Service was excellent as there weren't too many patrons on the afternoon that we visited. The decor is cute yet casual. When we're back in Austin, we'll definitely come back!

Definitely has a kick, be prepared if you don't take spicy food well. Thai Hippie Tofu - Good flavor, although there was a little too much sauce and salty for my taste. Char-Buff Cauliflower - Good and flavorful. Hawaiian Shrimp Ceviche - Refreshing and a nice option. Itchy Salmon - Two tiny pieces of sushi, but they were good. Brisket Rangoons - Just okay for me. This was probably my least favorite dish of the night. Sweet Potato Waffle Fries - crispy with good flavor. A fun side to share. Smash Burger - We had it cut in half, which made it perfect for sharing. Good burger and a satisfying way to end the meal. Overall, a fun spot for happy hour if you want to order several different dishes and share. There was a good variety.

Amazing Food, Incredible Drinks & Fantastic Service!…read more What an absolutely fabulous experience at Moonshine Grill in Austin! From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was fantastic! Jessica took great care of us and made our visit even more enjoyable. The ambiance was also really nice, with cute rocking chairs out front and lots of mirrors all over the walls. We had the grilled cheese sandwich with burnt ends, and WOW! The combination of the amazing onions and gooey, delicious cheese was out of this world! We also ordered the sweet potatoes, and I cannot say enough about how good they were! Perfectly sweet and absolutely delicious. Seriously, SO SO good! And the drinks? The lavender lemonade was AMAZING! Refreshing, delicious, and the perfect complement to an already fabulous meal! Between the incredible food, fantastic drinks, and Jessica's wonderful service, this place was a winner all around! If you're in Austin, Moonshine Grill is definitely worth a stop! We loved every bite and sip!

We somehow snagged nearby street parking and a table for two with no wait despite it being a busy Saturday evening after a UT football game. Make a reservation if you have a large party or are on a tighter schedule. It's a bit loud for those seated in the lobby/entrance area, but totes a vibe. For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.

I stopped today with my husband and absolutely LOVED it, I'm definitely gonna be back!!…read moreBut let me tell you more! The indoor is very beautiful and smells like cinnamon and apple (a scent that I love), especially going towards the bathrooms. Theres a bar section with plenty of seating and the room inside the restaurant is overall very spacious. I didn't see much of the indoor as I decided to sit outside in the patio. Although being during the Texas summer, the patio has plenty of (very powerful) fans! The view of the green belt next to the restaurant is amazing, and there is also an outdoor bar, which gives impeccable vibes. We ordered two starters and had plenty of food! My husband ordered the Barbacoa Stackers (slow roasted barbacoa, refried black beans, Jack cheese, JAK slaw, Cotija cheese) I personally loved them! The meat was tasty and juicy, the black beans were perfectly cooked and everything was so rich in flavor. Definitely a 10/10! I ordered the Homemade Buttermilk Biscuit, served with honey & seasonal fruit flavored butter (with a side of yummy bacon) Today they had strawberry flavor, and there was even strawberry jam. I have to be honest, THE BEST biscuits I've ever had in my life! And I love me some good biscuits! They were buttery and crumbly to the right point! The strawberry butter with the strawberry jam was the perfect combo! We were told the biscuits are made fresh every morning, and I love that! It was definitely a 1000/10! We also got some chips and salsa. Chips are very crunchy, and the salsa is spicy to the right point! Now I'm building my tolerance with the spicy and this salsa was really yummy, and can build up the spice! The waiter who served it to us, brought it over in a small mason jar and emptied it in the little container for our table, which was something I've never seen done like this. Definitely appreciated it! Makes me think they make their own salsa (forgot to check on that!) They also gave us a complimentary pita bread with pimento, and it was delicious! The pita bread was very crunchy and salty to the right point! They even gifted me a portion of peach and strawberry cobbler, topped with ice cream, for my birthday and it was insane! The flavor was perfectly sweet and mixed with the ice cream was very refreshing and still warm and melting in my mouth! Probably one of the best cobblers I've ever had! And keep in mind, we got here that we weren't feeling super hungry, and yet we were able to appreciate every single bite cause it was so good!! Last but not least - Ali, our server, was incredible! She was so nice throughout the whole dining experience and made sure we had everything we needed. She was so kind to ask if I could add peach puree to my freshly squeezed lemonade (which is a 10/10), and even made sure I had plenty of strawberry butter for my biscuits. We definitely took some leftovers home and I can't wait to have the remaining biscuit in the morning!

The lamb fondue (appetizer) was legitimately one of the best things I've ever eaten, and I'll return next time I'm in Austin for these alone. However, I was extremely disappointed in the Big Ass Burger. It did fulfill the promise of being large, but it was pretty flavorless, and uninteresting. If the lamb fondue is any indicator, any of their other entree choices is likely a more curated and thoughtful presentation in both concept and flavor. I'm gonna be back and I want to rate it 5 stars next time. We shall see...

I really appreciated the creative menu and unique protein choices like antelope. We ordered cornbread , antelope tataki, apple tarte tatin with pork belly, and goat. The antelope and goat were not gamey at all and very fresh. The cornbread was a huge hit. I ordered an extra one to go. I also got the Texas Pickles and olive oil cake. The Texas pickles were really, really good. My mom ate the olive oil cake and she really liked it. All the food runners were great. Did a great table side explanation of the dish. Very professional. If you haven't been here, you should try it at least once. The name is very fitting and very Austin. Since they are farm to table, I believe their menu rotates based on season and what's fresh. I think I'd like to come again when they have a new menu. I'm sure it will be fresh and creative also.

We made a res and that was a good choice as they fill up very fast here. There is complimentary valet parking as well for those worried about their cars. The interior is modern and sleek but doesn't lack a soul, which extends to their servers and workers, phenomenal. For our food we went with cornbread, pork belly sliders, aged wagyu burger, and fettuccine. The cornbread was phenomenal, an easy standout with a grilled onion butter that provides a pop of flavor. The pork belly sliders were also good, balancing all flavors perfectly. The fettuccine was good, not great. The chips and their texture took a lot away from what else was going on in the dish. Now for the best part of the meal, the burger. This burger is unworldly, an absolutely delicious bite brimming with juice. The beer cheese and jam do so much here with a perfectly cooked patty. The definition of a signature dish. Odd Duck is such a standout in what can sometimes feel like a copy paste food scene here in Austin. We're glad to have eaten here before its inevitable (at this rate) first star.

Had not been to this restaurant in a good while, and was a last minute decision. Good choice. The whipped feta is always a treat -- light and creamy with a solid feta taste, but not overpowering, served with a few orange slices and thinly sliced almonds, and pita. Special dish! Beet salad excellent, but the Fresno peppers had way too much heat, so pushed them to side. My wife had the Moroccan curry, which had a very spot on Moroccan flavor (been there 3x), and was a large, filling portion so brought home leftovers. I had the grilled pork chop which was large, perfectly grill with a tasty bourbon-based glaze, served with a large roasted garlic clove. Wonderful dish. My wife had a white wine that she enjoyed and my martini, slightly dirty with olives (to start) was a large pour and very smooth. Enjoyable meal in a nice setting once again ...
