    Grilled sea bass

Happen upon this little place. Nothing fancy however the food is pretty fantastic. Had the prawns in garlic, and the sea bass with vegetables. The prawns was the best we have had in Portugal and the Sea Bass was amazing. The cost of the meal was $26 which included two beers and bread. At the end of the meal they gave us to muscat wines on the house. This is a hidden gem of a place

Amazing experience - I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face! Got lucky that a group of locals came with their musical instruments and treated the whole restaurant to several hours of lively Portuguese folk songs. What a festive atmosphere! And the food es delicious too. A night to remember, for sure.

We were looking for a locals only restaurant, or at least one that serve red primarily locals and found this place. This place, located in a neighborhood area, serves up some traditional Portuguese fare in a no frills atmosphere. The service was efficient and friendly. The menu basic but had all the traditional Portugese dishes you'd expect. Here's a few of the dishes we had: Francesinha Steak with Coffee Sauce Grilled Cuttlefish Grilled Codfish To top the meal off, they gave us some local liqueur which was a nice touch.

We were brought here by our guide to have our last dinner in the city. The guide ordered for us and everything was mostly great. Interesting dishes, local dishes of seafood rice, chorizo, grilled pork etc... More home style in terms of serving size. We were with a guide so communication wasn't an issue.

We just completed a week in Portugal and finished with the most economical yet fantastic meal we experienced all week. Four of us had steak, fish, pork, and a combination of all three preceded by a tasty vegetable soup. We finished off with incredible desserts and after dinner aperitifs. I should also add a splendid bottle of wine at an incredible price added to the exceptional experience. The wait staff couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly!

True local spot. We visited during Lisbon lunch time and I was packed with locals. It was quite lovely to observe people on their break from work. The service was friendly, fast, and efficient. I'm so glad we went to this hidden gem

Got a local recommendation to come here for the infamous Francesinha sandwich! Since this is really a Porto specialty we wanted to choose carefully since Lisbon isn't quite the right place. However, no fear. Lucimar's version is excellent! It was exactly what I imagined it would be and more. To begin with there was the usual range of appetizers, but the olives came with garlic, bay leaf, oregano and oranges. Incredible combination. Bread of course, plus some eggs scrambled with sausage. Obviously it was generously proportioned but the flavors were good as well. The steak was tender and there was plenty of sausage, cheese and sauce (they even gave us extra). Be sure to ask for the house made hot sauce - that stuff is amazeballs. We finished off with some Arroz Doce which is totally worth ordering. The owner brought us some lovely Moscatel de Setubal on the house to finish off. An excellent meal with lovely people in a great little neighborhood spot. Check it out!

If you love meat and seafood, this is the place to come! If you love an intimate setting and don't mind making a reservation, this is the place to come! (We were a party of six) If you like being taken care of by the owner and his adorable teenaged son and nephew (super cute 13-year old whom we asked, do you have a girlfriend? No, he says and after a pause, I have two!), this is the place to come! Their bacalao was delicious. It was a good sized piece of cod that was so flaky, tender, flavorful and went well with the potatoes and other thinly sliced veggies. We had vino tinto and tried a variety of desserts, ALL that we loved! The chocolate mousse was my personal favorite. The owner chatted with us and brought us our complimentary peach schnapps, an entire bottle! Overall, it was an excellent experience!

Great local gem ... Had tasty meals. Great service with personality not seen in a while. They have pork, beef, and fish. Many desserts to choose from including mango mousse, cheesecake, and other various options. This a local spot. Not touristy. Well worth the visit at a low cost, surprisingly.

Lucimar is a typical local restaurant where you will eat well in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was always smiling and attentive to the customers. To begin to sweeten the appetite, once you sit down, they will serve the typical Portuguese entrees, bread, and olives. The menu boasts an array of delicious homemade food and at an affordable price. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise, and it's the place to be if you want to eat a very good Francesinha! The service was also quite efficient, fast and friendly. Jose Maria is the face of this business! We felt welcomed and enjoyed the very attentive and friendly staff. You'll want to visit during off-peak meal hours otherwise I recommend you call and make a reservation.

This was our first official meal in Lisbon, a reservation for 9:45 pm dinner on a Wednesday, and it was a great introduction to Portuguese food. The street at the entrance was empty and quiet, and there weren't many people inside, presumably because it was late. Service was excellent, they were very nice, told us to take our time despite our late reservation. Pumpkin soup was the appetizer, and it was delicious. Creamy and hearty but somehow not heavy, with some tomato and meaty flavor that went well with the sweet pumpkin. Comes with some seeds and bread that you can dip the soup with. 5/5 Octopus-comes with some green peppers, quinoa, and a tomato paste/puree that gives it a light, slightly sweet, slightly spicy taste that went very well with the octopus. This is a great summer dish. Interestingly the thin end of the octopus was not that crispy, maybe that was the intention, but the entire tentacle taste and texture was pretty homogenized. 4.5/5 Risotto- also has pumpkin, but more savory with cheese and butter, topped with leek and I belive has mushrooms. Not sure how they're getting away with using heavy ingredients coming together to become a light dish, but they're pulling it off perfectly. Price was also very reasonable. We did get asked about tip, which not all restaurants in Lisbon do, but we felt tip was deserving at this establishment.

The food across the board was excellent--every dish we tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and felt thoughtfully put together. You can tell there's real intention behind both the menu and execution. What really elevated the experience, though, was our waiter, Bernardo. He brought incredible energy to the table--full of personality, engaging, and genuinely fun to interact with. At the same time, his service was top-notch: attentive without being overbearing, helpful with recommendations, and clearly passionate about what he does. Great food is one thing, but when you pair it with service like that, it turns into a memorable experience. Highly recommend--and if you get Bernardo, you're in for a great time.

I had read in Yelp that lines could be long, but we arrived early. They have a little red rope at the door where they explain the rules. The interior is kind of eclectic. They have wines at three price points, we got a really nice bottle of red called Pops reserve. For the tapas, we ordered the assorted cheeses, octopus risotto, duck breast with chips (not normally on the menu), and ceviche. All were superb. We started with the duck and ceviche. The duck was braised perfectly and seasoned well, wonderful. Then the ceviche had swordfish and tuna. I am not normally a sword fan, but this was very tasty. Next up were the cheese and risotto. The risotto was incredible, buttery and delicious. The cheese plate had 5 cheeses of different intensity. All were great, particularly the goat ones. It came with a pumpkin jam which I had never had before, but was very good. I definitely recommend this place
