A great fine dining seafood restaurant in Rome. They bid themselves as "your fish restaurant near the Coliseum," and if you're a seafood fan; definitely don't snooze by this place! We had an awesome celebratory family friendly meal here. We started with the langoustine tartar with foie gras, which was a delicious mix of flavors. The oysters looked appealing, but were a bit pricey so we passed on those. We also got the sea scallops with pork cheek, which were both delightful and fresh, followed by a tomato-ey pasta dish, which I can't for the line of me remember now, except that it was absolutely delightful. We ordered a sea bass fillet for the main course, which was delicious, although a very small portion, but it was still enjoyed greatly. WOW. This spot is a must when visiting Rome. We went for lunch, and it was pretty empty but we didn't mind having the place all to ourselves. Our server was great and recommended her favorite dish, the lobster risotto. I am so glad we tried it! Honestly, one of the best meals we had during our honeymoon to Italy. We were recommended Crab by the nearby Palazzo Manfredi, and we cannot stop thinking about this meal since. It was probably the best meal I had in my life... and no other seafood on our trip to greece, turkey, naples could compare to this one spot. Do NOT miss your chance if you're in Rome by the Colosseum to eat at Crab Restaurant!! The manager helped us decide what to order and everything pictured tasted just as amazing as it looked. The service was great, the food was unforgettable, the music and vibes were lovely. 100/10, come super hungry and eat the freshest seafood (literally, they showed us our lobster alive at our table before cooking). This was the best restaurant I've been to thus far in Italy. We've eaten at numerous places, but this tops it. If you're a seafood lover, this is the place to be! We ordered the el pulpo (octupus) salad, gambino tempura, sea bass, and blue lobster. My recommendation would be to ask them to salt lightly as the seasoning sometimes got a little overpowering, but really that doesn't even take a star away. The servers were all so helpful. We were shocked when one of them brought out the blue lobster to show us how big it was... and then proceeded to say that it could feed two, but because I wanted seabass, I stuck to my dish while my husband ordered the blue lobster and pasta. Jr was soo fresh! They also swerve Acqua Panna (from what we've noticed so far, was when this was the restaurant's choice of still water... more so than likely, it's a legit place). The ambiance, the service, the food... all was top notch. Very close to the Coliseum. Minimalist decor, crisp white tablecloths warm staff. Locals go to eat. They make their own focaccia and have their own olive oil from their olive trees. Vegan options. Wonderful seafood restaurant. They have outdoor and indoor seating. We came during a weekday around 2pm. They gave us the best seat in the restaurant and it was lovely. We ordered the seafood tower and it was delicious!! We also ordered aperol spritz to go with our seafood. There were two large gray shrimp that was questionable but the server was so kind. She said they were able to cook that up for us and it came back like a new dish! All of the seafood tasted very fresh except for the hairy crab. The first giveaway was it was not as firm. The only seasoning they used for the crab was salt and olive oil. I am sure other people would enjoy the seasoning but i had to make my own. I used their passion fruit, lemon, and orang from the aperol spritz to make my seafood sauce and it was amaaazing. Tasted like a seafood ceviche. Highly recommend people giving that a try. This is a seafood Italian restaurant. It's across the street from the Colosseum where there are hundreds of people. However this place was a refuge from the crowds. There were only a few tables and the food and service were above average. It's very classy as you walk into the restaurant. It's a little expensive. That may be the reason for lack of people. We started with the baby octopus and zucchini. Loved it. Why can't we find this in the states! I got the spaghetti with clam and fish eggs. My sister got the fruitti linguine. The pasta was fresh and made on site. They get extra stars for that! The spaghetti was simple but had so much flavor and not the kind of spaghetti we cook at home or get in our American Italian restaurants. Where to start... the service was impeccable and attentive. The red prawns and papaya were delicious and mouthwatering. And the kitchen was great about removing the heads from the prawns...lol. My fiancée and I shared the linguini with lobster & though we could have shared more lobster, we loved the meal! Following the meal, we shared drinks at the bar, which was fabulous! The restaurant is pricey but we were happy to not be crowded into a small place, had attentive service and could hear each other. Great food! My wife and i ate here for dinner one night while staying in Rome. The wait staff was highly professional and patient with our "Italian." The meal started with the thin pita bread basket drizzled in olive oil that was brought to the table. DELICIOUS! We then ordered the fried zucchini and calamari as an antipasto. So good and a large portion to boot. I ordered the spaghetti with clams and my wife ordered a mixed seafood dish. Both were incredibly fresh and filled with flavor. We capped off our dinner with a delicious tiramisu. I highly recommend this cozy restaurant to anyone who enjoys seafood. Honestly I wanted to like this place, but it fell incredibly short of our expectations. We ordered the spaghetti with prawns and lobster ravioli. The prawns were barely cooked and completely raw in the middle. For the ravioli, the flavor was good, but the texture of the pasta was very hard. On another note I was very disappointed in the handling of the food and cleanliness of the place. I saw on 3 occasions the waiter cleaned off a table and then put back the leftover bread from the breadbasket back into their main bread holder.
