Came her two weeks ago during their soft open. Showed up at 11:00 am which is their posted open time. Was told they were doing a photo shoot and it would be 10-15 minutes. Not a problem, unfortunately it ended up taking 40-50 minutes, but I really wanted to try the spot so we waited. We were seated and went to look at the buffet. The trays were half empty and it was obvious the food had been siting there a while probably because of the photo shoot. The food was cold to warm. Flavor wise..food was okay.., alot of the food/protein tasted like it was marinated in watered down 5 spice marinade. The flavors were almost there just muted. Everything needed salt/msg/something in the buffet. The mongolian barbecue/hibachi had no flavor, they need a sauce bar for it like most mongolian barbecues have, they just cook the veggies/noodles/meat in water, and give it a touch of sauce at the end. Sauce bar or just cooking it in straight sauce would help. Tried adding some soy sauce which didn't really help much. I wouldn't get this here again if I returned unless it improved. It was inedible. Speaking of soy sauce, they need to put one at each table instead of having you put it in a small plastic container at the fountain drink area. The sushi rolls I had were pretty good, they were simple but good. The rice was unseasoned is the only complaint I really had. Fish was fresh, Salmon sashimi was really good but not a lot of it available. It's the soft opening so I understand. Big turn off was the chocolate fountain which looked like it didn't have enough chocolate in it and it just looked vile and off putting. I never use this but it was just nasty looking as the chocolate had took on a weird texture? Don't know how to describe it. The inside is very welcoming and looks good, no complaints there. They definitely try to not look like a typical Chinese food buffet and it works. I might try this place again, but with China Wall nearby who knows. The food at China Wall is better, and the cost is cheaper. If you want Sushi and Hibachi as well as Chinese food the 29.99 price point it a great value if they can improve some and you can enjoy your meal. read more

Our first time here w/ my family celebrating my nephew birthday. I heard a lot of recommendation in this restaurant so i decided to give it a try. Its really nice & big place and a lot of option of food. No complain on that. We ate a LOT. The price is reasonable too. The only thing happened was, I asked to put the cake I brought to the their fridge as soon as we came in. & when were done eating, & asked for the cake, they just handed it to us, still in the box. We didn't say anything, but our expectation is they open it and they will sing happy birthday to my nephew. So even i'm wonder i just ignore it and didn't say anything. Then we open the box so to sing to my nephew and so he can take picture too.as soon as we are doing that,one staff came by and told us that we have 10mins left! Im surprised.I realized they want us to leave!maybe they thought we are going to eat the cake there. We didn't realized we almost 2hrs inside already, because we really enjoying our food,we didn't notice the time but if they really want to implement the time limit,they should remind us.since they know we have them keep the cake. This place is still working out its kinks. Much to our surprise, the sushi were some of the best items! The Mongolian stir-fry was made with too much black pepper, making it difficult to eat. Some of the steam table items were quite good (skewer chicken, fried wonton with cream cheese) but we would have appreciated all the food heated to a high temperature. Some standard Chinese buffet fare was really disappointed (avoid daan tat and sesame balls at all costs). We did enjoy some of the ice cream plus the chocolate fountain for dessert -- and free soft drinks were a plus. I think I've figured out which items I would get again to make the next visit a more thoroughly positive one. Lastly, the service was very attentive in clearing off dishes without judgment at what we left over, and the place is kept quite clean! Willing to give it another chance in a few months. read more

