While roamin' around Rome we stumbled upon this somewhat undifferentiated (from others) restaurant and decided to give it a try for dinner. We were delighted by our meal and experience. Sadly unable to secure an outdoor table we were sat at a large table in the back, right near the kitchen. It actually turned out to be a great spot because it was directly adjacent to the waiter's order-entry computer which guaranteed we were never forgotten about. And let me mention, the waitstaff was wonderful! Not only were they friendly and attentive but they HUSTLED with everything they were doing! They also were so accommodative: it became very warm during our meal and they gladly turned on the air conditioning upon our request. To top it off, the food was delicious! They have all the usual fare and then some. In fact, we gave the artichoke a try and it was very interesting, yet tasty! (spoiler: they essentially fry an entire artichoke, the downside is that the leaves do not end up being like potato chips) Compliments to the chef(s) at this place! This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge on our first night in Rome when my wife and I asked for a casual restaurant recommendation that served carbonara close to our hotel. We made the mistake of not ordering off the menu, and asked our server, Alessandro, to make recommendations for our appetizers and main entree. The calamari and squid appetizers were acceptable and fairly priced, but the sea bass for 2 was enough to feed family of 5 and we were shocked when we got the bill and were charged 160€ for our sea bass entree for 2. The main entree at this "casual" restaurant turned out to the be most expensive entree of our entire trip to Italy. In fairness, we should have asked for the price of the sea bass before ordering, which is our fault, but be forewarned about off-menu pricing at this restaurant. Service is terrible. Was told indoor seating available 1hr later even almost every indoor tables were empty. Decided to try their food anyway but these tables were still empty after our 1hr dinner. Waiter explained to us that these tables were already booked via phone for local regular guests and would be charged even they did not show up, which was very common in Italy. I started laughing. Came here for dinner one night since it was recommended by our concierge. Ordered the artichoke salad, gnochi with zucchini flowers/shrimp, and a chicken marsala. The salad was delicious with its fresh parmesan cheese! Chicken marsala was good as well but I wasn't a huge fan of the gnochi. We ordered the pear cheese salad as a starter, the pumpkin ravioli (the best ravioli I have ever had!), the sea bass and pistachio spaghetti, chicken Marsala, and pistachio crusted salmon. Nice looking place, large inside and outside tables as well. Friday night place is busy, but I manage to get an outside table. Greeted and brought three menus. One for wines, only bottles can be ordered, no single glass. Another for pizzas and then the regular menu which is quite extensive. I ordered the mixed salad, a large one I might add with a variety of greens and julienned carrots. Then the seafood risotto. It was tasty but could use a little more seafood. I ordered oysters which is very fresh and has a bit taste of sweetness which was just right with the house white wine. My hotel recommended a fabulous place to eat the first night I was in Rome. Boy was it heaven. The second night they recommended this place. Unfortunately it was a living hell. As I made my menu selections there were gnats flying around me. And it just begins there. My mother ordered the fettucci sea bass with pistachio, so bland. I ordered the saltimbuca, not bad, has better in Missouri. Yes, Missouri. Then we order dessert, I got the almond semifredo, my mom got the creme brûlée. That was inedible. It had the consistency of a rubber tire. The strawberry sauce tasted like cough syrup. We did not eat it. Worst creme brûlée I have ever had. And let me add I once tried to make it at home, which is where I will only order it at restaurants. We just paid our bill after a long wait of twiddling our thumbs, when I decided to write this review. End of story, I wish I went to a tourist trap. By the way, I am still hungry. read more

This restaurant was highly recommended by the hotel we were staying at. We were on Day 12 of our all-over-Italy vacation, and if all the incredibly good food we have had, this was the poorest by far. The food was very bland; my entire family had the same opinion. As a point of comparison, I had the grilled fish, which has been my choice for main course over the last 3 days. It was not up to the excellent standards we have experienced in Rome (and elsewhere in Italy). I thought quite seriously about a 1 star rating; but perhaps that is too harsh; alternatively, 3/5, which would be above average quality, is definitely too high. The final killer was when the bill arrived - they charged us €4.50 for the table bread, which we didn't order - and didn't even use! read more
