri piri sauce (Photo 8). Our sides were simple but shareable, the 3,2€ Batata Fritta (French Fries) (Photo 9) and the 4,3€ Salada Mista (Mixed Salad) (Photo 10). Both were fine, though we really wanted to try their Cream Spinach. They were already out of it in the kitchen. We were quite satisfied nonetheless, and their service pretty much worked like clockwork. Jamie and I agreed we'd definitely come back if the passion for poultry strikes us on a return trip to Lisbon. In the meanwhile, I'll just do a run to Costco, buy a rotisserie chicken, and dream of Portugal. A small line of one or two groups at a time formed throughout the night. We were seated outside and there was a street performer with an acoustic guitar - def added some great vibes to the night. It was a chilly December night but the heater provided *just enough* warmth. We ordered the codfish cakes which were alright - nothing too special. Since it was a little cold out, I also ordered the chicken broth. It was bland, but good in its own way. There was some rice and chicken bits in it that tasted really good. The rotisserie chicken that they are known for was EXTREMELY salty. We were a group of 6 and ordered 2.5 rotisserie chicken (so 5 pieces) but this was actually way too much. It's a little better (but still salty) if you don't eat the skin, but that's the best part given how crispy it was! I tried to drown out the saltiness by using the piri piri sauce and it helped a little bit... but biting into the chicken meant biting into the undissolved salt bits. Given how salty it was, we could not finish it at all and left behind 3 pieces. Service itself was meh. They made sure to inform us that the tip was not included in the bill.

We visited several wineries and this restaurant had the best wine - bar none!