Very good Asian buffet and great selection of meats, sushi, fried foods. Mongolian bbq had decent selection of meats and vegetables, however, they do not offer customers a choice of different sauces to add for the chef to saute. The chef adds in generic soy that is diluted, oil and water to flavor your food. Cost of meal includes your beverages, hot and cold. Went on Sunday for lunch and place got packed within a half hour of opening at 11 AM. Very clean restaurant and impressed they even keep their restrooms clean. visually everything looks sad.... they have all this shiny " crystal"/glass decoration but the atmosphere doesn't match. they have these big chafing dishes and they spread it thin or make a big pile in the middle. unfortunately the section on the edges will dry out faster. like the chow mein i had some hard noodles and pieces of meat were a bit hard. Food rotation/timing must be lacking here. Oysters fresh batch was better and visually you can tell which ones where sitting out long compared to the new ones by the color of it and the dried out edges. I tried one that was there when I first arived and it was gritty. Luckily the new batch that came in the two new ones werent. Maybe it was one off thing. I agree that the food is bland but they have salt and soy sauce on the drink island but utensils and the condiments set up isn't functional you have to reach over the ice cream to grab chop sticks or if a drink line wraps around you have to wait to grab a spoon. Sushi just tasted frozen even had a frozen texture but they were decent slices. The ice cream was bland... i had the strawberry ( dont like chocolate) and i was expecting that artifical strawberry taste. nope that wasn't even there. I came in during a dead time so bussers were very much aware of when you were done. I would recommend coming during a busy day so food would be fresher. read more

Decent place, clean tables, comfy chairs, food is what I call typical asian buffet in CA. A sushi roll area, mongolian bbq, fruit and dessert area and about 20 hot items. I'm kind of picky but I enjoyed the brocoli beef, sui mai (dumplings), scallion pork and chicken skewers. The pot stickers and spring rolls were decent but nothing special. I didn't like the type of noodle they use for chow mein (fat kind like udon) and didn't feel like any fried rice today. The big surprise for me was the scoop it yourself ice cream area. They feature Crystal brand which is good stuff and they have a chocolate fountain but I didn't try it. They serve Pepsi which made me happy too. Finally decided to try this place the other day. For $30 the pricing is decent in this economy. The concept is similar to Habachi Grill in Fairfield, CA. The selection of food here is decent and the food overall is good. The have a cold salad bar section, dessert section, seafood, hot food, fried food, habachi grill if you desire, a sushi section, and a limited selection of dim sim.The quality of the raw fish on the nigiris are pretty good. They're bright in color and taste fresh. The pieces of fish (tuna, Hamachi, and salmon) are nicely portioned. There's also unagi, but it's cold. I wish they would toast it up first before serving, but it's still good. I also wish the included a bit more selection to the dim sum, but the bbq pork buns and shu mai offered are good. Overall a decent place to eat at. Way better than Habachi Grill if you want to make your way out to Concord. Oh... the waiters are quite prompt to picking up your old plates as well. They also ask before taking your plates just in case you're not done. Definitely a plus. The place is also quite spacious, but I don't believe there are any private areas. read more

My family came here for my sons birthday and the food was good. I had the crab, sushi, and the coconut shrimp. They were all very good. The crab was decent, they had butter sauce and cocktail sauce which was a great addition. I also tried their fried shrimp and it was great. My husband liked their Chinese food section and he's pretty picky. No one liked the chocolate fountain but I saw a lot of people having it. I even liked the hot and sour soup. I was pleasantly surprised with the food because usually buffets can be mediocre, but this place was definitely a treat. The ambiance was nice too. Bathrooms were clean. Workers were friendly. Price was great, around $30 per person for an hour and a half and everyone got to try food that they enjoyed instead of having to eat at different restaurants for different foods. We will be back. Solid buffet in the old Lucille's BBQ spot at the Sun Valley Mall. The food layout is pretty solid, with one area dedicated to the hibachi/Mongolian BBQ. A reasonable selection of sushi rolls, with some pieces of tuna and salmon, which I turned into a bit of poke. I stuck mostly with protein, going with the baked mussels, salt and pepper shrimp, the sweet shrimp, snow crab legs and stir fried clams. The clams were really good and were only not cleaned out because they were in a corner. The baked mussels were a little salty, but the stewed mussels were great. The sweet shrimp were just okay, but the salt and pepper shrimp were really good. Snow crab was a little water logged. Scallops with vermicelli were okay. I saw some soups but they are in a weird spot across from the sodas. I did get some self serve ice cream. What stands out here are the workers. All of the food was restocked quickly and any spills were cleaned up quickly. Our used plates and bowls were quickly cleared from our table - this is a real treat at a buffet. Overall, this was a solid deal for a Friday night buffet. read more

I liked that drinks were included in the entry price and self-serve, unlike most buffets. However, the cleanliness was a concern. Utensils and their holder looked dirty, and I had to wipe mine before using them.
